Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 7/18
?q=100)
2023 MEET STATS: 257 - 733 / $1,221.20 (-$244.80)
BEST BETS: 42 - 69 / $133.40 (-$4.60)
BEST BET: SHAKE IT (1st)
SPOT PLAY: ONE CRAZY GUY (12th)
Race 1: NW20251 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) SHAKE IT hails from high-percentage connections and gets needed class relief while drawing well. Stratton drives again and this 4YO is in position for a winning trip. (3) QUALITY BUD was used early last week to secure position and finished ok, and (5) ROCK THE DEVIL should be more involved going from the NW30’s to 20’s.

Race 2: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
If you looked for betting lines on who would be cutting the mile in last week’s race, (4) ACEFORTYFOUR ALEX would be about +10000. Reverting to off-the-pace tactics she's always capable with a smooth trip, making one late run. (1) FEELIN RED HOT is the obvious one to catch but I just don't trust her to get it done. Toss-up for the rest.

Race 3: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) PACE N PRIDE N has been knocking on the door for some time now and while he stays at the same level as last week this is arguably a softer field; top billing. (2) MOVIN ON UP returns locally and he faced much better when last here, and (4) VENIER HANOVER has versatility and an improved post.
Race 4: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(1) OURLITTLEMIRACLE has raced well for board spots in her two starts at this claiming level and the Burke trainee's main rivals in here are coming off of barn changes, so there are built-in excuses. (4) GOLDEN QUEST N has been awesome and keeps Dube on the move to the Lorentzon barn and (2) COWGIRL LILLY goes to a barn that has been underperforming lately.
Race 5: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
Competitive field here…(3) YOROKOBI N already has two wins out of five starts since moving to the U.S. and the Peter Tritton trainee had too far to come last week while posting a :27 last quarter. Post relief makes him a major player. (2) SLING SHOCK has been good in limited appearances, returns with Lasix. (5) MONTANA STORM N is a fresh import for Ross Croghan, who has had tons of success in the past with Down-Under shippers.
Race 6: Pop-Up Leg #2 Pace
(4) UP THE CREEK is the obvious one to beat from Team Bongiorno but won't offer much of a price. (1) HUNTSVILLE PLACE will likely be sitting the pocket but needs to show more late, and (3) DELESTON was very disappointing last week but Kakaley drives again looking to rebound.
Race 7: Pop-Up Leg #2 Pace
(7) LOUS THE ATTITUDE scored in round-one action at 1/9 odds and now moves all the way outside while losing the absent Bartlett. Zeron will have him pointed to the front again at a much more reasonable price. (5) ALL ALONE could me more aggressively handled by Bongiorno from this spot. (1) AMBITIOUSBEACHBOY has a shot for a piece departing from the rail.
Race 8: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(8) BACKSTREET SHADOW faces the softest field in recent memory and despite drawing the worst post I imagine Kakaley will have him in play looking to right the ship. (1) JM’S FINAL TREASURE is a logical contender from Burke. (4) WOLFTRAX is an interesting 4YO who has been beating up on rivals in Kentucky but has missed time.
Race 9: 3-5YO NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(5) MY MIKI BEACH is always forwardly placed and always ends up with a pocket trip, leading to board finishes but not wins. Perhaps if new driver Joe B can get him rating the pace then the Dilloian trainee could polish it off. (2) MORE THAN YA KNOW also has speed and a good draw, while (6) IM HUNGRY gets the worst of the draw but is clearly talented.
Race 10: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(4) WILDCAT ANTONIA is a proven winner at this level and hopefully she's over her recent troubles. Brennan is back listed on the Burke trainee. (1) CHUPPAH ON had an impossible trip last week when she was shuffled and stuck on the rail. Obvious one to beat. No opinion on the rest, so maybe use an ALL in the 3rd or 4th spots.

Race 11: 2-4YO NW1 race or $12,500 lifetime Pace
(5) END GAME was aggressively handled in his last two starts down at Philly for these connections and though he came up a bit short both times that could have the 3YO tighter for his local debut. (2) ROCKINFORREAL was much-improved last week with speed at both ends of his mile. (3) CLEVELAND B MIKI took some money upon arrival but was never a factor; consider again.
Race 12: 3-5YO NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(3) ONE CRAZY GUY has been much-improved since the beginning of his 3YO campaign and last week's effort was solid; Buter drives again for the Devita barn looking to score in the finale. (4) CAN’T SWAY ME hails from good connections but is 0 for 14 this year and 1 for 23 lifetime. (2) LOOTABLE faced some decent competition at Oak Grove and we'll see if he fits here over the half mile.
