Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 6/30/26

Matt Rose|Jun 29, 2026
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2026 MEET STATS: 152 - 456 / $855.45 (-$56.55)

BEST BETS: 27 - 47 / $88.20 (-$5.80)

BEST BET: BACKSTREET SHADOW (7th)

SPOT PLAY: DRAMAS A (4th)

Race 1: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(3) DISARONNO HILL hasn't been able to seal the deal recently and has burned money along the way but this just feels like a winning spot as she faces a softer field. (4) SWEET SANDY can go on the front or close and last week was a good bounce-back effort. (5) DASH N CACHE returns from Monti and the last time Gingras drove it was an aggressive try from the eight hole.

Race 2: 3-5YO Winners of 2-4 races or $60,000 LT Pace

(1) RAGNAR LOTHBROK N is the latest Down-Under import and is an automatic selection coming off those two live qualifiers. (6) TWIN B FRESH BET has rolled on the front end in his last two and still fits this class. (4) ALL MY LOVIN draws an improved post making his third YR start after arriving from Canada and he figures to be more involved.

Race 3: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) UDDERLY SWEET A debuts for the Bongiorno barn off a winning Gaitway qualifier; again, fresh Aussie import gets the call. (1) PARIS'S DRAGON had turned things around in a big way in his last two in Ohio and Burke decides to ship him out east. I'll never question what this barn does. (3) MAC'S DELIGHT gets Yannick upon arrival at Yonkers making his first start for the Engblom barn; very dangerous.

Race 4: 3-5YO NW2 races or $30,323 LT Pace

(5) DRAMAS A went an eventful trip as the 3/5 favorite last out but his prior starts hinted at ability and we get a much better price tonight. (4) SWEET JOEL has a win a two seconds since arriving for the Alexander barn and he's a logical favorite. (6) ENRIQUE HANOVER recently moved to the Estrada barn and has shown solid improvement.

Race 5: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) BETTER B BOLD drops to a more competitive level in his second start off the bench and he moves to a controlling post; should have the tactical advantage here, especially over (5) MATAI PHIL N, who returns from Tioga and has been great all year. Gets a new driver in Buter. (4) ROCKET CITY A was much better last week and the Lachance trainee fits with these.

Race 6: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) SON OF THE SHARK A is another of the three Down-Under imports on the card that are debuting for Joe Bongiorno and he chased his stablemate in that Gaitway qualifier. I'm tabbing them all on top tonight as we know for the most part historically these types are ready to go at first asking. (3) ZEBS KRAFTY is probably the safer selection as he's been super and fits this class like a glove. (6) MOMENT IS HERE steps up a notch and the Burke trainee hasn't won in a while plus is at a post disadvantage; using underneath.

Race 7: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) BACKSTREET SHADOW jogged in his local return then flew home for third last week from too far back; he may have too much class for these. (3) COPPERFIELD has good early speed and another decent post to flaunt it. (6) DOWNBYTHEWATER is able to drop in class despite winning here last start but the 4YO Toscano trainee moves outside as the least experienced in here.

Race 8: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(7) DELE ROW A has had no luck at the post draw recently but he does drop to face softer and has left from the outside in the past; also hard to ignore his final quarters in his last two. (1) SUMOMENTSOMWHERE A arrives from Ohio after a stop at The Meadows and as previously mentioned Burke does a great job shuffling his stock around to find favorable spots. (3) KEAYANG KAMIKAZE A drops and gets needed post relief; Pete Tritton import is dangerous.

Race 9: NW23671 in last 5 starts Pace

(8) RESILIENT N is by far in the toughest spot of tonight's first-time imports but now's the time to get a big price! Of the more logicals, (3) ESCAPE TO AMERICA is sharp as a tack and steps up again going for four straight. (2) BANDERAS had made a good living in that lucrative Kentucky program despite drawing outside as a longshot in the final; Burke trainee has raced here in the past and could be a good fit.

Race 10: NW8021 in last 5 starts Pace

This field has been extremely camera-shy of late. (2) WATTSUP SUNSHINE A has been showing decent speed of late, drops to a more reasonable level and draws well. (6) SWEETHOMEALABAMA N has been rather dull recently but he's prospered many times against better over the last couple of years and the Stratton trainee is due to awaken. (1) HUNTINGFORCHROME has forgotten how to win and is coming off a sick scratch. This is a soft spot but he's risky.
