MEET STATS: 197 - 544 / $1,116.60 (+$28.60)
BEST BETS: 26 - 55 / $82.80 (-$27.20)
Best Bet: ISLANDSPECIALMAJOR (3rd)
Spot Play: LODI MACHETTE MAN (1st)
Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace
(4) LODI MACHETTE MAN was good off the gate last week and held his ground ok late; veteran should be prominently placed throughout again and can be right there at the wire. (1) VILLAGE CHAMP was second best to the winning frontrunner last start and he lands a good inside post again. (2) BARGAIN SHOPPER hasn't shown much in two starts off the Tom Shay claim but he returns from New Jersey and should fit well here.

Race 2: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(4) SHAKESPEARE was used hard to the lead two back and faltered late as the heavy chalk but last start he really had no visible excuse; Pelling trainee figures to take the money here and gets one more try to convert. (6) THOR AND DR JONES failed to make a major impact upon arrival but that was against a NW4 field; he faces softer tonight and should show more. (2) SOLID ALIBI was in a bit tough in his last few out of town but he raced well here in a couple of starts last month.

Race 3: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) ISLANDSPECIALMAJOR certainly raced well enough to win last week but was run over by the trip-sitting longshot on his back; Shane Tritton trainee draws the rail and deserves top billing. (6) HITMAN HILL stopped badly in his first local start after moving to the Jenn Bongiorno barn but he qualified back in good fashion and should be ready to go. (2) VELOCITY KOMODO finally lands in a realistic spot after three consecutive eight holes.
Race 4: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(8) TOWN GOSSIP clearly needs an alert getaway from this post to have any realistic chance but the Bongiorno trainee has been facing better in recent starts and was a winner here five back. (1) CAPTIVATE HANOVER has a poor trip upon arrival as he flushed unwanted cover that stalled in his face; he seems like he fits well with these and surely will be in line for a better journey. (3) SPORTY DRAGON raced respectably in his first start after shipping all the way from Fraser Downs.
Race 5: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) TOM ME GUN N was a no-match second best to a well-bet and well-meant winner; he steps up a notch but draws the rail again and should be looking at a live trip. (3) CLAYTONS BETTOR N has been facing a bit better recently at Philly, and with moderate success; he does feel like the one to beat but won't offer any value. (6) JOJO'S PLACE invades from Scioto, where he's hit the board in three of his last four (with a win as well).
Race 6: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) TIGERS WAY rallied well last start but just was too far back to seriously threaten; Lachance trainee bumps back up a notch but he figures to be much closer to the action. (5) MISTER DONALD A was used to the lead but once in command Holland stayed on the gas and he powered away; certainly a major threat to repeat. (7) ORILLIA JOE takes a needed drop in class and he still has plenty of early speed if Dube wants to use it.
Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N has been unable to reach in his last couple but the import lands a slightly better post in this wide-open affair and he's as legit as anyone in here. (1) FLYING FINN N finished with plenty in his last couple for the always live Devita barn and now he moves inside. (3) WINSDUN RICKY finished well after overcoming an early break last start and he drops in class tonight.
Race 8: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(2) GAMBLINGTERROR was a sharp winner last week and while he now bumps up a notch to face NW6 types he seems ready to meet the challenge; inside post helps as well. (3) SHINY BLACK BEAMER has been solid in all local efforts for DiDomenico, including just missing last out at 16/1; contender. (1) KING JAMES EXPRESS has been bouncing around the map recently, both in class and location; he should be tighter now than when we saw him here in the Reynolds.
Race 9: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
It's not like (1) THE REAL ONE has been particularly bad in any one of his recent races but he gets to drop to NW10000 tonight. While he's not exactly the gambler's best friend he should be right there at the wire from this spot. (5) QUATRAIN BLUE CHIP has tailed off recently but he's been competitive with this type in the past. (2) DENVER SEELSTER also drops and moves back inside.
Race 10: NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime Pace
(4) DRAGON SAID picked up right where he left off with a wire-to-wire score coming off the two month break. Jenn Bongiorno trainee faces a likely test tonight from (5) SPLASH BROTHER but does have a tactical edge on that one. The latter understandably couldn't get close last out in the Graduate but he raced very well the starts prior and this Schnittker trainee is a legit talent. (6) GARDYS LEGACY A was a good second upon arrival for Andrew Harris but unfortunately he's drawn outside the top pair; use underneath.

Race 11: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) OAKWOODNITOWINIT IR has been looking really good recently over at The Meadows and Burke is great at moving his stock around getting them well-classified so I assume this one will fit in nicely here. (2) LETS HAVE ANOTHER can be excused for last week's accident race; he's got proven speed and a good draw; major threat. (1) BUDDY HILL is in good form but he doesn't have a good Yonkers win record.
Race 12: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) SKIP TO MY LOU gets some needed class relief and also moves all the way inside; an effort similar to the one three back would be good enough to take this. (7) TOOKADIVEOFFDIPPER raced very well from off the pace in his last two at Pocono but we know Lachance can get this veteran out of the gate quickly, and this definitely looks like a spot to employ speed tactics. (4) ANTHEM N is better off a level or two down but he can save ground and pick up a minor share.
