Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 6/14

Matt Rose|Jun 13, 2022
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 188 - 590 / $946.10 (-$233.90)

BEST BETS: 31 - 54 / $131.30 (+$23.30)

Best Bet: BAY CITY (5th)

Spot Play: HE'S A SNOB (6th)

Race 1: F&M NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(4) HEAVEN SENT ME ships in to join the Devita barn coming off a lifetime mark at Oak Grove. In this soft field the filly looks like a nice fit. (6) HESTON HONEY jogged two back and was a good second from the seven hole last week. Lorentzon trainee clearly looks like the one to beat, and figures to take plenty of money. (5) ONE EYED WANDA faltered on the lead in her last couple at Pocono but rallied well from off the pace in prior efforts, so she does seem better suited trying to rally late.

Race 2: F&M NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace

(5) MIKI ROSE has been rock-solid moving up the conditioned ranks since joining the Per Engblom barn. Filly goes for a third straight and is a neck shy of a perfect four-for-four local record. (3) GABBY'S GIRL has also been sharp here, though she has only one win and bunch of runner-up efforts. Second best again? (4) SHEZAFREAKLIKEME clearly has talent for trainer/driver Stacy Chiodo and she held for a board spot after an uncovered trip last week.

Race 3: NW50000 in last 5 starts Pace

Tough race to gauge here as two of the top contenders that hail from leading barns have questionable current form. (4) REMEMBER THE BEACH was in a different zip code in his debut for Dowse but he qualified back effectively and now gets Bartlett to drive. (2) MIKEY CAMDEN stopped in his local debut for Jenn Bongiorno but maybe now they have the Maritimes shipper figured out. (3) FIZZING N failed at odds-on last start; price goes way up tonight.

Race 4: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace

(7) SAMSON BLUE CHIP lands another outside post but he has more than enough speed to compensate and Bartlett has done a great job getting him live trips. (3) HIGH ST CORRIDOR just missed in a game try last start and that's two consecutive good efforts for the Devita trainee. (2) BONDI SHAKE N moves back inside for owner/trainer/driver Austin Siegelman and he figures to be more involved.

Race 5: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(4) BAY CITY is still shut out on the season in five tries but he's been close up with better than these and the Erv Miller trainee looks perfectly spotted in this NW2 class. (1) BEST BETTOR is 0 for 14 and counting lifetime but he's hit the board in his last four at Pocono and Philly. (5) CAPTAIN BUTLER was no match here last week in a quick mile but the Alagna trainee looks like he can contend for a share.

Race 6: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(6) HE'S A SNOB was a live second last week for Schnittker and connections and he faces much of the same class tonight. If MacDonald gets him away in good order he seems more than capable of taking this. (2) MAJOR SHOW was a big upset winner last start in a NW4 at Pocono and he draws well here; contender. (4) HE'S GONNA GETYA had no chance in his last start but prior efforts were competitive. At 0 for 15 this season he's risky for the top spot but can certainly land a share with Bartlett getting the call.

Race 7: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(3) WOODMERE SKYROLLER has maintained her form nicely in two starts off the Laterza claim and young driver Braxton Boyd gets along well with her. She won't offer much of a price but does deserve top billing looking to make it two straight. (6) CAVIART CHERIE raced well last week in her local return and can certainly build off that effort. (7) FEELIN RED HOT is always a contender with her strong early speed. She was good last week coming from off the pace, however.

Race 8: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(4) SPOCK A has taken two of three by open lengths since arriving from Down-Under for Linda Toscano and the five-year-old likely has more to offer. (5) ROYAL TANG has looked very sharp in two local starts since shipping down from Canada after missing a couple of months of action. Hard not to include him. (2) TUFFENUFTOWEARPINK paced a good back half to be third best upon arrival and he's well-spotted to land another share.

Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) AIR FORCE HANOVER put in a rugged effort in defeat facing better last out and the start prior he was second best to a horse that was shot from a cannon. From the rail Dube may be looking to take this field down the road. (4) MY CARBON COPY N took a few weeks off after stopping in his last race but he did qualify nicely and faces a bit softer. (7) TYGA HANOVER was in the Borgata (though overmatched) when we last saw him at Yonkers and obviously he fits with this type. Post presents a problem, however.
