Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 6/11

Matt Rose|Jun 10, 2024
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2024 MEET STATS: 187 - 654 / $1,023.50 (-$284.50)

BEST BETS: 27 - 56 / $103.10 (-$8.90)

BEST BET: ROCK DIAMONDS N (1st)

SPOT PLAY: BIG BIG PLANS (11th)

Race 1: $60,000-$75,000 Claiming Pace

(5) ROCK DIAMONDS N looked strong last week and faces much of the same tonight; Bongiorno veteran is a deserving odds-on favorite. (2) CENTURY ENDEAVOR steps up for the third consecutive start since arriving from Saratoga and he's likely to sit a pocket trip to the top choice. (1) MICKY GEE N was awful last week but he is right back in so I guess nothing's wrong with him. This guy has been impossible to predict for years.

Race 2: F&M $25,000 Claiming Pace

(4) ON THE MONEY GB was a winner two back when dropped to this level then was off in a tangle last start and went just evenly from there. With unreliable speed to her inside she may be worth a try. (1) SAUBLE DELIGHTFUL lands the rail so Kakaley will be able to control things if he desires; she's not too far removed from a three-race win streak. (5) CORAL BELLA can still leave the gate well and Bartlett drives again after trying to send her down the road last week up at Monticello; will be a price.

Race 3: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(6) PLEASURE SEEKER has been consistent in all recent efforts and she's got the early speed to be in play. She can take this if not used too hard. (3) EVAS SPORTS CZECH goes for two straight after last week's nice two-move effort but the price goes way down now. (4) ITTY BITTY gets a mention again maybe to hit the board but she may be all washed up. Veteran can still leave the gate well on occasion.

Race 4: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(2) DANDY'S SHOWTIME was uncovered and challenging the leader last week before being swallowed up from behind; Engblom trainee paced a big back half in the start prior to score and she's clearly capable with a better trip. (3) PINK RUBY has burned money since the Stratton claim but she did hold well last week after a long trip. (6) ROLL WITH SHORTY could be a speed option here at a price in a race that doesn't seem to have a ton of early foot.

Race 5: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(1) PRINCESS ARONA was a close second last week to #5 in here going first out for Garcia-Herrera off the $20K claim and she fits this class well. Post advantage could get her over the top. (4) TYRA MAKES BANK could not last in her initial appearance for new connections and she was slammed to 3/5 in that race; price will go up now. (5) UNITY was a rated winner for the Hudson barn with Buter picking up the drive and he gets the call again.

Race 6: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) NAUTICAL HANOVER has acclimated very well since arriving from Canada a few months back and he drops back to the level of his last win. Look for a driver change with Lachance unfortunately injured. (4) WALKINSHAW N isn't as sharp as he used to be but he's got plenty of class and last week's effort was improved. (1) STRENGTHFROMABOVE steps up a level after finishing second in his local return but he does land the rail and this doesn't appear to be the toughest field.

Race 7: 3-6YO Winners 2-4 races or $64,629 lifetime Pace

(3) TENACIOUS HANOVER didn't race as a 2YO and the Toscano trainee seems to be steadily improving with experience. With the exception of #2 this is an easier field than he's faced recently in the PA Sire stakes. (6) RENAISSANCE DEO has been the best of the locals and he's got the speed to clear the front. (2) SWEET BEACH LIFE won a leg of the PASS back in May but broke at Philly on their stakes Sunday card and now tries the half for the Alexander barn.

Race 8: 3-6YO Winners 2-4 races or $60,000 lifetime Pace

(1) ICACO HANOVER was a nice second in his local debut and the Dilloian trainee can build off that effort; Bartlett gets the drive with Holland opting to #2. (4) ROYAL DESIRE blew away a soft field of NW1 types to break his maiden and the 1:53 3/5 time suggests he's ready to face better. (5) SINBAD N has clear ability for Pete Tritton but figures to be at a disadvantage with his apparent lack of early speed.

Race 9: NW1 race or $23,721 lifetime Pace

(2) STONEBRIDGE PATROL finished willingly to a runaway winner last week and now the Engblom trainee can build off that effort with Bartlett returning to the bike. (3) BANGIN didn't offer up much recently until he gave Freehold a try and he jogged in 1:56 2/5 with Marohn Jr in the bike, and he drives again looking for success against better. (4) EURO STEP hasn't done much to get excited about in his 3YO season but maybe new driver Kakaley steps him up a notch.

Race 10: NW15541 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) SAVE AMERICA made just 10 starts as a 3YO after a good freshman campaign but he earned over $100K and established a mark of 1:48 1/5. This season the Takter trainee needed just two starts to find the winner's circle and while he faces much more seasoned foes here it's a good test for this gelding. (3) REIGNING DEO raced very well from off the pace in his last couple at the $60K claiming level and the connections must be respected. (4) FORTIFY steps up for Burke off a well-rated win.

Race 11: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(1) BIG BIG PLANS raced decently at big prices in her two starts at this level and now she lands the rail and picks up Burke's #1 option in Brennan. Maybe we see 'big big' speed from the 4YO. (2) BADDITUDE put in two solid efforts with these before scratching sick and missing some time. Estrada trainee should be able to improve off that latest effort. (7) PURE SILKY was close at a price last out from the eight hole and she figures to offer some value again.
