Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 5/4

MEET STATS: 133 - 369 / $692.40 (-$45.60)
BEST BETS: 18 - 37 / $57.90 (-$16.10)
Best Bet: FIREBALL (4th)
Spot Play: REDBANK BLAZE A (8th)
Race 1: NW2 races or $25,000 Lifetime Pace
(1) SOCRATES BLUE CHIP was bet down to odds-on favoritism in his second local start and did not disappoint with a solid uncovered score. 3-year-old pretty much gets a free ride here and will be a very short price looking to repeat. (3) HIGH ST CORRIDOR was second best to the top one for the sharp Devita barn and will look to complete another logical exacta. (6) SARANAC BLUE CHIP was a good second here two back but that was with a smooth trip from the rail; he's drawn outside tonight but could rally into the number.

Race 2: NW5301 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) SHNEONUCRZYDIAMND A was bet down to the favorite from the eight hole in his Yonkers return but was pretty much invisible the entire mile. Drop in class and better post promises to have this classy gelding more involved. (2) IMSTAYNALIVE was third best in his last two for Lachance and has been chasing better in all recent; main threat. (1) ELRAMA N closed for minor shares from tough spots in his last two; veteran moves all the way inside tonight for Nick Clegg, who has been racking up the miles lately between Ohio and NY.

Race 3: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) BENHOPE RULZ N was aggressively handled last week facing better and battled hard before tiring; drop and move inside should help him get it done. (7) FOREVER FAV was second best to a class-dropper off the Jenn Bongiorno claim and if he can overcome the outside post early he'll be a big threat. (2) ALTA LEROY N will likely be saving ground close-up and can garner a share.
Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) ART SCENE woke up with a winning effort last out at Freehold and that could get this veteran turned in the right direction; he does have plenty of back class. (4) RETOUR AU JEU showed a lot of promise early in the season before tailing off; he raced well last start at Pocono so like the top choice he's trending upwards. (6) AWESOMENESS has a new trainer listed tonight (Gillis); shows more?
Race 5: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) FIREBALL was an explosive winner second start out for his new barn and he's generally been facing better in all his starts the last couple of years so the hike in class doesn't concern me. (3) MARK WITH A K faltered on the front last week but overall he's been racing pretty well. (6) EPIC ACE drops to the level of his last win and should offer a good price.
Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) WINNING LINC had been hinting at a win down at Freehold and he broke through last week with an off-the-pace score; he gets Bartlett back in the bike for his local return and there was a time where this gelding was really good here. (1) SOHO LEVIATHAN A moves back inside, has speed and fits well with these; Vallee trainee is very logical. (2) MR BIG WIG raced evenly for a share coming off a sick scratch and the DiDomenico trainee is in a decent spot here.
Race 7: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(3) SUMTHINBOUTIM closed very crisply from last in his previous start and he gets post relief now while reunited with Brennan, who drove him to a couple of wins back in March. (6) FLYING FINN N moves to age-restricted company after finishing second to Caviart Luca; he may very well have been the top choice if not for the post. (4) BETTOR AT HIGHTIDE was a good second last week to a streaking rival.

Race 8: NW15050 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) REDBANK BLAZE A has been keeping company with some tough ones recently; drop in class and inside draw make the Godinez trainee the one to beat. (4) KERFORD ROAD A went a smooth trip last week and did finish well at a big price when called upon; he's proven to be a good fit with this type and would be no surprise. (2) PERFECTLY CLOSE is up the class ladder again looking for three straight.
Race 9: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) SILAS SEELSTER didn't get involved last week and weakened chasing a hot pace the start prior but he was pretty good prior to that and everything from the Devita barn deserves respect. (2) ONE OFF DELIGHT A is always right there when drawn well and he figures to get a decent trip. (8) ANTHEM N drops in class again; does Stratton take a shot and send him?
