2023 MEET STATS: 157 - 428 / $738.70 (-$117.30)
BEST BETS: 25 - 40 / $82.00 (+$2.00)
BEST BET: BEN SOLO (8th)
SPOT PLAY: CHUPPAH ON (1st)
Race 1: Can you go the distance? F&M Pace 1 1/16 miles
(6) CHUPPAH ON raced decently two back in the shortened affair and also put in her usual effort last week, finishing close. Tonight with a bit of extra run into the first turn she should have little trouble clearing the front and may end up with the best trip. (1) BETTER WATCH IT appreciated the move back to the traditional distance; obvious live contender is a threat to repeat. (4) ACEFORTYFOUR ALEX always picks up a check; Bartlett can save ground for a share.

Race 2: 3-5YO NW4 races or $57,764 lifetime Pace
(5) DUVAL STREET had an encouraging 2YO campaign and three productive starts this season at The Meadowlands. Nifty Norman trainee looks like a solid fit here but lands outside some proven speed types; if Stratton lays close he may be freshest late. (3) TACK ROOM CHATTER seems the one to beat on the strength of two consecutive easy front-end-wins. (2) MY MIKI BEACH has been on the shelf for almost 10 months but that was a good qualifier signaling he's ready for action.

Race 3: Can you go the distance? F&M Pace 1 1/16 miles
(2) KAITLYN N used to be a top-class pacer who is quietly turning things around for the rejuvenated Blumenfeld barn. With smooth sailing she seems capable. (4) TONY’S MOM hails from top connections and is the clear one to beat going for five straight. (3) SALE EL SOL was a decent second last week and lands a good enough starting spot.
Race 4: NW22271 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) BOILING OAR returns to Bartlett in the bike and will undoubtedly be forwardly placed off the gate. If the Cullipher trainee makes the front without too much trouble he could be tough to pass. (3) PHOENIX OF FLUZZY acclimated well last week and should be in the thick of this. (4) DELIGHTFUL DUDE N is a versatile sort and was Stratton's pick over #5.
Race 5: 2-4YO NW1 race or $12,500 lifetime Pace
(3) ESTEEM made just one start as a freshman and it was a poor effort, but he started this year with a front-end win and then an aggressive try in defeat. He ships from Pocono into a live spot. (4) JOHNNY SACK went 0 for 10 as a freshman chasing mostly NYSS types but the Schnittker trainee picked up over 41K; he looks ready to roll off that qualifier. (2) HOLD MY DRINK has speed from a good post.
Race 6: Can you go the distance? F&M Pace 1 1/16 miles
(1) GOLDEN QUEST N has been solid in practically every start since moving to the Bongiorno last fall and she jogged in leg two of this series at the mile distance. From this spot with the slightly added distance Joe B may need to two-move for control but the results should be the same. (4) CORAL BELLA was hung to dry last week and understandably backed away. Veteran mare should be looking at a clear path to the front this time and then can yield and stay close. (5) MIKI ROSE can't possibly be as bad as she was last week; she’s right back in the box which is a good sign and Bartlett is back driving.
Race 7: 3-5YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(4) IT’S A ME MARIO is a perfect three-for-three this season for the Shane Tritton barn and though it seems he may need to work a bit harder here to win again he deserves the chance; top call. (5) CENTURY INSPECTOR landed a board spot last week at the NW6 level; drawing outside the favorites doesn't help but it adds value to this Norman trainee. (3) THAT DOG WILL HUNT had some moderate success at the NYSS excelsior level and just missed in his seasonal debut up at Tioga.

Race 8: 3-5YO NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(1) BEN SOLO paced a big third quarter in the Revere Pace up at Plainridge and though he was caught that was a great effort in his 3YO debut; figure he handles these easily. (2) METAL MAN looks like he's following the same routine as the top one as he's finished in that one's shadow the last two times on the track; Alexander trainee gets Kakaley back in the bike. (3) LIVONJAXANDQUEENS hasn't hit the board in four Meadowlands starts this year but his final-quarter splits have been good.
Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) ROCKIN WITHELVIS A wired similar to these last week at 15 cents on the dollar and paced home in 1:51 3/5. Obviously he's a likely repeater but there's zero value to be had. (6) DIAMONDBEACH drops a notch in class and can be forwardly placed; if Brennan can find a seat near the front he can hit the ticket at a price. (5) SHAKE IT chased the top one willingly in last week's start and the Engblom trainee gets the leading driver Bartlett in the bike.
