MEET STATS: 167 - 452 / $940.30 (+$36.30)

Best Bet: SUMTHINBOUTIM (10th)
Spot Play: DON DOMINGO N (8th)
Race 1: Maiden Pace
(3) BIDEN NATION only has one lifetime start but it was a decent second-place effort and he recently qualified effectively for the Andrew Harris barn, which has been going well of late. (1) SPINNAKER HANOVER has raced well enough in his three recent starts down at Philly to suggest that he's ready to pick up that first win. (4) HAPPY CAMPER lingered at the back throughout in his 2021 debut last week but he was timed in 1:56, which seems fast enough to be competitive here.

Race 2: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(2) THINKING OF SLIM ships from Canada for the Jeff Gillis barn and he had a maiden-breaking win at Mohawk before the shutdown. Local qualifier was good and he should be ready to roll. (3) OLD TOWN ROAD had a decent showing as a two-year old in NY-bred Excelsior races and he makes his sophomore debut off a couple of effective qualifiers. (1) SOLID ALIBI gets Brennan back in the bike for his 2021 debut and the three-year-old draws the innermost post.

Race 3: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) BLATANTLY BEST showed improvement last week but overall the $25K claim by DiDomenico did not work out at all; note he's back with his prior connections tonight and he'll likely be a nice price. (2) LUCIANO N drops to NW5000, moves inside and was a winner when last at this level. (3) HUDSEN A had late pace in his local return but was too far back to threaten; post relief helps.
Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) BELTANE A takes a needed drop in class and the Lance Hudson trainee promises to be more involved tonight; Zeron picks up the drive. (2) BORDER CONTROL A had a nice winter in Florida and he has plenty of local experience. (4) TOM ME GUN N also faces a bit softer tonight and he was a decent third last start chasing better.
Race 5: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(3) TREVOR'S ACE returns locally after a nice run in the Weiss at Pocono where he missed a nose in the final; he faces some good ones in here but I'll give him the slight edge. (1) SOCRATES BLUE CHIP has looked super in three local tries and he tries NW4 types now. (5) MAJOR BEAN has a recent win and a second at this level; Brennan gets the drive now for the DiDomenico barn.
Race 6: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) MAROMA BEACH has been facing better in all recent, including his last start at the $40K claiming level where the winner went in 1:51 4/5. He's not the most reliable sort but he should go well from this spot. (5) GLACIS also drops in class and recently added Lasix for Lachance; he's still looking for his first seasonal win after going only 2 for 21 last year. Don't go crazy with him at a short price. (2) LUCK AND ROLL K took ALL the money last out at The Meadowlands and pummeled a weak field; he faces better here and McNair is driving again.
Race 7: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) ON THE VIRG wired this type two back then finished well last week but had a bit too far to come; he already has four wins on the season and fits this class well. (4) YAYAS HOT SPOT N is one of many Shane Tritton trainees that have been underperforming but he does get class and post relief, plus a switch to Bartlett. (2) GHOST DANCE moves to the DiDomenico barn and he hasn't been all that bad of late.
Race 8: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) DON DOMINGO N lands his best post in quite some time and the Lance Hudson-trained veteran can be aggressively handled tonight. (1) BILBO HANOVER almost stole it at 39/1 last out; he figures to be speedy again off the gate and can work out a share facing better. (2) DANCIN DRAGON is up the class ladder again looking for three straight.

Race 9: NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime Pace
In a very competitive NW8 event, (3) BLU CREW returns from Philly off a sharp 1:50 1/5 win for the DiDomenico barn and from this spot he may be able to grind his way to another victory. (5) LEVINE had to settle for second best in his local return and the Zeron-owned four-year-old should be prominent again. (7) QUAGMIRE BLUECHIP has really blossomed this season for Chuck Connor. Tough spot here, but maybe he can sneak in to the number at a price.
Race 10: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(4) SUMTHINBOUTIM closed a ton two back from last to finish third, then took all the money last week and went wire-to-wire. He gets another crack with similar and can double up. (1) SAILBOAT HANOVER returns locally for Burke and should be in line for a good stalking trip. (3) KEYSTONE DAKOTA gets tested a bit for class here but he’s been on quite a form up at Saratoga.
