2024 MEET STATS: 102 - 331 / $559.10 (-$102.90) BEST BETS: 17 - 28 / $62.30 (+$6.30) BEST BET: CHIMICHURRI N (9th) SPOT PLAY: SAUBLE DELIGHTFUL (3rd) Race 1: $60,000-$75,000 Claiming Pace (3) DP REALORDEAL steps back in to claimers for the Bongiorno barn off a pair of very close defeats, including last week's nose loss after cutting the mile at a big price. Having a post edge on most of his main rivals may make the difference. (5) TUFFENUFTOWEARLINK is reunited with Stratton, who picks up the catch drive on the Burke trainee. (8) POINTOMYGRANSON lands the worst post as he's in for the highest tag but he's forwardly placed every start and may have enough raw speed to overcome the handicap. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M $60,000-$75,000 Claiming Pace (4) WHATINEEDISAMAN was uncovered a long way in debut for Laterza off the claim and gamely prevailed; sharp short can repeat at what may still be a fair price in this oversized five-horse affair. (5) JIVE DANCING A was a powerful winner in the Matchmaker consolation and obviously has the credentials to repeat. (1) NO WIN NO FEED A came from off the pace last week following the top choice; tonight she'll be part of the pace scenario. Race 3: F&M $25,000 Claiming Pace (4) SAUBLE DELIGHTFUL failed to hit the board in her last two at this claiming level but wasn't that far off in either try. Mare picks up Bartlett tonight and looks to have a clear path to the front. (5) TERACITA was held at bay last week at odds-on and was claimed by DiDomenico. Staying at the same level makes her a major player again. (1) JUST ROSAS LUCK has the benefit of the rail draw and a pocket trip seems likely. Race 4: NW11401 in last 5 starts Pace (5) KINGSBRIDGE takes an important drop in class even lower than levels he's been successful at and should be 'all systems go' tonight. (2) SPLASH BROTHER also drops and is usually aggressively handled from inside posts; if he can cross over the rail horse early that makes him double the threat. (4) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE has been a consistent money burner all season though he may offer a fair price tonight. Race 5: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (1) FLIP THE SCRIPT almost rolled over the field last week which signals a probable return to top form and now she can control these from the rail. (6) ALWAYS B MIMI has been a close second in her last two and she can be right there again if Holland can get her close enough from this post. (5) PINK RUBY changes barns and drivers; form is good enough to win assuming she responds for new connections. 2/1 ML is a turnoff, however. Race 6: 3-5YO Winners of 3-5 races or $60,000 LT Pace It took a few starts for (4) FANTOME EN JOIE to hit top gear but he pummeled a similar field in a new life mark and he looks ready to repeat for the same connections who recently brought home the Matchmaker trophy. (1) RENNAISSANCE DEO steps up for Tritton/Bartlett off a 1/5 wire job, still fits the NW2 AE condition so he's inside again. (6) RAYRAY picks up a new driver in Brennan and maybe he wakes him up a bit Race 7: 2-5YO Winners of 2 races or $25,000 LT Pace (3) SURFRIDER makes his second start for the Engblom after arriving from Canada after a third-place finish at Pocono. Bartlett drove him there and he sticks with the 3YO over a live Tritton trainee. (1) SKIPFROMTHETOP IR was hammered down to 1/5 last start and faltered on the front end and now has been off three weeks. Did I mention Bartlett bailed? Clearly the talent is there, however. (7) SNAP COUNT draws another poor post making his second 3YO start so that may limit him to a smaller share. Race 8: 3-6YO Winners of 3-5 races or $60,000 LT Pace (5) VICI has raced well enough to win in all recent but can't get over the hump; slight post improvement may give Joe B. the path he needs to make the front. (1) HUNTERS HERO raced conservatively last week and made a late run finishing in :27 1/5; main threat from the rail. (4) SINBAD N has had a little trouble getting his North American career underway but that recent qualifier is certainly an eye-opener. Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) CHIMICHURRI N is two for two since arriving stateside for Shane Tritton and the sky may be the limit for this import. Bartlett stays with this guy over the Engblom trainee. (1) BURNHAM BOY N is a proven entity at this and higher levels; Dilloian trainee beat similar four back. (4) FORTIFY takes a needed drop in class and Brennan gets the call again on the Burke trainee. Race 10: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (4) BADDITUDE had been okay since bumping up to this $50K claiming level and she's likely to offer value with more attractive options inside of her, but with a trip I'm thinking new driver Stratton could have a chance at a price. (2) YS SENSATIONALCITY has failed to hold on in two straight but still looms the one to beat. (3) DREAM DANCING finally steps up in class after being claimed yet again; mare certainly is sharp. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: NW22561 in last 5 starts Pace (3) ULTIMAROCA isn't quite on pace to have the same success he saw in 2023 but he's still a solid pacer from proven connections and the class relief affords Stratton to be more aggressive. (5) ITS A ME MARIO is a head shy of being 6 for 6 to start his 4YO campaign and he keeps squeezing into AE conditions so he can avoid the top levels. Note it's been three weeks since his last race. (2) ALL ALONE will offer some value with Bartlett opting off for #5; Zeron picks up the drive. Race 12: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace Many options in the finale...(5) ROLL WITH SHORTY ended up with a good trip and was able to scoot by rivals late. Midpack post gives Stratton some options but with unreliable speed in here she could be rolling late again. (2) MARATHON MARY grinded her last couple and held well for board spots; Tritton trainee draws well again. (1) SHIEKH YABOOTY N figures to be the pacesetter again or at least no worse than the pocket, and she's won twice from that trip this year.
