2024 MEET STATS: 68 - 224 / $400.60 (-$47.40) BEST BETS: 11 - 19 / $39.50 (+$1.50) BEST BET: HAZEVILLE (7th) SPOT PLAY: ROCK DIAMONDS N (1st) Race 1: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (7) ROCK DIAMONDS N just missed in his second try off the bench and the Bongiorno trainee figures to be even tighter this time around. Yes the outside post is tough but I just think he's best in here and this is a chance to get a price. (4) BLANK STARE lands a bit better post and is capable with a live setup; Todd McCarthy is listed on the Cullipher trainee. (1) SAVE ME A DANCE drops a notch and goes from 7 hole to rail in his second start off the five month break in action. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 3-5YO winners of 6-9 races or $125K lifetime Pace (1) NIGHT HAWK wired the field in his last two and gets to stay in the same class while drawing the rail in this bulky five-horse affair. (3) ERVIN HANOVER recently returned as a 4YO now in the Cullipher barn after flirting with stakes success as a youngster with the Burke Brigade. Here's the one who has the best chance of defeating the top choice. (5) TRAIN STATION has been super for months but he gets a real test tonight. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: F&M $25,000 Claiming Pace (4) ALWAYS B MIMI steps up a notch off the Laterza claim but she's won with this type in the past. Midpack draw here in wide-open race gives Holland options. (2) WHATINEEDISAMAN is logical coming off a win and a second for these connections; overbet though? (5) DREAM DANCING goes for yet another new barn off the claim and gets Gingras back, who won with her last month. Race 4: NW20871 in last 5 starts Pace (1) ITS A ME MARIO is impressing more and more each time out and the lightly-raced 4YO could be the real deal. Odds-on from the rail. (5) POINTOMYGRANSON has been on a major roll since returning to Yonkers a few months back and he's the main threat. (4) SAMHARA N figures to be moving fastest late and can land a share. Race 5: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (4) ITTY BITTY has been "okay" for the Engblom barn but I love mentioning her back class and Bartlett should be able to handle her more aggressively from this spot. (1) SPITTING IMAGE gets major post relief; shows more? (5) CHARMING VIXEN has been a perfect fit at this claiming level but Gingras opts off for #7. Race 6: NW5053 in last 5 starts Pace (5) GENIUS MAN broke leaving last week when leaving the gate and overall he hasn't done much but he's still tough to pass on at this bottom level. (4) KIMBLE A is getting closer to an overdue win; this is definitely a live spot. (6) THE REAL ONE has just one start since December but it wasn't bad. Time really flies when you realize the Lachance trainee is now 14 and I'll bet he'll have his moments this year. Closing threat here. Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) HAZEVILLE had a nice 4YO season and has been close in two 2024 tries. Fanning trainee drops in class and looks ready to roll. (1) JAHAN HANOVER is always a major threat when drawn inside. (6) YOROKOBI N looks to be in a tough spot but he's talented enough to find his way onto the ticket. Race 8: NW10381 in last 5 starts Pace (2) SPEED MAN N never puts in a bad race and his tactical speed ensures the lead or a pocket trip; classy veteran deserves top billing, however (3) BIG GULP is likely to give him a fight. The gelding rolled by lesser first-time Engblom/Batlett. (6) SPORTY M THREE could not reach from the eight hole last out versus NW15K types; Burke student hit the board in his previous five. Race 9: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (5) ELISES DELIGHT trailed last out from the eight hole but she was a good second two back as #2 in here rolled by late. Repeat of that effort should put her right there at the wire. (4) VIBRANCE doesn't have the prettiest recent lines but the Burke team keeps her at this same level and the 4YO has a 1:52 4/5 mark here from February. (8) PURE SILKY has wired this type in two straight but now has to start from the dreaded eight hole. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: 2-5YO NW2 races or $28,284 lifetime Pace (4) FANTOME EN JOIE hasn't found the winner's circle yet in four starts after arriving from Canada for Lachance, who has a proven track record with these types. Win should be coming soon. (6) SKIFROMTHETOP IR has raced well in every U.S. start and the Shane Tritton trainee is another who is overdue for that first local win, and he's got the speed to overcome the outside draw. (3) IDEAL PAR starts his 3YO campaign for the Alexander barn off one decent-looking Florida qualifier. Race 11: 3-5YO winners of 3-6 races or $60K lifetime Pace (3) CHIEF CORLEONE has been aggressively handled in his last three and has raced well with a couple of on-the-board finishes. With a post edge on a couple of his main rivals I'll give him a try. (1) TWO FACED was uninvolved last week but right there in prior three; he's a major player tonight. Both (6) STATESIDE DEUCE GB and (7) WRY are legit talents in here who have to overcome tough spots. #6 can leave, #7 will probably be coming from last. Race 12: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (3) PRINCESS ARONA raced well to be second best last week and drawing inside the speedy #4 I wouldn't be surprised if Bartlett took an aggressive stance off the gate to work out the winning trip. (4) SHEIKH YABOOTY N will most likely be clearing the front at some point and will have to be caught. (1) AINTNOHOLLABACKGRL always picks up a check and will be stalking with an alert getaway.
