Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 4/13

MEET STATS: 114 - 309 / $598.70 (-$19.30)
BEST BETS: 15 - 31 / $49.60 (-$12.40)
Best Bet: MAJOR BEAN (3rd)
Spot Play: ON THE VIRG (4th)
Race 1: NW2 races or $26,000 lifetime Pace
(1) THE COOKIE MONSTER is a late-blooming 4-year-old who has gotten off to a nice start at Dover and now ships in to join the DiDomenico barn; I suspect the homebred will have little trouble acclimating locally. (2) LINNYCALLEDFRANKIE dominated upon arrival for Toscano and obviously it would be no surprise to watch him repeat. (3) MOXLEY draws the best of the others and has the speed to secure a close-up trip.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) MACH TIME N makes his second start at this reduced level and moves in a couple of slots; veteran did pace a decent back half last out and he has a legit chance here. (2) RANCOUSY scored up at Saratoga second time out for his new connections and he's got plenty of local experience. (5) TIGERS WAY was outfinished from the pocket last week facing better; class relief helps.

Race 3: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
It's been "so far so good" for (5) MAJOR BEAN as he's two-for-two since shipping south from Canada; versatile gelding can take another here. (6) ROLLING WITH SAM put in a nice showing throughout the M Life series and the Burke trainee was second best to the top one last week; another good placing is probable. (3) BRAZEN BRAZILIAN basically went through the motions last out from the eight hole; he moves back inside and should enjoy a close-up trip.
Race 4: NW10600 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) ON THE VIRG was a wire-to-wire winner the last time he was at this level and his last few weren't all that bad but he was just a bit outclassed; he should find these more to his liking. (5) DON DOMINGO N has a couple of recent second-place efforts to the likes of Bettor Memories and Soho Lennon A; Hudson trainee should also benefit from facing a bit softer. (3) GLACIS never misses a check but is also 0 for 10 and counting this year; use underneath.
Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) SCRAPPIN GOLD shows a recent win versus bottom-feeders at Pocono and he was generally facing better when last seen at Yonkers; he lands a good enough post to stay close to the action and he could be freshest late to gun down (2) THE REV. The latter drops to NW5000, has speed, back class and a good post. He'll be a short price, however. (7) CAROLINA MAGIC was done no favors at the post draw but he's been earning his keep recently facing better and he was a winner when last at this level.
Race 6: NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime Pace
(5) DIAMOND BEACH came up second best in his last two to a streaking rival; speedy gelding should be in a position to control these again and can take them the distance. (3) QUAGMIRE BLUECHIP has quickly blossomed into a very nice overnight competitor but it would be nice to see some early speed added to his arsenal. (2) GALANTE A has been very sharp for Vallee and goes for three straight.
Race 7: NW15200 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) VIRGIN STORM didn't fire last week but finished very well the start prior; he lands a decent starting spot in this wide-open event and should be a fair price. (1) ORILLIA JOE has plenty of early speed and he gets a much-improved post as well; veteran could trip out here. (6) KERFORD ROAD A may need some help from this spot but he can go with these and will probably be a double-digit price.

Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) HIGHLAND TARTAN gave it a shot last week from the eight hole but could not last; he drops in class again, moves inside and should be the one to catch. (5) DANCIN DRAGON was okay last week as he looks like he's racing himself back into shape; he's got plenty of class. (3) BLATANTLY BEST was awful off the DiDomenico claim but at least he's right back in to go.
Race 9: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(2) IM A GIGOLO N never got involved last week when he was 57/1 from the outside. Burke trainee goes second-time Lasix and gets major post relief. (5) MISTER REBBILY A went a horror trip last out as the odds-on fave when he was denied the front but he didn't tire all that badly; obviously a smoother trip can net better results. (6) SUMTHINBOUTIM came up second best to a sharp rival last start; will there be another speed try coming tonight?
Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) MACHING TIME debuts for Garcia-Herrera off the $15K claim and his main man Dube gets in the bike; that's a good enough angle for me in this competitive finale. (1) TELL THEM LOU just missed two back in his seasonal debut and the Laterza trainee now draws inside; not sure about that 7/5 morning line but he does have a legit chance. (6) WINDSUN RICKY wasn't all that far back last week and he faces a bit softer now.
