Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 3/2

Matt Rose|Mar 01, 2021
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 54 - 159 / $298.50 (-$19.50)
BEST BETS: 10 - 16 / $34.70 (+$2.70)
Best Bet:
PETTYCOAT BUSINESS (1st)
Spot Play: HERRICKROOSEVELT N (8th)

Race 1: M Life Rewards Ladies Pacing Series

(6) PETTYCOAT BUSINESS was a Breeders Crown finalist as a 3-year-old and she came back with a nice qualifier and a solid try in her 2021 debut. DiDomenico trainee looks like she should roll over these. (2) FLIRTY FORTY has progressively gotten better in her first few seasonal efforts and she can land a nice piece from this inside post. (1) SOUND IDEA had a decent 3-year-old season in Ontario and she could be ready for action off that lone qualifier at The Meadowlands.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(6) ESA arrived from the Big M last week and gave it a good speed try before weakening to second. Early speed should set him up nicely again this week. (2) CLARION HALL gets some needed class relief as well as a nice inside post; gelding hasn't shown it lately but he does like to win. (5) BAZILLIONAIRE never seriously threatened last out and finished third best; he should be considered for a minor award again.

Race 3: M Life Rewards Ladies Pacing Series

(3) READY SET ROCK finished very willingly last week at a big price for a barn that's generally been live this season. Mare should appreciate the post relief and she seems capable of coming from just off the pace to score. (5) DRAGON ROLL didn’t get involved last out but she wired NW3's the start prior; she looks like the main speed here. (2) FIREFLY likely benefitted from last week's acclimating mile.

Race 4: M Life Rewards Ladies Pacing Series

(8) DOC’S HARMONY had a decent sophomore season up in Canada and she looked very sharp in her 4-year-old debut over at Pocono; eight hole is no picnic but it will help her price. Let's hope Buter can improve position early to give her the best chance. (3) SOMEBEACHSOMEFRA has taken three of her last five on the front end; obvious player. (4) SPECIAL ACHIEVER chose to qualify the other day and tightened nicely.

Race 5: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(5) IM A GIGOLO N hit town for Burke and cruised on the front end at odds-on. Sweet Lou offspring basically gets a free ride here and should be tough to defeat. (4) BLU CREW is two-for-two since arriving from Canada and joining the DiDomenico barn, including handily beating a field of veterans last out at Freehold. He looks like the main threat to the top one. (2) ILLBEWATCHINGU has just gone evenly in his last couple of starts but he does draw inside of his main competition here and should land a piece.

Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) CAMPORA N broke in the early stages last out ending his night early but he had been decent in prior efforts and the Vallee barn has had some live ones recently. (3) MILITARY MASTER A failed to seriously threaten in his two seasonal starts but the Lance Hudson trainee has plenty of back class and gets an improved post. (4) KIMANI N has hit the ticket in two of his last three and could do so again here with smooth sailing.

Race 7: NW6 races or $78,500 lifetime Pace

(4) BEACH BLANKET BOOK added Lasix for his local debut, took a little money from the eight hole but never got involved. He made six figures as a three-year-old and this is clearly a much better spot to see what he has. (1) MISTER REBBILY A flew home to just miss last week and now moves all the way inside; expect aggressive handling. (7) FOREVER FAV went wire-to-wire last start for Garcia-Herrera, who has been live with most everything recently.

Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) HERRICKROOSEVELT N drops a notch in class and does possess a big closing kick. He can be a bit erratic but Stratton seems to get along well with him. (3) FIZZING N faces a bit better here coming off of two solid efforts in NW5000. (4) GLACIS fits with these but the Lachance student seems a bit camera-shy.

[DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!]

Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) ROCK N TONY has totally turned things around after moving to the Cory Stratton barn and while he does face tougher in here he should offer a decent price in this competitive field. (1) PERFECTLY CLOSE gets needed post relief and we saw Holland wire the field with a Temming-trained veteran the other night. (2) IN SPADES has been close in his last three for the hot Garcia-Herrera.

Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) YACHT SEELSTER set a decent pace and battled gamely for the win as the odds-on favorite last start; he's back up in class but has a legit chance to repeat. (5) OUR MAX PHACTOR N also faces better off a win and he should be leaving the gate again. (4) BILL HALEY N drops in class again; when will we start to see something from the Lance Hudson trainee?
