MEET STATS: 47 - 170 / $223.10 (-$116.90)

Spot Play: CONFIDENCE MAN (7th)
Race 1: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(7) SMOKEN BY N got shuffled and was never a serious player upon arrival last week but he faces a much more questionable field this week and figures to be a solid price option in this wide-open event. (2) APEX SEELSTER moves to the Koch barn via claim and gets some needed post relief. (4) PARTY WHIP and (3) HEART ON MY SLEEVE are both hard to gauge; they both have been facing much better with limited success.

Race 2: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(3) UCANTTOUCHTHIS was lost at the back of the back in that start at The Big M but it seemed like a needed start and the Bongiorno trainee figures to be tighter tonight. The very capable Luke Hanners gets the catch drive. (1) THEFLYINGROCK was a pocket-rocket winner across the river in his second start for the Engblom barn; 4YO looks like a perfect fit here, assuming the half mile doesn't give him any problems. (5) FIRST GLANCE pulled up with broken equipment last week in that ugly race where many of the contenders were troubled. Jordan Stratton drives for his brother again and will be a nice price.

Race 3: NW20600 in last 5 starts Pace
Interesting race…(1) REVELRY looked very strong winning first out off the Dowse claim and me may be ready to tackle better. (6) WESTERN JOE regained his stride in those two starts at Pocono and when on top of his game this gelding is one of the best pacers on the continent. (8) LYONS STEEL is also as classy as they come and cannot be counted out, even from the eight hole.
Race 4: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(1) HIGH ST CORRIDOR looked strong both starting and finishing last week for hot connections; right back. (8) MAKIN SOME NOISE clearly has loads of talent and his Ohio connections knew that right away as they shipped him out East to race for more money; eight hole should only present a minor problem as he fires away from the gate. Looks like a crapshoot for 3rd and 4th money…maybe (4) JET ACE sitting close to the front or (7) SAMSON BLUE CHIP coming from well out of it.
Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN makes his second start at the basement level and picks up Bartlett tonight. I have to believe there's still some life left in those legs. (1) MACH IT SO is an old classmaster inching towards 3 million lifetime and he should have more to offer making his second start in almost eight months. (8) SON OF A TIGER N was solid in defeat last week and would probably have been the top choice if not for the post.
Race 6: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) FLYING FINN N has steadily been descending the class ladder since being claimed for $50K and he was a solid second last week to a rival who figured to be tough to defeat. Height trainee seems way overdue. (8) AINTNOBETTOR A hasn't been firing on all cylinders of late but he does get to face softer and could be a serious player at a decent price if Kakaley can get him away in good order. (5) QUALITY BUD powered home to nail the win last start and that's two good efforts since moving to the Forte barn; he can certainly be considered here.
Race 7: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(4) CONFIDENCE MAN seemed very well-meant last start but was overdriven by Siegelman; he's one of a few recent shippers for Devita who have been very live and this one certainly deserves another chance. (3) IMOUTTHEDOOR has been right there in every local start and seems impossible not to include. (1) BORN A REBEL faces better despite still being a maiden but he should be looking at a nice trip from this spot.
Race 8: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(3) BALFAST N was stuck in the eight hole in her last three races and almost comically was positioned eighth at every charted call; obviously those three races can be ignored because all prior races from legit posts have been good. (2) MILLWOOD BONNIE N has been a model of consistency and she remains at a winning level off the Burke claim. (4) MY LAST BET drops in for a tag making her second start for the Dowse connections.
Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) SOMEBEACH BARON was a tad overmatched at the $50K claiming level but the Erv Miller trainee is a solid fit with these. (1) WATERWAY drops again and draws best for a barn that's been showing a little more life. (4) EPIC ACE also faces a bit softer and gets some post relief; seems like a must-use for the bottom of the ticket.

Race 10: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) DON DOMINGO N hasn't done much in ages but he keeps getting thrown out there every week so he may eventually just work his way back into good shape. Last week he did encounter some traffic issues. (4) FIZZING N drops, draws better and should be a legit player. (5) TURBO HILL can't seem to find the proper classification but this is as low as he can go here and he'll be handled accordingly; to the front?
Race 11: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) BILL HALEY N kept up well last start in a good tightening effort and the Lance Hudson trainee may be ready to break out. (1) MACH DORO A had a major confidence-building victory last week against softer and while he's now back up in class and is back with Dube he's proven in the past to be competitive with this type. (5) ROCKATHON doesn't win that often but is usually around at the finish.
