Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 2/22

MEET STATS: 23 - 101 / $124.50 (-$77.50)
BEST BETS: 3 - 9 / $9.60 (-$8.40)
Best Bet: FEELIN RED HOT (7th)
Spot Play: LINNYCALLEDFRANKIE (5th)
Race 1: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) SANTAFE'S COACH drops to the lowest level he's seen in ages and it's hard to imagine the Lachance trainee not winning here, but I'm certainly not running to bet him. (1) MISTER SPOT A followed along behind the top one last week and finished evenly; he should be looking at a similar trip tonight. (3) MCSPIDEY has been weak recently but he does have plenty of back class to tap into.

Race 2: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) SHADOW CAT drops back to the level he's most effective at, gets Bartlett to drive and draws well; Fanning trainee deserves top billing. (4) CASUAL COOL was my pick last week but he gapped the pocket as the pace picked up and proved no match to the top two; he's also dropping out of the same race as the top choice and should have more to offer. (1) GENIUS MAN has speed and draws best of all; it will interesting to see what tactics Brennan chooses here.

Race 3: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) ITSMYCHECK GB went on a nice run when he first arrived from Northfield then proved overmatched at the $50K claiming level but last week's race was much better than the prior couple and now the Cory Stratton trainee gets to plunge in class. (6) ROCK LIGHTS was a game winner coming off a five month break and showing a nondescript qualifier so he could have more to offer facing better. (3) FLYING FINN N hasn't done much since the high-priced claim a few starts back but like the top one he faces softer.
Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) ISLANDSPECIALMAJOR sat a nice trip last week but came up a bit short to a well-meant winner and a very game challenger. He lands in a similar spot tonight and perhaps he can reach this time. (5) DON DOMINGO N hasn't been this low in a long time but he has very dull recent form; classy import would not be a surprise. (4) HUNDIE N drops to a winning level and will be a player but his barn is off to a slow start this season.
Race 5: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(1) LINNYCALLEDFRANKIE hinted at serious ability as a three-year-old then was stuck in post eight for his seasonal debut but finished willingly in :27 4/5; move all the way inside should make this Toscano trainee a big player. (4) SETH HANOVER added Lasix for last week's start and lasted to the wire in a wild finish; he figures to be heading to the front again. (3) GAMBLING ADDICTION was a nose shy in that same race and the Harris barn is doing well recently.
Race 6: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) MACH DORO A really has too much class to ignore and if there is a Garcia-Herrera trainee out there who can turn things around in a hurry, it could be this import. (2) GENTLEMANJIM II IE returns locally where he's has some moderate success in the past and he faces a field littered with question marks; maybe. (7) ALOTBETTOR N fits with these and will offer value from the outside post; does Bartlett take a shot and fire out? If I bet him then we all know what the answer will be...a resounding NO!
Race 7: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(5) FEELIN RED HOT came off the bench and blasted down the road; she'll likely repeat here as the heavy chalk. (2) THUNDRA added Lasix last week and raced well to be second best. (1) TRIZZLE TRAZZLE gets important post relief and should be chasing close-up throughout.
Race 8: NW5301 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) DAAAMERICANSKY is fresh stock from Ohio for the Dowse barn and that looked like an insane qualifier up at Monticello; I'll assume he's ready to go here at first asking. (1) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN drops to the basement and finds his first live spot in ages; hard to ignore this classy 12-year-old. (3) WEONA SIZZLER A also faces softer looking to wake up.
Race 9: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(5) IMOUTTHEDOOR has been solid in every local start since arriving from the Iowa fair circuit and he could offer some value with the invading (4) CANDY TRADER to his inside. The latter looked very sharp in two starts at The Meadowlands for Team Bongiorno and he does have some half-mile experience. (2) HIGH ST CORRIDOR has been live in his last three starts with Lasix added.

Race 10: NW20950 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) ROCKAPELO finally showed some serious life over the Yonkers oval last week and just missed after pacing a big back half; Burke trainee is overdue for a local win. (1) PATRIOT NATION was stacked up with poor cover last week at the $75K claiming level and he was taken from that race by the Cullipher barn; Bartlett keeps the drive from the innermost post. (6) WHITE HAIR ROCKS is up in class to face much tougher but this gelding has shown massive improvement since the switch to the Ruiz barn.
Race 11: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) VENIER HANOVER brushed and crushed on the barn change to Bako and despite the rise in class he doesn't seem to face much tougher. (3) EHRMANTRAUT seems to have qualified effectively in preparation for his seasonal debut; he's had moderate success here in the past. (5) LOUIE LOUIE arrives off a win at The Big M for Burke and could be a nice fit here.
