(3) CONTROL TOWER has made his way to the bottom of the claiming ranks and with the much-improved post at appears the DiDomenico trainee will have no excuses tonight. Others underneath: (4) HIGHVIEW CONALL N and (1) CAROLINA MAGIC.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) NAVARONE HANOVER just missed from a similar spot two back, then was off over a month before last week's effort where she was never a player. Zeron drives tonight (with Stratton going to his brother's horse) from a cozy inside spot. Underneath: (2) MUFASA AS and (5) MADHATTER BLUECHIP.

Race 3: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) WAR DAN DELIGHT N paced steadily last out while facing better, his first start in almost four weeks. Harmon trainee drops to the bottom conditioned level, draws inside, and while he doesn't offer much value he does seem the most likely winner. Underneath: (5) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A and (2) LORD WILLOUGHBY A.

Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) GAMBLINGTERROR undoubtedly needed that last start down at Freehold and he kept up okay in what was a pretty quick mile; gelding meets a field here with question marks and the Stafford barn has done good things so far this meet. Underneath: (4) ART HISTORY and (3) TREVOR ONE.

Race 5: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

In a very competitive conditioned event (6) ILLBEWATCHINGU landed in a perfect spot last out, took all the money and pounced on the leader late to score. Lance Hudson trainee faces better tonight but he could be sharp enough to get it done. Don't accept too short of a price (3/1 or higher). Underneath: (4) ROCKIN MEDICINE and (2) ROGERTHAT BLUECHIP.

Race 6: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(2) ROLLING WITH SAM goes out first-time Burke after the sale purchase and he lands in a seemingly live spot to improve on that 2-for-30 lifetime mark. Underneath: (3) CAPTIVATE HANOVER, (7) ODDS ON BREXIT and (6) DIAMONDBEACH.

Race 7: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) DENVER SEELSTER faltered late on the front end last out and was collared, letting me down as my top choice. Gelding does step up a notch but certainly faces no standouts and I'm willing to give him another chance. Underneath: (8) TAP TAP TAP and (1) WINDSONG JACK.

Race 8: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace

(3) GENIUS MAN was well-rated on the front end in his 2021 debut but was clearly short in the late stages. Like many others, he was off significant time over the holidays so he may not have been at his tightest. Prior efforts for this barn were solid. Underneath: (2) MCMIKE and (4) SCRAPPIN GOLD.

Race 9: NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime Pace

(8) TRU LOU was an easy winner upon arrival for Burke and he deserves following despite landing the worst post. If not used too hard securing early position he seems talented enough to repeat. Underneath: (5) CENTURY FURY and (1) DINA BOLT N.

Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) HERRICKROOSEVELT N disappointed me big-time last week (and made a dent in my wallet) when he broke from third over but then flashed some late pace. He gets Stratton back in the bike tonight who seems to get along with him well and I have to give him another chance. Underneath: (7) MOHAWK WARRIOR and (2) ALTA LEROY N.
