Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 2/16

MEET STATS: 33 - 109 / $153.00 (-$65.00)
BEST BETS: 6 - 11 / $20.70 (-$1.30)
Best Bet: MACHIATTO A (8th)
Spot Play: CINNABAR DRAGON (4th)
Race 1: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A went a tough trip last week when hung to dry; previous start from an inside post he just missed. Lachance trainee should be sitting a nice stalking trip and he can get there in time. (3) TOM ME GUN N makes his second start at this reduced level and he'll be right there with some trip luck. (5) GRIFFON HANOVER has been facing better in all recent and I suspect Dube will be aggressively handling him.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot
(1) MONEY MAVEN raced well last start to be second best from the eight hole and at the NW5000 level this classy veteran is supposed to beat these. (4) SHOWMEYOURGUNS finished well last week in a needed start and he's clearly the main threat to the top one. (5) SHAKE A LEG can go with these but the sick scratch and the missed time is a bit of a concern.
Race 3: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(3) PUMA took money from the eight hole in his local debut but was a complete non-factor until passing a few ones late; from the better starting spot he should be put in play. (5) REIGNING BILLS also rallied last week for a minor award and Bartlett sticks with him for the Harris barn. (8) FURIOUS BEACH invades from Northfield where he's been razor-sharp in their NW1 class; problem here is the post. Interesting affair here as well with a couple of first-time starters.
Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) CINNABAR DRAGON trailed throughout from the eight hole facing better in his first start off the Ken Koch claim. Class and post relief will help his cause tonight. (3) GAMBLINGTERROR was a good second in his local return and he can be considered here. (8) EGOMANIA returned fresh from a break and finished stoutly last week at a big price. He can be a closing threat again.
Race 5: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(2) IM A GIGOLO N has looked pretty good for Burke in four starts at The Meadowlands after arriving from Down-Under and he should be a good fit here at this NW4 level. (1) ODDS ON BREXIT faltered on the front end last week but now he moves to the innermost post and is clearly a prime contender. (7) WALK IT TALK IT qualified very nicely for Lachance in preparation for his local (and seasonal debut) but it's hard to predict how involved he will be from this tough outside post.
Race 6: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(5) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE has taken two straight in game style since shipping in for Burke and the 4-year-old Sweet Lou offspring will be favored to win another. (3) DIAMONDBEACH has some ugly-looking lines but note that good recent qualifier with an unknown in the bike; Bucci trainee appears to have some talent. (4) FOREVER FAV finished willingly last week, home in :27 4/5 to be third best to the top choice.
Race 7: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) YACHT SEELSTER rallied nicely in his last two facing a bit better and this sure feels like the winning spot tonight. (4) DENVER SEELSTER failed at the NW5000 level two back but he did close willingly last start from the eight hole; improved post gives Stratton some options. (7) SILAS SEELSTER hasn't been firing his best recently but he's more than capable with this type; can he complete the all "Seelster" trifecta?
Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) MACHIATTO A has come up a bit short in the late stages from pocket trips in his last three tries but from this spot Bartlett figures to be controlling the action and it would be no surprise to see him go the distance. (1) BALLARAT BOOMERANG has picked up checks in all of his recent races and Bongiorno gets along pretty well with him; class dip and good post should make him a player. (5) DOCTOR BUTCH returns to Yonkers facing a bit softer but this guy can be very frustrating at times; he can win this but also he could gap with little response.
Race 9: NW6/NW8 races handicap Pace
(6) MAJOR BETTS failed to get involved but finished willingly in his seasonal debut, obviously a needed start; Mark Harder trainee figures to have more to offer tonight. (4) TRU LOU gave way badly last week after rating the pace, a disappointment considering how he had won his prior start fairly easily; which version will show up tonight? (1) GENIUS MAN returns off a front-end win at The Big M and he lands the innermost post in this handicap race; Bartlett's logical choice here over #7.
Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) GLACIS has been chasing much better recently with just moderate success; Lachance trainee drops in class for the fourth consecutive start and should be driven with intent. (5) CAVIART SKYLER is trending the opposite way of the top choice, moving up again looking for three straight; sharp sort can contend here. (4) ORILLIA JOE still has good early speed but is just not reliable enough anymore to endorse on top.
