Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 2/14

2023 MEET STATS: 39 - 103 / $172.60 (-$33.40)
BEST BETS: 8 - 10 / $23.70 (+$3.70)
Best Bet: WICHITA LINEMAN (9th)
Spot Play: ESCAPETOTHEBEACH (4th)
Race 1: 3-6YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(2) MASTER MIKI has been making a decent living recently in Jersey facing mostly veteran claimers but he seems to fit this conditioned class pretty well and could make some serious noise from this good post. (5) WHAT ABOUT BOB was one of a few in here who were caught up in a fast mile last week and were unable to threaten. He jogged in his prior start facing lesser, his first for the Engblom barn. (3) SPORTS SECTION could have more to offer in his second start off the bench for the Bako barn.

Race 2: $15,000 Claiming Pace
(4) JK LUCKY CHARMS raced okay from outside posts in his last two but now finds a better spot for Kakaley to get aggressive. (3) MAAJAACKKOBE qualified nicely now in the Forte barn and the veteran is eligible to show vast improvement. (7) ATTA BOY DAN can still bring it at age 14 and he goes for his fourth straight.

Race 3: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) FOUR STAR FLASH has been right there in three of his last four at Monti and he draws the rail in this lackluster field. Watson barn has been pretty good this year. (3) DEALER'S TABLE hasn't picked up a check since moving east for the Cullipher barn but maybe another change in scenery helps and it's hard to ignore these connections. (8) WESTERN JOE is obviously the best in here and who ever thought we would see him at the NW5000 level! Another bad post may limit his options again.
Race 4: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(7) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH drops to face the softest field he may have ever seen at Yonkers; he lands another outside post but I have a feeling Holland will get him in play this week. (1) STRAIGHT UP COOL was an upset winner two back at this level with Bartlett driving. (3) SAULSBROOK HERO has more than enough ability to compete with these but he's coming off an injured scratch and almost a month on the sidelines.
Race 5: 3-6YO NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(3) TWIN B HEART THROB went two big efforts in a row recently to come up a bit short to the rejuvenated Jahan Hanover. Cullipher trainee shifts to the age-conditioned NW ranks, draws better and returns to Bartlett. (2) HEART OF DIXIE had been knocking on the door before last week's impressive last-to-first upset; we'll see how he does facing a bit better. (6) A ROCKNROLL STAR hasn't put in a bad effort in ages and he likes to win.
Race 6: $15,000 Claiming Pace
(3) MUSCLE MACH A chased the winner willingly in his first try for the Bako barn and the veteran could have more to offer tonight. (1) SPORTS BETTOR gets major post relief and was a strong winner a few starts back from a similar spot. (2) CAROLINA MAGIC figures to be saving ground close to the front and he could shake free at some point and finish well.
Race 7: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) GENIUS MAN has been holding his own with better in all recent and we could be seeing speed tactics again from this Bucci trainee despite the less than desirable post. (1) JUDDY DOUGLAS A is also a major speed presence from the rail. (3) CARLISIMO always takes money but hasn't delivered a win at Yonkers since last September. Veteran figures to be more involved with the improved post.
Race 8: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(1) CAVIART CHERIE was second best to the odds-on winner last week and that's three straight top-three finishes for this classy mare. From the inside draw she figures to be looking at a live trip. (3) SEZANA N raced well in her return to this claiming class and over she's been representing herself well; big chance to get it done. (6) NUTTINBUTTHEBEST leaves the gate every start and tonight may be no exception. If Kakaley does fire out at the start and she can clear without too much trouble she may prove difficult to catch.

Race 9: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) WICHITA LINEMAN was the textbook definition of a 'drop and pop' last week. Modest step up in class shouldn't derail him. (5) HICKFROMFRENCHLICK was overtaken by the top one but to his credit he held to be second best. That start he was quick to the front from the outermost post so he figures to have another clear path out of the gate. (1) ROCKATHON is another veteran with good tactical speed and he draws inside again.
Race 10: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) GARDYS LEGACY A very likely needed last week's start coming off the bench and the Dilloian trainee finished with mild foot for a small share. Stratton picks up the drive with Bartlett opting to #1 and that should help the price. (1) FLYING ART A was second best in his Yonkers debut behind a runaway and the recent import should build off that effort. (2) BELTANE A has shown solid improvement and look at those posts he's had recently! Veteran has plenty of back class.
