2023 MEET STATS: 490 - 1387 / $2,569.70 (-$204.30) BEST BETS: 71 - 131 / $233.20 (-$28.80) BEST BET: TERACITA (3rd) SPOT PLAY: C BET HANOVER (10th) Race 1: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) ADAM TWELVE is going to be very chalky but considering he blew away similar in his last two and has won four straight overall it's hard to make a case for anyone else in here. (4) KINGSVILLE gets a bit of post relief but sometimes moving in one or two slots makes a big difference. (6) ALLUNEEDISFAITH N was an okay third last week in his first try in a couple of months and the Bako trainee drops down a notch. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 3-5YO NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace (5) BLAZING BANNER N raced very willingly in his first U.S. start over at The Meadowlands but he did fail to convert at 40 cents on the dollar. Fresh import from the Drennan barn gives Yonkers a try, and he did qualify impressively at Freehold so the half shouldn't be a problem. (4) BLUE HUNT was a tad overmatched out of the eight hole facing more seasoned foes last out but he's been right there at this level his last three. (1) BUGABOO LOU ships in for Burke after failing to make an impact in the Progress Pace down at Dover. Obvious contender. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace I have a feeling that (2) TERACITA will be put on the front end tonight and it should be smooth sailing from there. (3) BELLATRICKS returned here last week after a two year-plus spell on the bench and clearly needed the race. Should show more with the post relief. (5) BRONZE OVER N also has plenty of class and local experience, now gets Jordan Stratton driving for his brother and will be a price. Race 4: NW22161 in last 5 starts Pace (1) FORTIFY is always a major player when dropped to this level and combined with the rail draw gives him an opportunity to shine. (2) ROCK DIAMONDS N is a solid earner for the Bongoirno barn and must be considered. (5) PHOENIX OF FLUZZY showed solid speed two and three back when he cruised on the front end but this is a step up and I'm unsure of the trip tonight. Race 5: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace Race looks like it will be dominated by the inside horses. (3) SUGAR BRITCHES has very quickly found a home at this level as the 3YO filly has two recent wins and a second; Engblom trainee faces speed inside of her and may be able to grind her way home. (1) BETTERB CHEVRON has been a solid earner for the Hudson barn for years; big chance for the import. (2) LINE EM UP is in the midst of a winning dry-spell but she's close up in every start. Race 6: 3-5YO NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace (6) CAPTAIN MAX HENRY faltered at odds-on last week at The Meadowlands in his first for the Burke barn and now he ships in simply looking faster than these. (3) LYONS TREACHEROUS was a winner first out on the barn change to Engblom and looks to complete a chalky exacta. Not much else to endorse in here, maybe (7) TOMMY THREE STICKS, who stayed flat coming off the qualifier and closed smartly. Race 7: 3-5YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace (2) CHIEF CORLEONE hasn't made an impact since graduating from NW2 but they were from outside posts, both here and at Philly. Move inside and camera-shy competition could work out for this 4YO. (5) CENTURY INSPECTOR always puts in a live effort but has just one win to show for it over 18 seasonal starts. Also has missed a couple of weeks. (4) EL YERNO makes his return from five months on the bench for the Bongiorno barn and cruised in that recent Freehold qualifier. Race 8: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (2) SALE EL SOL could not sustain her second move last week trying to get it done from the seven hole; 4YO mare should have no such trouble tonight from the inside post. (3) PURAMERI has made a nice living at this level despite rarely winning; Bartlett picks up the drive looking to hit the board for the sixth consecutive start. (1) COMMANDER CATHY N moves into claimers and by virtue of the draw can complete a chalky inside triple. Race 9: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (6) PARADISE ROCK L is not that far removed from her just-miss effort at the $50K claiming level and now she returns at a more enticing lower level. Also, Bartlett is back driving which can help the cause. (3) BLUEBIRD GRAF has fit right in since arriving from Ohio; goes for two straight and is certainly logical. (2) SWEET SANDY LOU had been giving honest efforts week in and week out; contender. Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace Brennan drove (2) C BET HANOVER three starts back and they blitzed a weaker field in a career mark of 1:52 3/5. (1) ROCKMELIKEYAMEANIT has raced reasonably well in four starts since moving to the Bongiorno barn and this is the softest spot he's seen since arriving from the Midwest. 3YO looms large. (3) MIND HUNTER did the best he could last week to land a share from the right hole; steps up but gets post relief. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) DEETZY is wrapping up a solid season which saw the 11YO veteran earn close to $170K with 11 wins...impressive. Tonight he gets class relief and was a winner two back from a similar spot. (8) BRUE HANOVER arrives for Burke and the 3YO makes his half-mile debut. Not worried about his ability but obviously the eight hole is a concern. (4) WICHITA LINEMAN gets Bartlett back in the bike and moves in a few slots. He's also had a big season. Race 12: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace As usual with (2) FEELIN RED HOT it's a coin toss...heads she lasts to the wire, tails she gives it up late. I guess if she's even-money it's fair value. (6) ALWAYS B MIMI hasn't done much recently but had been facing better in all recent local starts. (1) PRAY THE ROSARY finally draws an inside post and she can land a share with a smooth trip.
