Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace

(2) GUNPOWDER N gets the post edge on his rival (6) SEELEY MAN tonight and I expect that to make the difference. The latter has taken two straight on the front end, but will he be released to the top here? This should make for some interesting early action (well, as interesting as it gets…). (3) GRAND MASTER is still chugging along at 13 years old and he rallied willingly last out at Monticello. He can sneak into the number at a price.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) SHAKE A LEG just could not reach from the eight hole last week but obviously the post relief should make a world of difference tonight; hard not to seriously consider him on top. (3) MADHATTER BLUECHIP clearly needed last week's start, his first in over a year. Veteran should be tighter tonight. (4) BLUE AND BOLD is a legit talent when he behaves himself; hard to get excited about him at a short price.

Race 3: NW2 races or $30,877 lifetime Pace

(1) CIGAR SMOKING TONY cruised around the oval unpressured last week in that five-horse affair and paid $2.30 to his many backers. Godinez trainee will have to work a bit harder tonight to make it four straight but he should be up to the challenge. (2) ILLBEWATCHINGU drops back to the NW2 class, gets major post relief and is clearly the main threat to the top one. (4) ISSA HORSE is 0 for 37 lifetime and counting but he likes to hit the board; use underneath.

Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) WARDAN EXPRESS A didn't fire at all in his 2021 debut but he was off a month leading into that race and the winner did go in 1:53 1/5 so he had some excuses. Temming trainee should show more tonight. (3) CLASSIC PRO never got close last week over at The Meadowlands but he had some competitive tries at this level towards the end of last season; Holland's choice. (8) EPIC ACE drops from the NW8 lifetime condition where he appeared a bit overmatched; eight hole makes things difficult but consider him if he appears live on the board.

Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) ON THE VIRG was second best to a classy rival last out facing NW7500's and he gets to drop to the lowest level tonight; so far this season the Stafford trainees have looked pretty good. (1) SPORTS BETTOR came out of the same race as the top choice and he tired badly after moving to the rim. Veteran should a bit tighter off that effort. (2) FEELING CAM LUCKY returns locally for Garcia-Herrera after a blowout win to close out his 2020 campaign.

Race 6: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(1) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE invades for Burke off a series of solid efforts at Philly and most recently at The Meadowlands. He's clearly the one to deny but won't offer much of a price. (5) ROCKIN MEDICINE has also been razor-sharp for the Erv Miller barn and he'll look to complete a chalky exacta. (3) SUMTHINBOUTIM paced just evenly in his last two and a similar effort can land him a share.

Race 7: NW6/NW8 races or $75,000/$100,000 lifetime Pace

(7) CENTURY FURY was as sharp as could be in his initial appearance for Team Bongiorno. He faces a bit tougher here from an outside post but that will boost his price. (4) TRU LOU arrives for Burke and he shows a recent win at The Big M in 1:50 2/5; main danger. (5) TITO ROCKS raced well here at the NW8 level last Fall.

Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) BENHOPE RULZ N was a sharp winner versus a bit lesser in his last local try and does have the benefit of a recent race across the river; Bartlett will have this one forwardly placed off the gate. (8) JACK’S SHADOW N is accustomed to facing better than these but he’s stuck all the way outside; big chance if Brennan can get him away in good order. (2) TOM ME GUN N gets some needed post relief and a new pilot in Zeron with Siegelman opting elsewhere.

Race 9: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace

(3) MCMIKE was a bit passively handled last week by Gingras and it resulted in him having to grind into a well-rated pace; I have to give the Burke trainee another chance. (2) GENIUS MAN has raced very well since moving to the Bucci barn; big threat assuming he's ready to go off the missed time. (5) LEVINE has also missed some time over the holiday break but the Scott Zeron-owned 4-year-old has hit the board in his last four tries (including a win).

Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N bumps back up the class ladder looking for three straight and the import seems sharp enough to get it done. (5) THE FIRST STEP took a little money from his outside post upon arrival for Burke but couldn't get involved as the race was dominated by three classy inside rivals; expect him to be a major player tonight. (3) ROCK LIGHTS finished close up off a perfect trip last week and he does have a post edge on his main rivals.
