Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 1/17

FINAL 2022 MEET STATS: 465 - 1334 / $2,322.30 (-$345.70)
BEST BETS: 75 - 128 / $271.60 (+$15.60)
Best Bet: COVERED BRIDGE (9th)
Spot Play: KIMANI N (1st)
Race 1: $15,000 Claiming Pace
(3) KIMANI N was a good winner first out off the Cory Stratton claim and he was favored last start at The Meadowlands but didn't fire; veteran seems logical landing a decent post in his local return. (5) SETONCRUISECONTROL also should benefit from having a 2023 start and maybe he can awaken returning to the smaller track. (1) UNDERTAKER drops in class after racing in $20K claimers for an extended period of time.

Race 2: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(4) LINE EM UP raced pretty well in all of her recent local starts and she was a winner 11 days ago in a conditioned event at The Big M; Bongiorno trainee also gets post relief to strengthen her case. (5) CALLMEQUEENBEE A is also proven at this level and she hails from the live connections of Bartlett and Cullipher. (1) NUTTINBUTTHEBEST was hung to dry in her 2022 finale but is certainly looking at a better trip tonight.

Race 3: 3-6YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(3) AMERICAN FRONTIER jogged in his local debut and he keeps Bartlett on the class rise. (5) IMA HAPPY FELLA GB has looked sharp in three starts after arriving from Down-under and he should fit well with these. (1) HP LIS SHADOW obviously has some issues as he's broken in two of his last three but that was a good rally for second two back sandwiched between those miscues; Kakaley picks up the drive.
Race 4: 2-6YO NW2 races or $27,491 lifetime Pace
(2) COMET CRUSADER N faces softer in his third U.S. start for the Deters barn, which does well here with limited stock. (5) AMBITIOUSBEACHBOY arrives from Ohio for Lorentzon and picks up Bartlett for his local debut after being reasonably competitive at Dayton. (4) COALFORD BET ALIVE is another Great Britain invader for the Harmon barn; will he need a start or two?
Race 5: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) SAULSBROOK HERO drops another notch in class and while he likely needs some help from this spot he can charge home with the right setup. (2) TIGER BARON won at Monticello last month in 1:54 4/5 and he's got plenty of local experience. (5) TWIN B HEART THROB is another Cullipher trainee who lured Bartlett and should go well here.
Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) REBELLIOUS just missed on Dec. 31 at Philly and that ended a solid season for this veteran with close to $100K banked. He finds a good spot to kick things off this year. (1) SOHO CHELSEA A had a big wakeup call in his 2022 finale and the Bako trainee drops again while drawing best. (7) SAYING GRACE N is another Cullipher trainee with Bartlett driving; consider despite the poor post.
Race 7: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(3) SHECANDANCE N overcame an early break to just miss last out at The Meadowlands and prior to that she hit the board in three straight at Yonkers. Bartlett's back driving and the Engblom trainee looks like the one to beat. (4) BALFAST N has been finishing well lately and usually offers good value. (1) PAIGE'S GIRL is logical here, assuming she's ready to go having not raced in almost a month (like many others obviously).
Race 8: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) DIAMONDBEACH did make a 2023 start across the river and though he broke and trailed he could have benefitted from that recent start; Bucci trainee does have speed and he was a big earner here last season. (1) SMOKIN BY N ended up at The Meadows for his last start and won out of the pocket at odds-on; that race could serve as a confidence booster. (5) SON OF A TIGER N returns off a win at Monti and was facing better when last here.

Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) COVERED BRIDGE was a legit Open player when we last saw him and he should be tighter off that recent effort at The Meadowlands; Gillis trainee seems like a deserving favorite from this spot. (3) SOMETHING BETTOR A has hinted at serious ability since arriving in the U.S. for Ron Cushing; the five weeks off is a bit of a concern however. (2) CARLISIMO should fit with these but has a poor local win record over the last couple of seasons.
Race 10: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) MONTY MONO is the only one in here with the benefit of a 2023 start and though he wasn't involved in that Meadowlands race it was a quick mile; he was facing a bit better when last here. (3) MOONLIGHT SHADOW just missed at this level in his last start. (1) REAGAN BLUE CHIP returns to Yonkers now at the basement level and he was knocking heads with NW20K types not too long ago.
