2025 MEET STATS: 328 - 1079 / $1,801.48 (-$356.52) BEST BETS: 55 - 105 / $177.42 (-$32.58) BEST BET: ODDS ON WILDFIRE (8th) SPOT PLAY: FEDERER (7th) Race 1: F&M $30,000 Claiming Pace (5) ATREACHEROUS A has taken two straight from off the pace for Lachance and now she logically steps up a notch in claiming price. With a similar pace setup she's sharp enough to sweep by again. (4) TOBAGO TIME was an even third first start off the Dilloian Jr. reclaim; steady sort should be there again. (2) YS SENSATIONALCITY has been just ok for these connections but she gets a new driver in Brennan and draws well. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (6) LYRICAL GENIUS A had been stale locally for the Stratton barn but shipped up to Saratoga last week and won easily. Sometimes these 'drop and pop' types get brave and turn things around in a hurry; looking for that here at a price with a good setup. (4) THE IDEAL DANCER A fits the lowest conditioned class and to be honest he looks much the best here for Lachance but figures to be a short price. (1) PINE BUSH ITALIANO was an injured scratch last out but to his credit he's right back in the box; Bartlett and the rail are two big selling points. Race 3: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (3) IDEALINFUN had a decent showing in her debut at this claiming level; gets a new driver in Brennan, draws a reasonable post, should be a reasonable price. (1) AMBUSHED also entered claimers last week and was a nice winner, nipping the top one. Logical from the rail. (5) JIVE DANCING A lost her last start but that was to an equally classy rival. She's up in class here with a post disadvantage but Kelly stays with her and she'll be a longshot maybe worth including. Race 4: 2-5YO NW2 races or $30,000 LT Pace (2) QUOTE ME NOT N hails from the leading trainer and now is paired up with the leading driver. Maybe that's enough to get it done. I'll use if she's going to be close to her 9/2 ML price. (3) CARRONSIDELEGCY GB has raced well since arriving in the U.S. but hasn't proven he's good enough to win yet, and now he loses his regular driver. Still, this is post improvement and he looks like a player. (5) GLOWING LOU is off a couple of months but the Stratton trainee looks ready off that recent qualifier. Race 5: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) PINNY TIGER A is the latest Down-Under invader in what seems like an endless stream of them. This one debuts here for owner/trainer Per Engblom off a cruising qualifier, where I suspect he could have gone faster. Bartlett gets the call first time out. (1) VANDIEMEN BLUECHIP is a talented speedster who has had mixed results recently up at Mohawk. Capone trainee was third here in the NYSS finals both as a two and a three-year-old. (5) SET SHOT also comes from Canada into the Lachance barn. Probably needs a start or two before being considered on top but I can see him relaxing off the pace and finishing well. Race 6: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace Good field where they are all competitive, but (5) DISTANT LOVER probably stands out a bit here. She's been a winner at this level for multiple trainers and after a shot against better she's back to the right spot, and is back with the leading driver. She’ll look to take these wire to wire. (7) DISARONNO HILL is another sharp 'rent a horse' who draws tough but will probably be ignored in the wagering, and she's got faster figures than the rest of late. With luck she can pick up the pieces at a big price. (2) ON THE MONEY GB is a nose shy of a two-race win streak; draws well. Race 7: 2-5YO Winners of 2-4 races or $60,000 LT Pace (4) FEDERER gave way under pressure last week but he was coming off a sick scratch and almost a month off so he may have been short. He's right back in on consecutive weeks now and hopefully resembles the pacer we saw two back when he wired the field in 1:52 4/5. (1) JOEL AND THE JETS makes his half-mile debut in another new barn and has earned $90K as a 3YO despite just going 1 for 14. Sometimes it can be tricky leaving from the rail on the half for a fresh face. (3) MATAI PHIL N finished well last out and lands an improved post; could be a price underneath. Race 8: NW21261 in last 5 starts Pace (2) ODDS ON WILDFIRE is a 3YO tackling older but he's done well in most of those engagements and he's got the speed to take these a long way. (3) JUMPINGJACKMAC N gets a driver change to Bartlett, which means overbet but also the likelihood of winning is greater. (5) NONE BETTOR A is up in class again looking for three straight. Ageless wonder just keeps chugging along. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW15001 in last 5 starts Pace (3) ALWAYS B ELITE N is perfect in two North American tries for the Alexander barn. He faces better and more seasoned foes but I'll stick with him. (2) HEMSWORTH N is a legit Open/Invite horse when right so with a little improvement over his last couple he'll be a major threat. (5) SWEETHOMEALABAMA N drops in class for the third consecutive start and is eligible to rally for a piece. Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (2) BITCOIN HANOVER has raced well the last few times he drew reasonably, and he's got the two hole tonight. Yes he's a 3YO facing elders but it is late in the season rather than early. Repeat of last week's effort could be good enough to win from this spot. (1) THONG CONTROL drops in class and moves all the way inside for Lachance. (4) HUNTINGFORCHROME has been a disaster this year after those big freshman and sophomore seasons. Alexander trainee is facing significantly softer here and no better time than the present to turn things around.
