2025 MEET STATS: 369 - 1203 / $2,011.98 (-$394.02) BEST BETS: 61 - 117 / $199.74 (-$34.26) BEST BET: STERLING CHOICE (3rd) SPOT PLAY: ON ACCIDENT (11th) Race 1: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (1) DW'S DARLENE seems to be racing as well as she draws lately making her rail spot perfect for a winning trip. (5) HUNTS FLOWER arrives from Plainridge and joins the Blackler barn, and anytime Bartlett drives for this outfit they must be seriously considered. (2) EMDOUBLEAKAY has become somewhat of a board-hitting machine; figures to hit the ticket again from this cozy spot. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) KINGSVILLE has come up a bit light in the win department over the last couple of years but he drops and is probably faster than most of these. (1) MANFERNO also gets class relief and isn't that far removed from a win versus optional $60K claimers. Move inside makes him one to beat. (4) LYRICAL GENIUS A woke up last start in a nice rebound effort and will look to build on that; trainer Cory drives but he did win with him recently at Saratoga. Race 3: 2-5YO winners of 5-7 races or $90K LT Pace (3) STERLING CHOICE has taken two straight in game fashion and pretty much faces much of the same here from a reasonable post in this abbreviated field; looks for three straight and the race goes through him. (2) ALRITEALRITEALRITE raced willingly in his debut for the Alexander barn after arriving from the Ontario "B" circuit; could have more to offer. (5) MATAI PHIL N also goes for three straight wins but for those who are fans of final times his win was two seconds slower last Tuesday than the top choice. Race 4: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (1) BE MY ROSE N was saddled with posts seven and eight in her two starts for Burke after shipping in, so tonight will be a better indication of her talent; worth a try. (4) ACCESS GRANTED is obviously a live one for the top trainer/driver. (2) MISS PERIGNON N has won two straight at this level and stays put while drawing well again; she's an obvious contender. Race 5: 2-5YO NW2 races or $40,961 LT Pace (1) QUOTE ME NOT N faced better last week and had the eight hole to boot so he can be forgiven for not being involved. Tonight the Engblom trainee drops back to the straight NW2 level where he had won two straight. (5) HE IS STINGIN ships in for Andy and Julie Miller and has raced pretty well despite still being a maiden; could be a good fit. (2) CRUISING ZONE raced well as a 3YO on the Ohio circuit and was odds-on in the Buckeye Stallion final but made a break, then shipped out East and made a break at Philly in a qualifier. Rebounded in his second Q and has Gingras for good connections but I want to see one first. Race 6: Winners of 2-4 races or $60K LT Pace (5) LOCHLAN HANOVER returned recently from some time on the sidelines and raced very well in defeat in his last two; Alexander trainee is just 2 for 23 lifetime but could be ready to score and should offer a little value. (3) FEDERER has been overdue for a win and now gets post improvement and a switch to Bartlett with his regular driver Brennan not listed on the card tonight. (1) SET SHOT makes his third start for Lachance after arriving from Canada and could be ready to show some more. Race 7: F&M $30,000 Claiming Pace Not sure if (1) YS SENSATIONALCITY will ever win again but she lands the best post for the second straight start and I kind of like Dube picking up the drive. (6) KATIES UP dropped in class to this level last week and rewarded her connections with a win; looks to repeat for top trainer/driver but may need to generate some more early speed. (2) STORMY SERENA has been solid at one level lower and gives the $30's a try for the Laterza barn. Race 8: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) FIFTH AND FIVE is fresh stock arriving from Mohawk to join the Cullipher barn and though he's a 3YO facing more seasoned foes I just have a feeling (ok I'm hoping) he'll acclimate quickly and fit in well here. (3) VANDIEMEN BLUECHIP won upon arrival, then came up just shy when third at this level; Capone trainee figures to be moving early. (8) PINNY TIGER A has to deal with a bad post for the first time in his fourth North American start and he is up in class again; we'll see. Race 9: NW20541 in last 5 starts Pace (4) CURLY JAMES A raced well enough to win his last two but did manage to come up shy as the favorite. Import will take plenty of money again but I'll tab him to deliver tonight. (1) JUMPINGJACKMAC N was a solid second two back then a sick scratch didn't derail him any as he finished very willingly last week; clearly the main threat to the top one. (6) TYPHOON BANNER N drops off a good try in his local return but he loses Bartlett and now may be more conservatively driven as he's outside his main rivals. Maybe he can pick up the pieces. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M $25,000 Claiming Pace (2) IDEAL SKIES drops in for a tag after racing well lately and draws best of what looks like the main contenders; she's had a solid season overall and maybe she trips out at a price. (7) DISTANT LOVER is up in class off the Bako reclaim and there's no doubting she's the one to beat, even from this poor post. (5) KAT has been sharp over the last five starts, including last week when bumped back up to this level and prevailed. Note that Cory and not Jordan is listed to drive. Race 11: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace Very camera-shy field here...(6) ON ACCIDENT is 1 for 27 this year and 3 for 41 last year but he never really races badly and his last quarters are more than competitive. Veteran drops and is a juicy 20/1 on the ML. (1) HUNGER STRIKE was odds-on last week and set a quick clip before folding. Kakaley is back driving and probably doesn't need to go as fast. (4) ROLLING WITH SAM is another who has been competitive and is often a price, but now doesn't figure to offer a ton of value; using underneath. Race 12: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace Second half of the late double where none of these has won a race in months. (3) GALANTE A draws a better post and the veteran gets an interesting switch to Gingras. That's all I got...maybe it's enough! (2) HE'S SPECIAL is back inside and may be the controlling speed. (8) CENTURY HEINEKEN picks up Bartlett in his local return and I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to be sitting last, so obviously the start is important. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on X! @drfharnessmatt]
