Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 1/12

Best Bet: CENTURY FURY (9th)
Spot Play: TREVOR ONE (4th)
Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace
(7) GUNPOWDER N and (3) SEELEY MAN have had a fun little rivalry the last few starts, and the Tritton trainee held firm after a parked-out trip in the one race contested that evening before the races were cancelled. Veteran is stuck outside again but that will help his price if he can turn the tables. (3) SEELEY MAN has always had the talent but he clearly has some issues with only 79 lifetime starts as a now 8-year-old. He has been feeling good of late. (1) AMRCANBOOTSCOOTA A moves to another new barn and he should be sitting a close-up trip throughout.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot
(8) SHAKE A LEG gets much-needed class relief and though he hasn't done much of late and is stuck outside he should be a reasonable enough price to give him serious consideration; Zeron's choice. (1) DIRTY SECRET is back at the level where she's most effective. (7) MAGICAL JOURNEY enters a new barn while also dropping in class and that was a solid effort two back against much better.

Race 3: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace
(1) CIGAR SMOKING TONY took two straight in solid fashion up at Monticello and he gets a big driver upgrade to Bartlett while drawing best; Godinez trainee seems the one to beat. (6) DOUBLEAGENTMAN was a solid second at The Meadowlands two back for Burke; assuming he's ready to go off the break he'll be a big player. (3) PLAY THERAPY paced evenly last out but was a good second the start prior.
Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) TREVOR ONE was aggressively put on the front end last out versus better and that didn't work out too well; prior efforts were even if not spectacular but he seems like he can be a good fit with this type. (5) MACH TIME N finds a bit better spot tonight and Brennan may get aggressive early with this veteran. (4) ART HISTORY doesn't win often but should be competitive here.
Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) HEAVEN'S GAIT was an injured scratch in his last start but he's had a few weeks to get well and if the Devita trainee is ready to go he can roll over these. (2) LUCIANO N drops back to NW5000 where he just missed three back and he's the one to catch. (3) WARDAN EXPRESS A woke up in a big way last out with Bartlett taking over the driving.
Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) MCERLEAN makes his 2021 debut as a now 12-year-old and this classy guy has been facing much better of late. (1) IMSPORTY went a horrid trip last out but his prior efforts were good; Bartlett drives. (3) BARGAIN SHOPPER has also been okay of late and Stratton sticks with him.
Race 7: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) KNOCKING AROUND took money three back when last at this level and swept the field with a furious late rally. There seems to be some suspect speed signed up in here and perhaps history can repeat itself. (4) ON THE VIRG has been uninvolved in his last two but that was against better and he's due for a wakeup call. (2) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N is up in class off a wire-to-wire score and he draws well again.

Race 8: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(6) ODDS ON BREXIT was much-improved in his second local start after arriving from Hoosier. Further progression can land him in the winner's circle. (2) SCRAPPIN GOLD took the field gate to window last out and lands a good post looking to repeat, but interestingly Zeron was listed and he opted to (7) ILLBEWATCHINGU, who seems as talented as anyone in here but is stuck outside.
Race 9: NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace
(3) CENTURY FURY has been super in two starts off the Jenn Bongiorno claim and must be followed here. (2) PATRIOT NATION has really disappointed since arriving locally for Andrew Harris and now he's listed as the 9/5 choice; don't accept too short of a price. (4) MOUNTAIN HIGH was a good second last out at The Big M.
Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) GREAT VINTAGE and (1) MACH IT SO are a couple of very classy oldtimers that have $4.5 million earned between the two of them, and they figure to be sitting one-two here. 'Vintage' comes off a win last week at Freehold and 'Mach' was second best to a good rival. Basically I flipped a coin and it landed on tails so I'll play #2. (3) OUR MAX PHACTOR N has been facing better and is the other main player in here.
