Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 11/15

Matt Rose|Nov 14, 2022
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 391 - 1107 / $1,936.70 (-$277.30)

BEST BETS: 62 - 105 / $230.20 (+$20.20)

Best Bet: HEMSWORTH N (2nd)

Spot Play: SHADOW CAT (5th)

Race 1: NW5536 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) LUCIANO N drops to the basement level and if there's ever a spot to awaken this would be it. Holland will hopefully be having him moving early. (1) BECHERS BROOK A lands his first good post in ages and did manage to pick up small shares in his last two local starts from the outside; Cullipher trainee gets Bartlett back to drive and is clearly the most logical in here. (5) SIMPLE KINDA MAN showed some improvement last week but the recent $25K claim needs to pick it up more than that.

Race 2: 3-5YO NW8 races or $106,681 lifetime Pace

(5) HEMSWORTH N faces some talented rivals again tonight but going by his first two state-side starts he's impossible to go against. (4) SHAKERTOWN watched the top choice sail by the last two weeks but he did hold for board spots both times. (6) COPPER TEEN has the speed to be a factor but hasn't been finishing late. Bartlett is back driving and they did team up for a win back in September.

Race 3: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) HEISMAN PLAYER has some ugly-looking lines but he's facing softer here than any start in recent memory and he has the class to turn things around. (1) DECOY gave way to hard pressure last week; he also faces a bit softer and draws the rail again. (2) ALEX TYE dropped and popped last out; he'll be a player from the inside.

Race 4: 3-5YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(3) SUPERVISETHEMOMENT added Lasix for last week's start and raced well; recent addition to the Burke barn could have more to offer tonight. (1) BLUE OCEAN arrives for new connections riding a four-race winning streak down at Rosecroft; can he keep it going? (4) LOU'S BEACH has been racing evenly of late and should land a piece here.

Race 5: NW21601 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) SHADOW CAT drops back to the NW20000 base level and was a strong winner with Holland driving when last in this class; he's got some speed which will help him at the outset. (2) LOUIE THE HORSE N bumped to this level last week and gave it a good try before tiring; he has a major post edge here on some of his main rivals and should be in line for a good trip. (8) FORTIFY was a solid winner last week and basically gets a free ride but he's stuck all the way outside. Burke trainee failed to get involved the last two times he raced out of the eight hole.

Race 6: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(3) TOBAGO TIME doesn't exactly get the juices flowing but she went wire-to-wire last start and lands in a similar spot tonight. (6) CALLMEQUEENBEE A was stuck in post eight last week and moves in a couple of spots here, which may be enough to get Bartlett rolling early looking for the front or a seat. (1) JOSSIE JAMES A gets a regular driver back in the bike tonight and the recent Gareth Dowse castaway does draw best.

Race 7: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) JUDDY DOUGLAS A raced well in his U.S. debut and logic would dictate that the import will be even better in his second go-around. (1) IDEALSOMEMAGIC A is another Down-Under shipper and he's making his first U.S. start off a good qualifier but Stratton opted off despite his brother training. (8) I'LL DRINK TO THAT is where Jordan landed and the Chris Ryder trainee clearly has the talent, but is stuck outside again.

Race 8: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) ELWELL looked to freshen up with a couple of months on the bench and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if the Alexander trainee was ready for action. He finished sharply in last week's qualifier at Pocono. (1) WINDSUN RICKY was aggressively handled last start but gave way late; he gets another shot from the inside facing a little softer. (4) SETH HANOVER has been hard to fault in practically all recent starts.

Race 9: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(1) BETTER WATCH IT went a long trip in her debut at this claiming level and she hung in a long way before tiring. She's obviously in line for a better trip tonight and we'll see if she has the class to compete here. (3) NUTTINBUTTHEBEST also went a decent effort on the rim last start and she gets some post relief here. (6) LAURIE LEE is drawn outside of her main competition but she has hit the board in her last five starts at this level and figures to be a healthy price.
