Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 11/14

Matt Rose|Nov 13, 2023
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2023 MEET STATS: 414 - 1161 / $2,162.70 (-$159.30)

BEST BETS: 61 - 108 / $201.90 (-$14.10)

BEST BET: ADAM TWELVE (4th)

SPOT PLAY: BLUEBIRD RECON (1st)

Race 1: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) BLUEBIRD RECON was second best from the pocket last start at this basement conditioned level and he fits well with these; veteran has early speed and a driver who likes to be aggressive. (3) LYONS LIBERTY drops to a softer level after having some decent tries versus better but he's just 1 for 22 on the season. (2) SHOREVIRW says to #3 "hold my beer" as he's 0 for 29 but he's usually good for a piece, especially from inside posts.

Race 2: 3-5YO NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(7) CHESAPEAKE SUNRISE was bet to favorite last week upon arrival and he was driven aggressively before breaking. Maybe Gingras tries firing again from the outside post at a much bigger mutuel. (3) LOOTABLE drops from the $30K claimers looking to improve on his 1 for 30 lifetime. Last week he rallied for fourth at a 74/1. (6) CHIEF CORLEONE gave a good accounting of himself in his local debut.

Race 3: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) BRAEVIEW BONDI A woke up in a big way in his last two at Philly when Tetrick took over the driving and now Brennan gets the call on the DiDomenico veteran; needs gate speed to set up the winning trip. (1) STATEMENT MADE A has been racing well at the $40K claiming level and looms large here with Bartlett. (7) SAMHARA N gets Gingras in the bike tonight and though he moves all the way outside after three rail draws he'll be a big price and seems capable with these.

Race 4: 3-5YO NW5 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(1) ADAM TWELVE shipped from Indiana, joined the Engblom barn and was caught late in a narrow loss in YR debut; another chance. (5) CLEVELAND B MIKI has been racing well and has shown tactical speed for Lachance. (2) UNDER YOUR SCARS gets serious post relief after being outside in his last three, and to his credit he put in honest efforts in defeat. Big player.

Race 5: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(2) TRAFALGAR has been a killer for this barn and will be a short price to win another; she miss a week but I can't imagine that being a concern. (4) SUGAR BRITCHES jogged in her debut at this level and the filly is the main threat; Brennan picks up the drive. (3) BETTER DOUBLE FLIP hails from Burke, deserves a look as a late player.

Race 6: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) STRAIGHT UP COOL steps up for the third consecutive start coming off a win and a second; Bartlett drives again and maybe the 'sharp horse moving up' angle can be in play. (2) JACK'S LEGEND N has burned money recently and will be a short price again; use caution. (7) HAMMERING HANK was unable to seal the deal last out versus a class higher and is just 1 for 20 on the season; use underneath.

Race 7: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) INDICTABLE HANOVER turned things around in a hurry last start up at Monticello and a similar effort can get it done here facing a soft field. (7) B LIKE CRUISER is the class but needs to fire; if he can land somewhere near the front he'll be trouble. (4) HE'S ELECTRIC is capable of landing a piece.

Race 8: NW16151 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) KINGSVILLE gets some class relief and draws an improved post; it's been a few starts since he posed a serious threat but this may be the spot. (1) SPLASH BROTHER went down the road from the eight hole on last week's drop; he's controlling speed from the rail. (3) THE REGULATOR is more than capable but hasn't been at his best recently; respect the connections.

Race 9: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(4) BETTERB CHEVRON N drops in for a tag tonight despite beating a NW30000 field three back; on paper she's the most logical but definitely not a lock. (7) ALWAYS B MIMI was better last week with the post improvement; she's back outside again but has shown some speed with Bartlett in the bike. (6) ITTY BITTY finds herself back at Yonkers and in a new barn; mare has lots of back class.

Race 10: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(4) ICARUS FALLS N has been a consistent player at this level in her last three despite not finding the wire first; Kakaley drives again facing a questionable field with main contenders to her outside. (3) ODDS ON UNICORN broke before the start and trailed upon arrival from Canada; I guess she deserves another chance to prove that she belongs here and she should be a legit price. (7) PLEASURE SEEKER has hit the board in her last five; she faces an uncertain trip, however.
