2024 MEET STATS: 300 - 975 / $1,621.70 (-$328.30) BEST BETS: 43 - 84 / $152.60 (-$15.40) BEST BET: WARRIOR FOR TRUTH (2nd) SPOT PLAY: AMERICAGREATAGAIN (4th) Race 1: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace (2) FREESTARFLIGHT faltered late in her quest to win three straight when put on the front end but her prior two tallies came from just off the pace, which is likely to happen tonight. (1) SOMWHERUNDERHEAVN was a chasing second last week and she lands the rail again; post draw makes this mare a major contender. On the other end of the spectrum post-wise is (7) JIVE DANCING A, who moves outside and will be a big price despite being a proven winner with this type. Napolitano picks up the drive. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 2-5YO winners of 2-4 or $60,000 LT Pace (3) WARRIOR FOR TRUTH has raced pretty well for these connections since arriving from the Midwest and the Indiana bred has a post edge on most of his camera-shy rivals. Feels like a winning spot. (4) GRETZKY THE GREAT has been off over four months but that was a very positive qualifier where he was a close third to two classy rivals. (5) TIMELY BET has lost by a combined 25 lengths in two starts for Engblom after arriving from Canada, but he gets Bartlett tonight and maybe that fresh set of hands helps his cause. Race 3: NW15961 in last 5 starts Pace (4) SONNY WEAVER N has been second best in four of his last five tries at this level, including last week's game try. Cullipher trainee is overdue for a win and finds a prime spot to do so. (2) MASONS DELIGHT N gets class and post relief, plus a switch to Bartlett; import seems eligible for improvement. (5) ROLLING WITH SAM has been third best in his last five, including a couple vs. comparable. Race 4: 2-5YO winners of 2-4 or $60,000 LT Pace (8) AMERICAGREATAGAIN lands an awful post again but he almost overcame it two back and Kakaley figures to be firing from the gate again. Chance for a price here with this 1 for 16 youngster. (1) BUILD THE WALL is 5 for 6 lifetime and was actually 10 cents on the dollar in a recent Meadowlands win; 3YO deserves a long look. (3) DEALERS TURN goes for three straight and is an obvious player. Race 5: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) OUTLAW MAN N looks to make it three straight Yonkers wins in only his fourth U.S. try and with Bartlett driving again for the Blackler barn this import seems like automatic selecting. (1) ULTIMAROCA rushed up into an accelerated third panel last week and was outfinished late; Gillis trainee can be excused for that in my opinion and he looms large from the rail. (3) ILIKEMEBETTOR A arrives from Canada with plenty of half-mile experience and we'll see how he fits in here. For now I'll include underneath at a price. Race 6: 3-5YO Open Pace (1) RACING RAMPAGE benefits from the open draw as he lands the rail and looks odds-on here to convert. (8) DUNKIN' is back from a couple of stakes engagements in Indiana and Ohio but as lucky as #1 got this guy gets saddled with post eight. If he gets involved we know he can win but that's a big "if". (4) HEZ ALLTHERAGE N debuted off the claim for a 0 for 67 barn and he jogged with a lifetime mark of 1:51 2/5. Speed is there, class is the question. Race 7: NW21221 in last 5 starts Pace Has (2) VENTURESOME ARDEN N tailed off, or has he been a victim of circumstance? In any event he takes a major drop in class and gets big-time post relief. (5) VICI returns from Pocono now making his third start off the two-month break in action and the Bongiorno trainee has had some nice local efforts. (4) ESCAPE TO AMERICA is a 3-year-old facing more seasoned foes tonight after a few weeks off. He was last seen in the Little Brown Jug elimination and prior to that he won the Excelsior Final. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 8: NW7501 in last 5 starts Pace (4) BENHOPE RULZ N dropped in class for last week's race and was aggressively put in play to finish second at a price. Veteran Cassar trainee drops again and was a winner when last in this low. (1) PURPLE POET was claimed three back for $40K but it hasn't worked out thus far for the Bongiorno trainee. He also gets class relief. (6) ITS MAHOMES A tired badly in his third U.S. try but he's shown good speed in all of his races since arriving from Down-Under for maybe Siegelman gets him into play early again. Race 9: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) VENIER HANOVER has zero dollars earned in his last five but the veteran drops to the bottom, picks up Bartlett and lands the rail. We've seen him wake up in a big way before. Speaking of waking up, we have the plight of (3) QUALITY BUD. It's been a long stretch of races since we've seen him do anything but this is the best spot he's seen in a while. (6) STELLAR YANKEE was odds-on here two back and got parked; he returns locally off a good try at Pocono and could offer value at his 8/1 on the morning line.
