Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 10/3

Matt Rose|Oct 02, 2023
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2023 MEET STATS: 392 - 1109 / $2,065.30 (-$152.70)

BEST BETS: 59 - 103 / $196.80 (-$9.20)

BEST BET: THIS IS THE PLAN (1st)

SPOT PLAY: TUAPEKA JESSIE N (7th)

Race 1: NW15446 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) THIS IS THE PLAN was a very comfortable winner last week after dropping to a new low and the $3 million earner should be controlling these again. (5) FEARFUL INTENT has turned things around in his last two and a similar effort will put him right there with the top one. (2) VILLIAM ships in from Batavia for Chindano and should fit with these; use for a piece.

Race 2: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(1) LITTLEBEARCAT charged home from the back passing everyone last week as the leaders were tiring and now she's back inside and can repeat using a close-up trip. (4) SHOTGUN PERSUASION was able to utilize her early speed in her last two and raced well; likely a similar strategy tonight from Buter. (3) HARMONY OF NOTES makes her second start at this reduced level and it wasn't that long ago she won at the $50K level.

Race 3: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(4) GOLDEN QUEST N picked up her game facing a bit easier in her last two and the veteran is classy enough to carry that renewed form back to this level. (2) HP XANADU was nailed on the money last out ending her streak then missed a week; she's back with Buter now picking up the drive and deserves to be the favorite again. (1) SALE EL SOL goes back to Kakaley for the Bako barn, always a notable combo. Not much early speed but she shouldn't be that far back.

Race 4: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) BUDDY HILL not only gets some class relief but also a much better post as he moves all the way to the rail. Alexander trainee is eligible to perk up in a hurry. (4) KOMODO BEACH returns from a stint at Philly and gets the leading driver back in the bike. (5) SOHO LENNON A qualified well after taking a short break in action and the gutsy 13YO can still bring it. Not sure if he can leave the gate here with speed directly to his inside, but if not he's still a candidate to save ground and finish well.

Race 5: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(2) TRAFALGAR was actually really good last week, flashing speed then grinding a long way to score first out for the Lance Hudson barn. She can repeat facing similar. (4) LADY NEWTON took the money and jogged last out; obvious player again. (5) BOLT OF BEAUTY just got nipped in a good try as the top choice got her; Siegelman now picks up the catch drive and should offer some value with others garnering the attention.

Race 6: 2-5YO NW2 races or $31,709 lifetime Pace

(2) ELM GROVE QUIGGLY was plucked from the Maritimes by Engblom & connections, qualified nicely, gets Bartlett and still qualifies for this NW2 because of the low purses he raced for. (4) INSTANT REPLAY was decent upon arrival and the Cassar trainee seems eligible to improve a touch. (3) UNDER YOUR SCARS was a winner when last at this conditioned level and was written in here; he's got a chance.

Race 7: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(3) TUAPEKA JESSIE N raced well upon arrival and this barn had another one on that card who performed well; she's 0 for 18 on the season but seems to be knocking on the door. (1) SWEET SANDY LOU would be a logical favorite moving inside for good connections. (5) DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE gets Holland back in the bike and he gets along with this veteran mare.

Race 8: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) RED RIGHT HAND seems too talented to be stuck on one win for the season but he was overmatched in many of those races. Local return last week wasn't all that exciting but maybe he's handled more aggressively here. (2) VENIER HANOVER is off almost a month but when right he's capable of a big-league effort. (1) BENHOPE RULZ N is best a level or two down but he's got speed from the rail and can certainly hit the ticket.

Race 9: 3-5YO NW4 races or $72,281 lifetime Pace

(3) COACHES CORNER was much the best in his local debut after arriving from the Indiana fair scene and he faces much of the same here; deserving favorite. (2) LAZ raced very well to be second best to the top one, proving that he could handle the hike in class; second best again? (7) ROCK THE BELLES gets to drop back down to this NW4 level as the money cap was altered but he lands outside and will need some help.
