Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 10/27

Matt Rose|Oct 26, 2020
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 189 - 556 / $952.10 (-$159.90)
BEST BETS: 31 - 53 / $102.80 (-$3.20)
Best Bet:
LINDSEY'S PRIDE (6th)
Spot Play: ALEXANDRIA HANOVER (2nd)

Race 1: F&M NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(5) UPTOWN CALLIE had a productive local debut after arriving from Canada and the Stafford trainee can take the next logical step forward tonight. (1) WOODMERE HARRIET has raced decently in all four local starts but has still been shut out of the win column; with a good getaway from the rail position she should be the main threat to the top one. (2) LADY SPOHIA didn't reach last week but raced well the start prior; post relief helps.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) ALEXANDRIA HANOVER took money from the eight hole in her last two, came close two back and never got involved last week. The move inside will help immensely. (8) MUSCLE AVE returns from Running Aces and he's got plenty of local experience; obviously the missed time and the bad draw are concerns but he definitely fits with these. (3) CON AIR HALL drops in class and should show more.

Race 3: NW2 races or $25,200 lifetime Pace

(1) MAJOR NIGHT OUT returns locally off a win at Philly versus their NW1 types and he draws best while getting a very interesting driver switch to Bartlett; filly looks like the one to catch. (7) LUCK B MINE jogged last week and gets to face NW2's again; obvious threat to repeat. (3) GABBY TABBY cut the mile and tired last start; prior off-the-pace efforts were good.

Race 4: NW5050 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) BLUE AND BOLD has stayed trotting in his last two and he did finish up well last week; I'll give him another chance to hold it all together for the entire mile and polish it off late. (1) OMAHA OMAHA is another with recent breaking issues that are hopefully behind him; Bucci trainee has raced well with much better than these in the past. (5) NOMO VOLO was picked off late in a good try last week; Zeron drives again and they figure to be on the move early.

Race 5: F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) MORE THAN MANY hasn't been at her best recently but she's proven more than capable with this type and the veteran mare can get it done with a smooth trip. (1) LA ALWAYS A MARTINI is another one who has been underachieving but seems capable of turning it around in a hurry. (8) CAY'S BLESSING lures Bartlett and she's been facing better recently out of town; eight hole is obviously a problem but I have to assume horse and pilot will not want to be coming from last so we'll see if she can have any luck off the gate.

Race 6: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot

(6) LINDSEY'S PRIDE has been facing much better recently, including a third-place finish four back to Now's The Moment and Obrigado. Erv Miller trainee should find a way to beat these. (1) CLARION HALL also gets class relief and he's got plenty of speed from the best post. (4) SIR JOHN F could work out a minor award with a smooth trip.

Race 7: F&M NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(5) TIPPERARY HILL has been decent in her last two for the John Stark Jr. barn and Bartlett catch-drives again; worth a try. (1) EYE POPPING has a couple of red flags, namely the sick scratch and missed time; but if the DiDomenico trainee is ready to go she'll be tough to catch. (2) READY SET ROCK was third best last out and could hit the ticket again with a close-up trip.

Race 8: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) NEW HEAVEN gets the class relief he needs to get back on the winning track. (4) JNR EXPRESS left for a seat last week and proved third best at a big price versus two tough rivals; Bartlett drives again from an improved post. (2) SECRET BRO got that long-overdue win last week after burning plenty of money and he steps up in class; in line for a smaller share.

Race 9: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot

(5) MONEY MAVEN hasn't really fired in his last few but the classy veteran gets a fresh set of hands in Bartlett and is eligible to wake up. (3) LORD CROMWELL steps back up the ladder looking for two straight and he's another one with class to him. (8) WINDSONG PIONEER blasted home in 1:54 4/5 last week; certainly an interesting one to consider.

Race 10: F&M NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(2) ACEFORTYFOUR DOME has taken three straight in impressive fashion since arriving from Canada and she's well-spotted to win another. (7) JK FINENDANDY was in a tough spot in the Courageous Lady at Northfield and never fired; Jenn Bongiorno trainee is back at a level where she will be a big contender, despite the outside post. (4) LEMON ZEST goes for two straight for the hot Lachance barn but she faces some tough ones in here.
