?q=100)
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2023
2023 MEET STATS: 414 - 1161 / $2,162.70 (-$159.30)
BEST BETS: 61 - 108 / $201.90 (-$14.10)
BEST BET: ELM GROVE QUIGGLY (8th)
SPOT PLAY: TRAFALGAR (5th)
Experimenting with a truncated version of my analysis for today:
Race 1: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(3) PARADISE ROCK L only took two starts to reach the winner's circle for these connections and though she takes a big jump in class tonight I think she's capable, and it's a chance to get a good price.
Exa: 3/1,4,6 and 1,4,6/3
Race 2: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) BETTERROCK was nipped on the wire last start in a mile timed in 1:52 3/5 and it was a decent wakeup call as he steps back up in class. Hoping Bartlett sends him to the front again.
Exa: 4/1,3,5
Race 3: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) THE REGULATOR gets important class relief and can control the action from the rail. Tactical edge may be enough to hold them off.
Exa: 1/2,3,4
Race 4: 3-5YO NW2 races or $26,021 lifetime Pace
(2) MONEY EXCHANGE piqued my interest three back upon arrival from Canada for new connections in the Jenn Bongiorno barn and he scored in his third start out. Can repeat from similar spot.
Exa: 2/4 and small 4/2
Race 5: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace
(7) TRAFALGAR has been razor-sharp since returning from time off the the Lance Hudson barn. Mare gets Bartlett in the bike and will be a price in this competitive race.
Exa: 7/2,3,4 and 2,3,4/7
Race 6: NW11516 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) MY CARBON COPY N doesn't win often but he fits with these and has had decent late pace in his last few. Lachance has been driving more aggressively lately and this veteran does have some speed.
Exa: 3/2,4 and 2,4/3
Race 7: NW21001 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) FORTIFY wired the field from a similar spot two back and rallied stoutly last week to make it close at the wire. Versatile Burke trainee is clearly the one to beat tonight.
Exa: 3/1,5
Race 8: 3-5YO NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace
(3) ELM GROVE QUIGGLY was second best to a runaway favorite last week in a variant-busting race and that's two solid starts since arriving from the Maritimes. Engblom trainee looks to roll here as the chalk.
Exa: 3/2,4 exa
Race 9: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace
(2) SHOTGUN PERSUASION has been live in all recent starts and was finally claimed last week as the Megan Scran barn dipped in for $20K and leaves her at the same level; Buter keeps the drive.
Exa: 2/4,6,7
