Race 1: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(5) FREESTARFLIGHT has faltered in her last two when put on the front end but won her prior two when stalking from just off the pace; looks like sitting the pocket here would be ideal. (1) PREMIER SWEETALKER was never involved then suffered broken equipment in her first local start in claimers after winning her prior two. Post relief makes her a major player. (3) SALE EL SOL has looked good since the recent barn change and draws well enough again to make an impact.

Race 2: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) FUNATTHEBEACH dropped down to the lowest level he’d seen in ages three races back and has worked his way back up the ladder now going for four straight wins; classy vet gets the call again. (4) BLUE LOU has also been streaking for the Engblom/Bartlett connections. (2) PEACE OUT POSSE saw his own win streak snapped last week when hiked to this level and is now back in for a tag so he can stay in the same class; not impossible here even with the presence of the top two choices.

Race 3: NW10751 in last 5 starts Pace

I’ve been stuck on (2) SINBAD N for months now and now with the major post relief I’m inclined to give him another chance. Even three back after he broke from the rail he was still only beaten less than a length. (4) LYONS SURFING goes second-time for Shane Tritton after a willing first race; the favorite? (8) JAHAN HANOVER is stuck in post eight but if Bartlett can get him out of there he can win this.

Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) JET ROCK is another in a long line of Canadian imports for Pat Lachance and there’s no reason to think this veteran won’t do well. (5) MULLINAX hasn’t raced in a year but he was very sharp in that Monticello qualifier and he picks up Bartlett. (1) RICARDOSHILYSHALLY makes his second start for Alexander and may show more; 0 for 27 however.

Race 5: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(3) PROVE EM WRONG gets hard-to-miss post relief here for top connections and could turn things around with a lively trip. (4) PINK RUBY has won two of three for Stratton; logical. (2) MODERNA HANOVER makes her local debut for the DiDomenico barn and gets Brennan from a good inside spot.

Race 6: NW18411 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) CADILLAC BAYAMA is another Quebec-bred for Lachance and he returns locally into a softer spot; he was second best against similar two back. (6) NONE BETTOR A steps back up a level but the classy veteran has raced well in his last three with Napolitano driving and he figures to be forwardly placed with the millionaire. (1) WESTERN ERA was a bit overmatched at one of the top levels recently judging by his odds but the drop and rail draw makes him a contender.

Race 7: Winners of 2-4 races or $60,000 lifetime Pace

(3) DEALERS TURN has been in career form recently as evidenced by that life mark two back; just 3 for 31 lifetime but definitely on the upswing. (2) TEXAS HOLDEM has been short recently after wiring the field four back but the Schnittker trainee figures to be in line for a live trip again. (1) ONYX BOVINO ships in from Canada off a strong couple of wins and enters the Bako barn. He’s off a bit of time but deserves following.

Race 8: 3-5YO Open Pace

(3) BIRTHDAY has cut the mile in his last three but has come up short in each; Burke trainee is proven capable of beating these and maybe opting for a stalking trip works out better. (2) IT’S A ME MARIO is back off a brief break in action and he was a winner two back before managing a check in the Aria invite. Looms large from inside draw. (8) VERDUN has been amazing since the claim by Lachance and even overcame the eight hole last week; he’s assigned outside again going for six straight.

Race 9: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(4) FRONDEUR enters a new barn via claim but has been good for multiple outfits recently and she goes for three straight overall; top call as likely chalk. (1) SHOTGUN PERSUASION has been right there in her last three starts for the Ruiz barn and draws inside again; very logical. (2) ITTY BITTY is back in for a tag after missing some time with an injured scratch; I’ve been stuck on this veteran for a while so I at least have to consider her tonight.

Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) SARANAC BLUE CHIP returns to Yonkers after a scintillating score last out at Freehold and he doesn’t exactly face an overpowering field here. He’s won three of the last four times Siegelman drove. (3) GREG THE LEG drops in his second start off the two-month break and he’s capable of so much better. (1) ROCK THE BELLES comes in from Ohio and joins the Bongiorno barn. He was in the Open at Scioto not too long ago and should fit well here, but 4/5 morning line?
