Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 10/13

Matt Rose|Oct 12, 2020
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 171 - 509 / $884.70 (-$133.30)
BEST BETS: 29 - 49 / $96.90 (-$1.10)
Best Bet:
SUMATRA (9th)
Spot Play: SHE'SONEHOTWRITER (1st)

Race 1: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(4) SHE'SONEHOTWRITER showed much more life in her last start and can build off that effort switching to Bartlett. (5) WOODMERE HARRIET was a solid second last out, showing improvement from her local debut where she did finish willingly; filly looks like a big player here. (3) SWEETEST IDEAL was a winner in her career debut up at Vernon and the 2-year-old tries her luck over the half-mile oval going for four times the money.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(6) BLUE AND BOLD was bearing down on the leader in his last two starts but made stretch breaks in both of those races; obviously the connections are looking for a clean line but he'll offer a decent price tonight after taking loads of money in those prior two races; who knows? (5) KEYSTONE CHARGER can go with this type and has been known to leave the gate on occasion. (1) FREDDIE MAC doesn't win often enough for my tastes.

Race 3: NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(5) LITTLE SANDY TOES was a well-rated winner holding off (1) WESTMONT Z TAM in the process; these two may line up around the track again with the same results. (6) FLIRTY FORTY arrives from Pocono off two easy wins but unfortunately is drawn outside the top two.

Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) SECRET BRO has burned big-time money in his last two but the horse that held him off last week has some talent; I guess he deserves one more try. (4) WATKINS finally got that overdue win last week and is clearly capable of repeating. (7) EXS AND OHS is currently on a "break every other start" cycle so is she due to behave herself tonight at a price? Corelli trainee fits with these.

Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot - $7,500 GTD PICK-5

(4) FRENCH MONI was a strong winner last out at Freehold with young Tyler Miller in the bike and now she gets Bartlett in the sulky for her local return; repeat of that effort may be good enough to get it done. (1) WINDSONG PIONEER returns off a sharp win at Philly and was facing better when last seen here. (5) VALLORIA N was much better last week and while I don't get that excited about Tritton-trained trotters vs. pacers this one has to be respected.

Race 6: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(2) SO NICE HANOVER never got involved last week but she looked good in those prior two tries and the post relief will help her cause. (3) ACEFORTYFOUR DOME has taken two straight in game fashion since arriving from Canada and joining the DiDomenico barn; obvious player and likely favorite. (1) GIT GO was second best at big numbers in her last two at Freehold in NJ stakes action.

Race 7: NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime Pace

(1) MOANING LISA and (2) GALLERIA GAL both had successful seasons in the NYSS, both come off of wins in Pennsylvania and both still qualify for this NW4 event; I'll give the edge to the Chris Ryder-trained 'Lisa' who figures to have a tactical advantage. (4) WIGGLE DELIGHT and (5) EYE POPPING are a couple of speedy locals who make this a very interesting race.

Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) LORD CROMWELL is still looking for his first seasonal victory and he drops to a lower level he's not accustomed to facing; hard to imagine him not getting the job done here. (5) BLENHEIM returns from Ohio and rejoins the Lance Hudson barn; veteran has had plenty of local success in the past. (1) DIRTY SECRET stayed safe two back then was a game trip-sitting winner last out; she faces better but draws best and could land a share.

Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) SUMATRA, like Lord Cromwell in the prior race, drops to a winning level and may have too much class for these. (4) IN MY DREAMS suddenly developed a breaking problem but he qualified back nicely and can go well here if he minds his manners. (1) SIR JOHN F hit the board in his last three and now gets major post relief.

Race 10: F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) DONGAL RUNDLSCRK N was second best last week when dropped to this bottom-conditioned level and the mare draws a similarly good post tonight; Vallee trainee appears the one to beat in the finale. (8) FOLLOWTHEWIND N is expected to be firing from the gate and will be a player if she's not too hard-used in the early stages. (1) DEUCES FOR CHARITY never wins but she can save ground and land a piece.
