Yonkers: Analysis for Tuesday 10/10

Race 1: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(3) HP XANADU was collared in her last two and had to settle for second but the mare looks to have a clear path to the front again and the inside post edge could dissuade any outside leavers. I think she gets back on track here. (2) SHECANDANCE N rallied well for second last start at a price and though she hasn't won in a while she rarely puts in a bad effort. (6) BELLADONNA GIRL A was used harder than I thought she would be in that last start and she folded up under pressure. Bartlett drives again and the price will go way up.

Race 2: Dash for the Cash 9/16 Mile Open Pace

(1) THIS IS THE PLAN dropped all the way to NW10000 and now after two wins he's back with Open players. Drawing the rail is an obvious advantage in this shortened event. (5) LEONIDAS A got that long-overdue win last week and I'll look for aggressive early handling again. If he can't fire maybe Stratton tries with (6) COVERED BRIDGE. Gelding is a remarkable 15 for 30 on the year.

Race 3: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) YOROKOBI N has been close in practically every local start, including last week at this level where he finished willingly at a big price. Import will offer value again and is capable with a good trip. (2) KARLOO BRADLEY N is a recent import for Bako who has done little wrong; he'll attract plenty of attention from this spot and will probably be an underlay. (8) GROOVY JOE is stuck outside again but he does have plenty of class and will be a price if he can sneak into the number.

Race 4: 3-5YO NW3 races or $25,000 lifetime Pace

(2) MONEY EXCHANGE was okay in his first local start for the Jenn Bongiorno barn and he showed good improvement last week. Joe B drives tonight and seems ready to take the next step. (4) ALWAYS B NICKY probably needed last week's acclimating start and figures to have more to offer here. (3) YANKEE CLOUT was a good third last start and these Whelan trainees usually outperform their odds.

Race 5: F&M $50,000 Claiming Pace

(2) LADY NEWTON brushed and crushed two back then was put on the front last week and gave way late as the sharp pocket-sitter rolled by; maybe Stratton will revert back to off-the-pace tactics. (4) MIKI THE CLOWN had won two straight and three of four before throwing in that clunker last start. She is proven capable, however, and will offer a much better price. (1) SALE EL SOL was a sharp winner last week for good connections and is hard to ignore after landing the rail again.

Race 6: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) SEVEN HUNDRED has been right there in every recent local start and he gets a free ride at this level by meeting the NW9 condition; Money Man Scott Zeron picks up the drive for Megan Scran and he'll be forwardly placed. (1) BURNHAM BOY N rolled to an easy win last week against a notch lesser in his first start for the Dilloian barn and he's likely got another level or two in him. (5) WINDSUN RICKY takes another needed drop in class but faces an uncertain trip; we do know Holland likes to leave the gate, however.

Race 7: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) LEVINE is back at Yonkers at a reduced level and with an improved post. Gelding already has a couple of wins against better this season. (5) CRANBOURNE N finished well for second in his U.S. debut and a more aggressive effort could be coming. (1) CAVEMAN A gets Bartlett in the bike tonight for Cullipher and has some early speed.

Race 8: NW21751 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) FORTIFY was in a bit over his head in his last few races, as his odds would indicate. Burke trainee has a front-end win and a pocket-sitting second in his last two tries at this level. (5) FREQUENT IMAGE may have something to prove class-wise but there's no denying how sharp he is. If Kakaley can make the front he may be trouble. (1) SPLASH BROTHER is proven capable with this kind though his best chance for a win comes a level or two down. Veteran should land a good piece.

Race 9: 3-5YO NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime Pace

(3) ONTOP RAINMAN was right there last start against #7, who projects to be one of the favorites. Whelan trainee has multiple close-up races with similar and will offer his usual value. Not impossible. (5) LOUS THE ATTITUDE returned from an unsuccessful stint in Lexington and was not a serious threat. 3YO from top connections is in a good spot to try more aggressive handling. (7) CHURCHVIEWFRANKL IR is 10 for 10 in the money and looks to repeat in the win column but the seven hole makes things tough.

Race 10: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace

(6) HARMONY OF NOTES just missed last week and has been showing speed in prior efforts while facing better at the $50K level. Mare is likely to be ignored in the wagering with #1 and #2 figuring to split the money, but honestly do you trust either of them? (4) PLEASURE SEEKER has finished third in her last three races with good last-quarter action; maybe she can move up a notch. (2) FEELING RED HOT sailed along on the front last start and crumbled in the lane. Obviously she's capable, and getting away with softer splits helps the cause.
