Race 1 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace
(5) TIPP CITY gets to drop to the bottom level in her second start back in the Travis Alexander barn. She was a close third against NW10000L5's back on August 13, and I expect her to be on or near the front here. (1) MILLIONDOLLARGEM A finished second in a NW5000L5 two back at Yonkers and then made the front from first-over up at Plainridge before getting caught in the lane. I think she may be able to get the two-hole from the pole position again and will include. (6) FOLLOWTHEWIND N has won two straight at the level but moves outside on the gate, and I think she might have trouble making the lead if Brennan sends her again.
Race 2 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace
(4) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX cut the fractions on August 20 and wound up second-best. She does draw an improved post tonight, and I hope she might offer a little bit better price, too. (2) CHASE YOU had a strong 3-year-old season that included her life's-best mark here at Yonkers. She just started her 2020 campaign in mid-August and should enjoy racing NW5000L5's a lot more than she did the Opens up at Saratoga. (3) THREEDEE DELIGHT A has hit the board in six of her 13 efforts this year, although she hasn't won. She was favored in a race at the Meadowlands back in July and exits a third-place effort against similar-looking foes to these at Pocono.
Race 3 - F&M NW25000L5/3&4YO NW10/40000CLM Pace
(4) LADY DELA RENTA A was a little bit fortunate to find racing room up the inside in the lane back on August 20 but took advantage, rallying through to the win. She's two-for-two since coming into the Tritton barn, and since she doesn't have to bump up to the Open level yet, I'll give her another try. (5) IMPRINCESSGEMMA A won pretty easily in this class two starts ago and has shown the ability to lead and to rally, giving Bongiorno options on how to race her. (2) PAMMY JO has developed into a very nice horse for trainer Marthe Drolet. She does step up tonight, but she was an impressive winner over that NW17500L5 group from first-over a week ago and closed well for a third prior to that.
Race 4 - F&M NW10000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/20000CLM Pace
(1) ROSE RUN TONI scored two straight wins at this level on July 23 and the 6th of August and then just missed over at Pocono while suffering broken equipment. I'll hope she can work out something like a two-hole trip and use. (5) MADE OF JEWELS AS may have needed that start on August 13 since she hadn't made a pari-mutuel appearance since back in March. It was a pretty good fourth, and I think this is a little bit softer group. (6) PITTSTOP DANIKA prevailed at long odds against a NW10000L5 field on June 30 and gets to return to this class after several tries against NW17500L5's. She has Bartlett back in the bike.
Race 5 - NW10000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/20000CLM Pace
(1) ARCHANGEL THREE pretty much had every chance to win after cutting the mile on August 24 but came up second-best. I couldn't blame anybody for going against him based on that, but Harris's barn has started to heat up again in the last couple days, and I'll give him another shot. (2) MASTERSON finished well to end up second-best to Moonshine Kisses in his most recent effort. Bartlett stuck with Archangel Three, so Stratton picks up the live-looking drive. (3) JET ROCK steps up tonight, but I liked his victory over that NW5000L5 group since he finished up in 27 3/5 and defeated a classy foe in Doctor Butch.
Race 6 - NW10000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/20000CLM Pace
(1) PERFECTLY CLOSE shifts to the pole position this week and gets a chance to be driven by Scott Zeron. He's been post or trip compromised in several recent efforts, and I'll hope for a smooth journey and a decent price. (5) DON DOMINGO N was victorious in pretty facile fashion the last time he got to race against NW10000L5's on July 31. I expect much more aggressive handling in this spot. (3) LUCIANO N continues to drop down in class after finishing fourth against NW17500L5's most recently. He was in the Open as recently as July 24, so I think he's definitely usable.
Race 7 - F&M NW10000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/20000CLM Pace
(2) LUCKY ARTIST A changes barns tonight, going to Andrew Harris. She's been racing well in similar classes over at Pocono, including a win in their NW12000L5 on August 2. She showed 26 2/5 first quarter speed to make the lead from post seven most recently, so that should give Bartlett plenty of confidence to hustle her out of there. (3) DEUCES FOR CHARITY finished up her mile pretty well from post seven last Thursday. She gets some post relief tonight and should offer a price in trifectas and superfectas. (5) BETTERB CHEVRON N looks pretty logical as she slides down from the NW17500L5's off a closing third. She hasn't won in 2020, so I will try to beat her at what I think might be a fairly short price.
Race 8 - F&M NW17500L5/30000CLM Pace
(4) SASKATOON owns three straight excuse lines - she had two post eights on 7-27 and 8-6 and then got parked last Tuesday. I really liked her win in the consolation of that series on July 20 and some of her prior efforts up in Canada. Trainer Carmen Auciello had a trio of winners a week ago, and I'll hope he has one here. (1) DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE has been racing against better since returning to racing and also had outside posts in her last three. This is probably a spot where she can threaten. (5) VORST finished second to Pammy Jo last Thursday in another good effort. She has a win and two seconds in her last three appearances.
Race 9 - F&M NW17500L5/30000CLM Pace
(4) BYE BYE MICHELLE came over to Yonkers in late August in sharp form from Pocono, and she's kept things going here. She just missed by a nose with another strong closing effort last Thursday, and I think might offer a little bit of value again. (3) NEVERFORGETWHOUR squeezes into this class again despite having won two straight at the level. She even paid 4-1 again a week ago, but I think she'll probably get bet down tonight. (2) CORAL BELLA gets an improved post tonight, and I don't mind Scott Zeron picking up the drive. She won against NW10000L5's two back and then was second against NW17500L5's after that.
