MEET STATS: 145 - 419 / $764.90 (-$73.10)
BEST BETS: 22 - 39 / $70.70 (-$7.30)
Best Bet: SOUTHWIND AVENGER (4th)
Spot Play: BULLVILLEKARLA (1st)
Race 1 - F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) BULLVILLEKARLA was an easy winner at The Big M three back and paced a nice second half in her last local try; lack of early speed can hurt but she's proven here and can get it done with smooth sailing. (2) BETTERTHANBRIE is knocking on the door with three consecutive runner-up efforts. (4) OUR MISS REESE makes her second start at this reduced level and did show some improvement last out.
Race 2 - NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime Trot
(5) BURBERRY ships in for Team Zeron after facing some decent foes out of town; filly is just 1 for 15 lifetime but may fit well here. (3) SWEET HEART AS has taken her last two versus Excelsior A types for a good trotting barn; one to catch. (6) MAGNIFICENT SEVEN won by open lengths in his last two; obvious player.
Race 3 - F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) LADY MAYA has outraced her odds in her last two and she draws well again finding a field lacking a standout. (6) NORMAN'S MADELINE has current form that is hard to fault. (4) AMATEUR HOUR returns locally off an upset win at Pocono and she does have some back class.
Race 4 - NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime Trot
(2) SOUTHWIND AVENGER was very game in defeat here in his seasonal debut and followed that up with a win in a Graduate leg at The Meadowlands; Nifty Norman trainee seems to clearly stand above the rest of these. (1) PURPOSE BLUE CHIP has speed and the best starting spot for Dan Daley but he needs to show a bit more late stamina; use underneath. (8) BIG MONEY HONEY lacks the class of others in here as he steps up to face tougher but he's shown good early foot and perhaps Holland can improve position early and sneak into the number at a big price.
Race 5 - F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) AMBRO COURAGE N jogged first out off the Sodano claim then broke in her last start; she's get the best post now and Bartlett may be cutting the mile here. (4) MONICA GALLAGHER drops in class again and is certainly a solid threat but she hasn't been at her best for this barn since returning from the break. (5) MILLIONDOLLARGEM A bumps up in class off a win and keeps Stratton; closing threat.
Race 6 - F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) ROSE RUN TONI comes off a rare poor outing but the Garcia-Herrera trainee draws well again and Siegelman sticks with her; another chance. (3) SURREAL FEELING has been a model of consistency up at Saratoga and Bartlett gets the call upon arrival. (1) MALNIFICENT draws best and should be close up throughout.
Race 7 - NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) AMERICAN BOY N has clearly come up short while facing better in his two starts since returning locally but the Cassar trainee drops to a new low and seems classy enough to bounce back. (5) FUNKNWAFFLES finds his way back to Yonkers after regaining his form upstate and the NYSS champ will be a major player here. (1) BLUEBIRD RECON faces better but seems fast enough to hold for a share.
Race 8 - F&M Preferred Handicap Pace
(6) MY REUBE STAR N has done nothing wrong since arriving in the U.S. for Shane Tritton and if Stratton can make front with her she may be tough to run down. If not, she seems talented enough to stalk and rush by late. (1) LISPATTY has proven that she can go with this type, especially from inside posts. (5) APPLE BOTTOM JEANS returns to Yonkers looking for three straight but she did fail in her last local try.
Race 9 - F&M NW17500 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) ABIGAIL DAWN is a four-year-old facing more seasoned rivals but the Chris Ryder trainee is sharp and it's proven she likes to win. (3) D GS ELSA has been off for an extended period of time but the Jenn Bongiorno trainee may be ready for action off that qualifier. (2) VORST has good speed and an inside draw.
