Race 1 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace

(7) LINE EM UP has a barn change to Jenn Bongiorno tonight and was in against NW8's the last time she was seen at Yonkers. She meets up with bottom-level foes here, and no one really stands out. (1) CHECKERED PAST takes a second shot against NW5000L5's here and picks up Jason Bartlett in the bike. (3) ALWAYS BE COOL is not very consistent but she has shown the ability to win in this class at her best.

Race 2 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM/F&M NW10 PM Races LT / F&M NW15000L5 or F&M NW9 PM Races LT Drawn Inside Pace

(7) DC BATGIRL won two back and then closed well to finish fourth a couple weeks ago. I will bank on her having value again and put on top. (5) EDGE OF ETERNITY drops after finishing fourth in a NW30000L5 race last Thursday and the three she finished behind would all be heavy favorites in this event. (3) BABS JANSEN has been first, second, or third in five of her last seven starts and gets some post relief tonight.

Race 3 - NW4/50000LT Trot

(1) BANK BREAKS gets some post relief tonight after starting from the six-hole last Wednesday. She might get overlooked a bit, I think, and really hasn't done anything wrong since coming in from Harrah's Philadelphia. (4) CANTSTOP YANKEE won impressively over NW2's a week ago in his first appearance down from Saratoga and races for connections that are always capable of having one ready to go a big trip. (5) FLIP THE SWITCH is reunited with Bartlett tonight after topping NW2 foes last Wednesday.

Race 4 - F&M NW5276L5/12500CLM Pace

(6) LADY DELA RENTA A paced a 28 and change last quarter against NW7500L5 base class foes a week ago, which signals to me that she's sharpened up and ready for a strong performance as she drops down to the bottom level. (4) ALWAYS A MIRACLE tallied the last time she competed in a NW5000L5 race at Yonkers on June 2. (3) LADYBELUCKYTONITE comes in with two straight third-place finishes at higher levels and slides down another notch tonight.

Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Trot

(5) VENDOR BILL romped over NW4's on 7-7. If anything he should be tighter tonight since that was his first start back after a layoff, and he's the only horse that shows a victory at this level. (2) JBN performed well to finish second to the well-meant Cantstop Yankee last Thursday and has post relief in this race. (8) BY A HOFF HANOVER is pretty sharp with on-the-board finishes in five of his last seven appearances, and I'll throw him in.

Race 6 - F&M NW10656L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Pace

(7) JIVE DANCING A doesn't show much in the way of form in her last three races, but she does drop another notch, and I know one of these times she's going to fire and probably pay a square number. I'd like to be onboard when she does, so I'll give her another chance. (5) POPPY DRAYTON N rallied to win over NW7500L5's last Thursday and is likely capable of handling the step up in class. (2) GAME OF SHADOWS has a post relief/class drop combo working in her favor in this race. She was a solid second versus NW20000L5's three back.

Race 7 - F&M Open Handicap Pace

(3) VIOLETS RAINBOW might not be quite up to winning at the Open level when the dust settles, but she did rally to finish fourth a week ago and is inside the other logical ones on the gate tonight. She also retained Tyler Buter over another one in here. (6) MCMARKLE SPARKLE is the force in the Open right now with two straight romping victories. Greg Merton has done well with her and gets another chance in the seat tonight. (4) DELITFULCATHERIN N is very sharp right now and was the runner-up to McMarkle Sparkle last Thursday.

Race 8 - F&M NW31251L5/4&5YO F&M NW12 PM Races LT/75000CLM/F&M NW20000L5 Drawn Inside Pace

(4) REACHTHRUTHESKY AS finished second to McMarkle Sparkle in the Open two back and then had no shot from an outside post a week ago. She drops a level and moves inside on the gate tonight. (3) DRAGON ROLL tallied in this class a week ago and gets another chance at it tonight. (2) BETTERB CHEVRON N was third at this level on 6-30 and is another one who drew a much-improved starting position this week.

Race 9 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in the Last Start of Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Pace

(6) SHECANDANCE N owns a pretty good history at Yonkers and comes in from Pocono after finishing second to the well-meant Westbeach on July 10. (5) ANNE BONNEY N finished third against NW7500L5's two back at Yonkers and is also back on the half-mile oval tonight after being at Pocono most recently. (4) ROCKNROLL SHELLI shows beating NW10000L5's back on May 12 and could definitely be sharper since she is making her second start back off a qualifier here.
