(4) FRINGED won in the Excelsior "A" Series on July 7 at Goshen Historic Track. It looks like based on that performance and his couple of wins back in May that he's a need-the-lead type. (3) BUT WHY is just one-for-ten in the win column but hit the board against Excelsior "A" Series foes at both Buffalo and Goshen recently. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - New York Sire Stakes 3YO C&G Trot (1) SIR PINOCCHIO broke in the Zweig most recently but took the MGM Yonkers Trot here at Yonkers prior to that, and I'll look for a rebound. (4) KEEP ASKING also comes in off a miscue at Saratoga but reunites with Buter and shows a second at Buffalo and a win at Monticello in his last two sire stakes outings. (3) THINKER MONKEY has shown a propensity for finishing third so far in his career, and that's where I'll slot him again. He gets Scott Zeron back in the bike here. Race 3 - New York Excelsior "A" Series 3YO C&G Trot (1) CHAPLIND was racing in the sire stakes back in May and June, so this is a drop to the lower level Excelsior "A" Series and he makes his third start with trotting hobbles on. (2) RAMBORAIN has been out of the top three just twice in nine appearances this year and was third in a division of the Excelsior "A" Series last time out at Goshen. (4) MIGHTY DEO was the victor in that Excelsior "A" tilt at Goshen that RAMBORAIN comes out of and partners with Jordan Stratton for the second time. Race 4 - New York Excelsior "A" Series 3YO C&G Trot (6) SKY BOX starts from the outside but shows a win in the Excelsior "A" Series at Monticello at 6-3 and has also performed well in his recent overnight appearances at Yonkers. (5) PEPPER WOW hasn't been off the board in six starts so far in 2024 and comes back to the Excelsior "A" Series off a romping win last time out at Plainridge. (2) TOBERN seems to have found his form in his last two outings as he won at Buffalo and was third at Goshen. He gets some post relief in this spot, too. Race 5 - New York Sire Stakes 3YO C&G Trot (2) SUPER DUPER COOPER prevailed at Buffalo in his last sire stakes start and closed in 27 and change while finishing in a dead-heat for sixth against open company in the Zweig on July 4. (1) FLY BY just missed in the MGM Yonkers Trot elim and then was fourth despite an early miscue in the final. He was also second in a sire stakes split at Monticello on 6-3. (6) VICTOR LASZLO was third to SUPER DUPER COOPER at Buffalo, and although he starts from the outside, driver Mark MacDonald is often aggressive, especially with Ray Schnittker's horses. Race 6 - NAADA Amateur Summer Series Leg #7 Trot (2) KASHA'S BOY has struggled to find the winner's circle the last two years but was third in the Open at Monticello most recently and trainer/driver Alan Schwartz has proven tough to beat in amateur races at Yonkers. (4) PSALMSFORTYSIXFIVE minded his manners at Monticello last time out and is making his second start with trotting hobbles on. This horse was very sharp earlier this year. (7) STICK WITH ME KID had no trouble from post seven at Monticello twice this month, winning two in-a-row and even overcoming a break past the start last Wednesday. Race 7 - NW21231L5/Winners in the Last Start of the Base Class NW15000L5/NW10 PM Races LT/60000CLM Trot (4) BLACK MAGIC exits the Graduate Series where he was facing the best 4-year-old trotters around. Prior to those efforts, he won two straight overnight races at Pocono pretty handily. (6) UNEVERGONNAGETHIS double-drops in class out of the Invitational and gets reunited with Jordan Stratton. He won at a level higher than this back on May 30. (3) WARRIOR ONE has burned some money in his last two outings as he couldn't win when favored, but he did tally over NW20000L5 company on the 20th of June and has owner Yannick Gingras in the bike for Ron Burke. Race 8 - NAADA Amateur Summer Series Leg #7 Trot (8) EXPLOSIVE RIDGE landed the outside post, but he's so sharp right now, and trainer Andrew Adamczyk has been sending out plenty of live horses overall lately. Maybe he'll even offer a little bit of extra value given the poor draw. (4) RACEACE is another Alan Schwartz horse, so you have to respect that right off the bat. He cut the mile and wound up second when last seen at Yonkers on June 6. (3) BEACON BEACH had post eight and was interfered with in his last try on July 4, so I'll focus more on his good efforts both here and at the Meadowlands before that and include. Race 9 - 3-5YO 20000CLM Pace (3) CELLMATE wound up getting bothered on the first turn last week and was too far back to make an impact. He did close out his mile in 27 and change, though, so I think he still has some sneaky form, and I'll give him a chance here. He also slides in a couple of notches on the gate. (4) BAD BOY TOO tallied last Thursday in his first outing for the Adamczyk barn and has hit the board in three of his last four outings overall. (5) HE'S HALF NAKED won two starts back at this level and I can excuse his fifth-place result a week ago as he had post seven and wound up having to come first-over. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10 - F&M Invitational Trot (2) PERFECT VIXEN showed trot again in the lane after angling out last week. She moves inside on the gate and avoids Tipsy Moni, who has been almost impossible to beat in this class through the year. (6) DIAMANTE TRIO IT held off my top pick to finish second in the F&M Invitational a week ago and owns a win at this level on June 27. (5) P L NOTSONICE was scratched sick last Thursday but is having a strong season and gets Scott Zeron back in the bike. Race 11 - 40000CLM Trot (5) PC FREE WHEELING drops from the optional $60,000 claiming level to face $40,000 claiming company here, and hopefully that'll result in a return to the winner's circle. (4) AIRMANS JACKPOT moves in on the gate after having post seven on July 4. She went a long way on the lead before ending up third in that contest and shows two victories in this class back in May. (1) INFINITY STONE was second to a well-meant winner last Thursday. He drew inside again here and was Jason Bartlett's choice. Race 12 - 3-5YO 30000CLM Pace (1) GENTLE GIANT tallied impressively two back at Yonkers and faces age-restricted $30,000 claimers tonight after racing against open $40,000 claimers in his last try. He also gets some post relief. (6) SURFRIDER is two-for-two since coming into Travis Alexander's barn and gets a chance with Gingras at the controls this time. (4) CAPTAIN T HANOVER has been victorious twice in this class in his lines, including in his last outing on July 8.
