Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 118 - 458 / $735.20 (-$180.80)
BEST BETS: 29 - 46 / $97.90 (+$5.90)
SPOT PLAYS: 4 - 45 / $38.80 (-$51.20)
BEST BET -
IMPRINCESSGEMMA A (11th)
SPOT PLAY - DIMANTE VIC (7th)

Race 1 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace

(4) AMERICAN TOUR N landed an good draw tonight after a couple of outside posts in her last two outings. She also adds Jordan Stratton and drops to the bottom level. (6) WAKEMESHAKEME was with trainer Ron Burke earlier this year, then made a few starts for Kevin McDermott up at Saratoga and is now with Burke again. She probably finds the easiest spot she's been in for a bit, and the return to Burke could easily result in improvement. (5) FLOSSIE N takes a second crack at NW5000L5 foes tonight and was a good second to the well-meant Millwood Bonnie N a couple weeks ago.

Race 2 - NW2/25000LT/Maidens or NW12500LT Drawn Inside Trot

(7) JULA SILVER STATE hit the board in his last two attempts against New York Excelsior "A" Series foes, and trainer Per Engblom has been sending out a lot of live horses everywhere, including here at Yonkers. (3) MR ZUANETTI won two straight races on the half-mile track at Flamboro Downs back in April and exits the Pennsylvania Stallion Series here. (1) PRAY AND HUSTLE finished fourth from post seven a week ago and slides inside to the pole position tonight.

Race 3 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in the Last Start of Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Pace

(2) YS TALLIA closed well and finished a solid second to a well-backed Intheskyrocket A a week ago. She makes her third start back after a bit of a freshening tonight and kept George Brennan. (4) SOUND IDEA slides down from the NW10000L5 class and has significant post relief to go with it. (1) ANDRA DAY hasn't done much since the barn change last month but does start from the pole after having posts eight and seven in her last couple of outings.

Race 4 - F&M NW10215L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Pace

(6) ASHTINI prevailed the last time she raced in this class on 5-5 and returns to it tonight after finishing third in her last two attempts against NW15000L5's. (3) GINGER TREE LIZ also slides down from the NW15000L5 level and gets another chance with Jason Bartlett. (4) CORAL BELLA missed by just a head when she was last in against NW10000L5 foes on May 5 and moves inside on the gate.

Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Trot

(1) FLANAGAN DESTINY scored her last win on the half-mile track at Flamboro in late March and was knocking on the door against NW4's at Pocono before having to settle for fifth after she had post eight last time out. She drew the pole here and picks up Stratton. (3) CHAPHEART couldn't deliver as the favorite last time out, but the horse that took that event is in the Yonkers Trot elims on Friday, and the second-place finisher won last week, so it was probably a tough race. (4) VELVET STYLE nabbed a third-place check in the sire stakes at Vernon most recently and gets to keep Yannick Gingras as he's in to drive tonight.

Race 6 - F&M NW30000L5/4&5YO F&M NW12 PM Races LT/75000CLM Pace

(6) DRAMA ACT surprisingly has not won since taking the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series final on April 25. She does get a chance to exit the Open tonight, so I will use in the hopes she can take advantage of facing NW30000L5's. (4) EASY TO PLEASE tallied in impressive fashion at this level a week ago and gets another chance at it tonight since she has 11 career victories. I think she'll be favored over my top pick. (3) BEYOND WORDS N raced well and was third in the contest that was won by Easy To Please last Thursday.

Race 7 - NW2/25000LT/Maidens or NW12500LT Drawn Inside Trot

(3) DIMANTE VIC faces NW2's and maiden's here rather than the NW4's he did last Thursday, and he also gets an opportunity with Gingras. I will give him a chance. (8) FLIP THE SWITCH came back with trotting hobbles on this year, and he has definitely lived up to his name with facile wins at Northfield and Pocono. Trainer Gareth Dowse is going to drive this 4-year-old himself, but he was the winning pilot last time out, too. (1) CREDARENA went a long way on the lead a week ago before getting caught and moves inside to the pole position tonight.

Race 8 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM/4&5YO F&M NW10 PM Races LT Pace

(5) STAR CAPTAIN found the NW30000L5 class to be very tough, but she might have shown some hint of a return to form last week by finishing her mile in 27 and change. She slides down a notch tonight and I'll put her on top. (2) VIOLETS RAINBOW downed NW30000L5's two back and now gets to drop since she has $19,800 earned in her last five starts. She also picks up Gingras. (3) GAME OF SHADOWS led the way and came up just a neck short of winning over a NW20000L5 field last Thursday.

Race 9 - F&M Open Handicap Trot

(2) NO MAS DRAMA came in second the last time she raced in the F&M Open Trot at Yonkers and has been very solid against tough foes at other venues since then. She has been much more reliable finishing in the runner-up position this year, but I'll hope she can land the victory tonight. (3) THANKFUL NO grabbed a third-place finish in the Open Trot last Friday and gets to face mares here rather than open company. (6) KENZIESKY HANOVER won a couple times at this level back in April, and her versatile racing style gives Bartlett options on how to handle her.

Race 10 - F&M Open Handicap Pace

(3) DRAGON ROLL ended up with an impossible trip last Thursday and didn't factor in the outcome. That might inflate her price a little bit tonight, and she's always capable of winning an Open. (6) MAJORCA N won two back on the front-end and then raced from off-the-pace a week ago and had to settle for fifth. Maybe they'll go back to the aggressive approach tonight. (7) RACINE BELL can certainly win but she hasn't competed since May 29 and will offer zero value.

Race 11 - F&M NW15000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/25000CLM/4&5YO NW9 PM Races LT Pace

(5) IMPRINCESSGEMMA A delivered in pretty handy fashion against NW10000L5's last Thursday and now switches barn to Dowse and drivers to Bartlett. (2) TOBAGO TIME has hit the board in this class twice on her page and returns to Yonkers after racing in the F&M Open Handicap down at Harrington last time. (1) WESTBEACH gained a bit of ground in the last quarter at this level a week ago and drew the pole here.
