MEET STATS: 72 - 277 / $440.10 (-$113.90) BEST BETS: 13 - 28 / $47.20 (-$8.80) SPOT PLAYS: 3 - 28 / $18.20 (-$37.80) BEST BET-SANDY'S BEACH (5th) SPOT PLAY-PAMMY JO (9th) Race 1 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (2) TELL ME A JOKE has improved her finishing position in each of her last four attempts, and hopefully that means her first win of 2021 is coming tonight. She remains drawn inside and might be able turn that into a good trip. (1) SHELLIE DE VIE really had every chance to win that race a week ago when she led the way but couldn't see it out in the lane. I'll take a shot against on top but will have her underneath. (6) CHASE YOU was favored in the same event Shellie De Vie was in last Thursday but wound up fifth from a pocket trip. She's going to partner with James MacDonald tonight, and he's had some success at other tracks with Carmen Auciello trainees since coming down from Canada. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - NW2/27000LT / NW4 Drawn Outside Trot (3) TRANQUILITY K showed some ability in the New York Sire Stakes program as a 2-year-old, picking up checks in three of her four starts, and she makes her sophomore debut tonight. She has just one qualifier, but perhaps it's a sign of positive intent that trainer Aaron Lambert listed Todd McCarthy and then got Dexter Dunn. (4) DESTINY BLUE CHIP wound up having to do the first-over work against a well-meant Bluffinner on 4-22 and gave way in the final quarter. Her effort prior to that with a better trip was strong. I'll include. (8) DESWANSLITTLELORIE didn't have much success in the John Brennan Trotting Series, but this is a more reasonable spot tonight, and she's shown enough speed to get positioned from the outside post. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (6) AMERICAN TOUR N finished second in this class a couple times on the page and has an aggressive driver in Doug McNair who might try and wire this bunch. (3) LADYBELUCKYTONITE has just one off-the-board finish in her last four tries and races for the potent duo of Dan Dube and Gil Garcia-Herrera. She also has some post relief tonight to boot. (2) CLASSY CHAPEL N retreated in the back-half of the mile on 4-22 but was claimed by the high-percentage Nick Devita barn and gets reunited with leading driver Jordan Stratton. Race 4 - NW6/75000LT / NW8/100000LT Drawn Outside Trot (3) HEAT WAVE HANOVER didn't have much a chance from post eight at Harrah's Philadelphia in her most recent try, but I think she gets back into contention with this much-improved draw, and everything Jenn and Joe Bongiorno are sending out right now merits consideration. (4) CHAPTIAMA has raced at and won at Yonkers before in the New York Sire Stakes program. He was a good second in a high-level race at Harrah's Philadelphia on 4-22 and makes his second start on Lasix tonight. (5) BEERTHIRTY K keeps putting in solid performances and won handily over NW15000L5 foes last time out. He should be a good fit in this spot. Race 5 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Pace (4) SANDY'S BEACH gets both post and class relief tonight, and Jordan Stratton and Peter Tritton teamed up for several wins together on Monday night's (May 3) card here at Yonkers. (2) CINDERELLA DELIGHT won at this level a week ago and showed a new dimension by scoring from slightly off-the-pace. That gives Dube some options with her if she's unable to get to the front. (5) DIBABA N was second against NW7500L5's back on April 8 and has a good history at Yonkers since she shipped over from New Zealand. Race 6 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Pace (4) COVEREDNDIAMONDS N stepped up to the NW10000L5's and didn't have any success after ending up first-over. She quickly retreats back to the level of her win two back and remains partnered with McCarthy. (1) ANNABETH usually fires in spots like this as she drops and moves inside. Add in that she was Stratton's choice over others, and I could see her getting bet quite hard. (2) READY SET ROCK is in for the optional claiming tag tonight, allowing her to shift over from the NW6 class. She's another Devita trainee that I think has a shot on the card. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 7 - F&M Open Handicap Pace (3) BRONSKIMACKENZIE A is able to get away from the red-hot Racine Bell tonight as she didn't enter. This mare has been second and third to Racine Bell in her last pair and has closed well both times. She gets to move inside to post three tonight, and that might allow McCarthy to keep her closer to the action. (5) SNOBBYTOWN made front from post seven but couldn't stave off Racine Bell a week ago. She starts from an ideal draw here and is probably the one to catch. (4) SURREAL FEELING invades with four straight victories, including two straight in the Open at Saratoga. She has a pretty good history at Yonkers, too, having won six times here in her career. Race 8 - F&M NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Pace (6) MISS IRISH ROSE A posted a second-place finish to Surreal Feeling in the Open at Saratoga last time out, and I don't mind that she wound up with George Brennan driving as she ships south. (4) PAPPY ROCKS was claimed by Garcia-Herrera last week. She does step up in class, but draws a significantly better post than she had seven nights ago, and I think could be set to show more early speed with Dube taking over at the lines. (1) I'M VERY SPECIAL picked up her last win at this level on 3-25. She returns to it here after facing better since then and gets reunited with Jason Bartlett. Race 9 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM Pace (3) PAMMY JO joins several other mares coming down from Saratoga on tonight's card. She's now with trainer Scott Di Domenico, and though rejected by Brennan, she wound up with Joe Bongiorno, who seems to have a knack for taking advantage of opportunities to drive for a big barn like this. (4) JOSSIE JAMES A appeared to like racing from off-the-pace a week ago as she charged home in 27 1/5. She was driven by Austin Siegelman then, and he has the call again tonight. (2) FEELIN RED HOT hasn't been as consistent this year as she used to be, but she looked really good in winning last Thursday and is always dangerous if she gets left alone on the lead. Race 10 - F&M NW15000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/25000CLM/NW9 Pace (7) SHECANDANCE N didn't have much luck at the draw, but she was quite good in her first start of 2021 a week ago, and I'll bank on improvement with that start under her belt off-setting the tough post. (3) PAIGE'S GIRL was fourth in that race won by Feelin Red Hot last week and gets another chance in the same class tonight. (2) IRON MISTRESS had to settle for second last Thursday, but that was to a quality opponent in Ponder The Odds, so I'm not going to write off her chances. McCarthy takes the call with Dube opting to a Garcia-Herrera trainee in this contest.
