Trainer-driver Trond Smedshammer has been having an excellent season at Yonkers. (4) OCEANVIEW PRINCE was third in his first appearance at Yonkers last Thursday with the trainer driving and now adds George Brennan. (3) SQUABLE slides down from the NW4 class off back-to-back third-place finishes. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - F&M NW20450L5/30000CLM/4&5YO NW10 PM Races LT Pace (1) STAR CAPTAIN missed out on racing a week ago when she came up ill, but since she's right back in the box, I'll trust everything is a-okay and use her. She's won three straight. (5) SURREAL FEELING finished second to Star Captain when they met up on April 21. This 7-year-old mare was Jason Bartlett's choice of a couple. (2) TEMPUS SEELSTER switches barns back to Erv Miller here. She had some good results locally back in December of 2021, and I'll hope she can turn things around tonight. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - F&M NW10080L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Pace (3) ASHTINI makes her third start back after a layoff tonight and moves inside on the gate. I'll give her a try and hope she has some value against this beatable group. (1) FILLY SPEAKS won in the corresponding class to this one at Pocono on March 20. Trainer Scott Betts hasn't sent out any starters at Yonkers this year but does have good success at other venues. (7) MAGICAL MISTRESS drops a notch here and has the potent George Brennan/Ron Burke tandem to help her cause. Race 4 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Pace (2) MAJOR BATTLE hasn't been this low on the class ladder in a long time, and I'm sure the connections are keen to take advantage and get her back on the right track. (5) SHELLIE DE VIE just missed by a nose in a NW10000L5 race last Thursday and gets to drop tonight. (4) LOOKATMYART moves up from the NW5000L5's but overcame post eight to finish second a week ago, and trainer Noel Daley is having a strong year locally. Race 5 - NW6/75000LT / NW4/50000LT Draw Inside Trot (1) PIONEER AS made up a bunch of ground in a strong final quarter in her qualiifer on April 26 at Harrah's Philadelphia, and that second-place finish in a Grand Circuit event at The Red Mile in October of last year caught my eye as well. (6) SEVENSHADESOFGREY got on a nice roll back in March but has broken stride in two of his last three outings. The one time he didn't, he was a solid second, so he's a contender if he minds his manners. (5) CREDIT CON hit the boad in a couple of legs of the John Brennan Trotting Series and was fourth in the consolation. I'll toss him in underneath. Race 6 - F&M NW30000L5/4-6YO F&M NW13 PM Races LT/F&M NW20000L5 Draw Inside Pace (6) DRAGON ROLL won in the opening leg of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series, but her best result after that was a third. I think this is a spot where she could get things turned around, and she was Tyler Buter's choice. () TECHYS ANGEL A won twice locally in March and then went up to Plainridge and remained undefeated in the U.S. (2) MAN DONTFORGET ME also exits the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series, and she was in tight quarters while trying to get out of the pocket in the consolation of that event. Race 7 - 25000CLM Pace (4) MY MIND IS MADEUP wound up with a series of bad posts when he faced $40,000 claimers here in March and April. Tonight he faces $25,000 claiming company, drew better, and gets a new driver in Braxten Boyd. (7) IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N tallied in his debut for trainer Gareth Dowse last Thursday and is certainly a threat to repeat. (5) FOX VALLEY INFERNO was in against $30,000 claimers when last at Yonkers on April 14, and he races for high-percentage connections. Race 8 - F&M Open Handicap Trot (4) D P ROCKET gets a good test for her form and class here, but I think she's capable of handling it. She's been first or second in her last six outings. (5) KENZIESKY HANOVER is always going to be a threat at this level given the speed she has. she won handily on the front-end a week ago. (7) HEY LIVVY miscued last Thursday, but when she did that on 4-7, she came back to win the next two times. Race 9 - F&M NW15000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/20000CLM/4&5YO NW9 PM Races LT Pace (3) CLASSICIST grabbed a win and a couple of thirds at this level last fall at Yonkers and qualified pretty well behind reigning Horse of the Year Test Of Faith on Saturday morning at the Meadowlands. (1) GINGER TREE LIZ is in razor-sharp form and moves in on the gate from post six to the pole position here. (5) WESTBEACH drops out of the NW20000L5 base class and was third the last time she met up with NW15000L5's. Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 10 - F&M NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Pace (3) TEAM KIWI N takes a pretty substanial drop out of the $50,000 claiming class, and I'll put her on top. (2) CORAL BELLA defeated NW7500L5's a couple weeks ago, and while she does move up a level here, she moves inside on the gate and was second against NW10000L5's on March 31. (4) CASH ROLL also tallied against NW7500L5's last Thursday and just missed hitting the board the last time she raced in this class on 3-31. Race 11 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (6) SNIPER HANOVER just missed here two back after taking the lead from first-over and returns to Yonkers and the bottom level tonight after racing at the Meadowlands on April 22. (5) MILADY DENVER A made up a bunch of ground and spots in the back-half of her mile last Thursday and hit the board a couple of times in this class in March. (4) BALFAST N takes a second shot against NW5000L5's tonight and gets out of the eight-hole.
