MEET STATS: 35 - 136 / $252.90 (-$19.10) BEST BETS: 4 - 14 / $12.30 (-$15.70) SPOT PLAYS: 3 - 14 / $28.70 (+$0.70) BEST BET - REACHTHRUTHESKY AS (11th) SPOT PLAY - VEL DONNA (9th) Race 1 - F&M NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Pace (6) THE PANTHEIST A moves outside on the gate tonight but finished third to two pretty tough foes in this class a week ago, and I think she meets up with a softer group here. (3) PROTECT BLUE CHIP moves up the class ladder again but has hit the board in five straight outings and keeps showing the ability to gain in the final quarter. (1) WESTBEACH shifts inside on the gate in her third start back after a layoff, and I could see her being much closer to the pace. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - NW30000L5/NW12 PM Races LT/75000CLM/NW20000L5 Drawn Inside Trot (6) TIMESTORM takes a second shot at this level tonight after sitting off-the-pace and finishing third a week ago. He had been off since 2-16 prior to that appearance, so I'm going to bet that he's sharper this time around. (1) INFINITY STONE picked up a check in the Open last Thursday and gets to slide down a notch in his second try for trainer Ricky Bucci. (2) KENZIESKY HANOVER made a miscue last week and lost all chance but gets reunited with Jason Bartlett here, and I think she'll rebound. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - NAADA Amateur Spring Series Leg 2 Trot (6) RACEACE returns to the amateur races after competing at Monticello through 2023. He had little chance from post eight in their Open most recently but did trot a solid final quarter and had plenty of success at Yonkers in 2022. (1) WINNERESS comes in off a victory in an amateur event down at Freehold and has the pole position. (4) DARK POOL finished a gaining third at Freehold most recently and has been racing well outside of the one start where he was interfered with and broke on February 4. Race 4 - Open Handicap Trot (2) STORMY KROMER appeared ready to fire in his qualifier at the Meadowlands on February 25 and had good fortune in the draw tonight. (7) NOWS THE MOMENT has won three straight editions of the Open Handicap Trot and his strong early speed helps him get away on or near the lead, even from an outside post like he has tonight. (5) HEY LIVVY was second to NOWS THE MOMENT in the Open Handicap Trot last Thursday and has been outside the top three just once this year. Race 5 - F&M NW5979L5/12500CLM Pace (1) DBLDELITEBRIGADE N meets up with bottom-level foes here in her third attempt of 2023, and I expect that she'll fire and get the job done. (4) BOTTOMOFTHENINTH gained spots in the final quarter to finish second to the well-meant Trizzle Trazzle last Thursday and will be piloted by Joe Bongiorno this time around. (3) POPPY DRAYTON N tallied in this class back on December 8 of last year and gets another shot at it here after finishing fourth as the favorite most recently. Race 6 - NW15000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/NW9 PM Races LT Trot (4) ON HIGHER GROUND has been very sharp since returning to action this year and gets an inside post this week after posting back-to-back wins from the eight-hole and post seven. (5) PROMISE FOR LIFE hasn't been able to find the winner's circle yet for trainer Jared Bako but has been able to hit the board four out of six times, and I will include. (2) HAT TRICK MARLEAU double-jumps up from the NW7500L5's, but he's shown the ability to race well at this level before and seems to have regained his form. Race 7 - NW20000L5/NW10 PM Races LT Trot (2) SWEET SOUL DAVID gets the post/class relief combo tonight as he drops out of the NW30000L5's and moves in from the five-hole to post two. (4) OUTSIDE THE FIRE dominated NW15000L5's a couple weeks ago, winning by open lengths. He's been very sharp for quite a while and is probably the one to beat again. (6) BARRY BLACK was third at this level three back and has a win and a second against NW10000L5's and NW150000L5's since then. Race 8 - NW4/50000LT/NW2/25000LT Drawn Inside Trot (4) CAPRICIOUS ONE flashed some talent in an abbreviated 3-year-old campaign and won two of his three qualifiers at Pocono in preparation for this tilt (he was bothered and knocked off-stride on 2-22). I'll put him on top. (6) SAID N DONE AS keeps hitting the board without winning. He's been second in all five of his tries thus far in 2023, and that's where I'll slot him again. (5) STRIKING COUNT faded on 2-23 after having to do the first-over work but makes his second start for trainer Cory Stratton tonight, and I could see him being sharper. Race 9 - F&M NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (2) VEL DONNA slides in from post seven to the two-hole this week, and I think that puts her back in the game against bottom level mares, especially if she comes with an effort like she had here on December 15 of last year when she was a close third versus NW7500L5's. (5) NITE TIME DEAL makes her third start of 2023 tonight and comes in off a fourth-place finish last Thursday. She also gets a driver switch to Bartlett. (3) LOOKATMYART was facing $50,000 claimers at Yonkers late in 2022 and was plagued by outside draws in both of her efforts at the Meadowlands last month. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10 - NW8/100000LT/NW6/75000LT Drawn Inside Trot (7) TACHYON appeared to be ready to strike from the pocket last Thursday but then made a break and lost all chance. I'm still a big believer in this horse, and perhaps the miscue will only inflate his price tonight. (6) SWAN FLYER led and took advantage of TACHYON's break to score an easy win in his local debut a week ago. Co-owner Yannick Gingras is back in the bike. (5) PRIMADONNA DEO invades from the Meadowlands with a pair of runner-up results thus far in 2023. She showed some ability on the half-mile oval as a 3-year-old in 2022, winning a pair of stakes events down at Freehold. Race 11 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace (6) REACHTHRUTHESKY AS receives some additional class relief here in her fourth start of the season, and I think she can get her first win of her 5-year-old campaign. (2) KATYS DELIGHT should appreciate getting to exit the $50,000 claiming level for this one and also gets a much better post to go with it. (3) TRIZZLE TRAZZLE dominated bottom level rivals a week ago and was second against NW7500L5's at Yonkers back on February 2.
