Race 1 - F&M NW15000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/25000CLM/NW9 Pace

(3) CASH ROLL received a tour of the oval from an outside post a week ago in her first appearance of 2022. That should have her tightened up tonight as she drops, moves inside on the gate, and was Tyler Buter's choice. (5) MAGICAL MISTRESS has been knocking on the door in this class with a second and a third in her last pair, and she has the potent George Brennan/Ron Burke driver/trainer combo in her corner. (8) LUCKY ARTIST A must have been sick back on 2-24 as she had no pace from second-over. She was third in the Open on 2-3 and second against NW30000L5's after that, so she's got the credentials and will probably offer some value off the bad line and the outside draw.

Race 2 - F&M NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Pace

(8) CAMPUS QUEEN had bad fortune at the draw again this time, but she did pick up spots and gain ground in the final quarter last week, and I'll bank on her being live from the eight-hole. (1) TEAM KIWI N lands in a softer spot here than the $50,000 claimers she's faced thus far in 2022, and she also starts from the pole position. (6) IRON MISTRESS continues to work her way down the class ladder in this spot and did finish fourth in a NW16450L5 race on February 24.

Race 3 - F&M NW5080L5/12500CLM Pace

(4) WESTMONT Z TAM qualified well enough at The Meadows on March 1 and has now come to Yonkers. Plenty of horses coming from that venue to this one for these connections have fired at first-asking, and hopefully she joins that list. (6) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX double-drops from the NW10000L5's to the bottom level as she fit this race by $5 with her earnings in her last five starts. Her connections might be keen to take advantage of that. (1) JOSSIE JAMES A sharpened up her speed with a go-to-the-lead-and-fade effort last Wednesday. Trainer Gil Garcia-Herrera isn't off to a hot start so far in 2022, but I expect his charges will turn it around at any time.

Race 4 - F&M NW15450L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/25000CLM/NW9 Pace

(3) VIOLETS RAINBOW performed extremely well again last week in finishing a rallying second, everything trainer Jared Bako is sending out right now seems to be racing strongly, and she lured Matt Kakaley off the #1 horse in this race, who is sent out by connections he very, very rarely ever goes against. (5) DEMETER N has had no shot to show what she's capable of in her last couple of appearances as she been stuck in post eight. Tonight she drew better and drops a notch on the class ladder. (7) EASY TO PLEASE held off my top pick a week ago to score in her second start of 2022. I think they might race her from off-the-pace this time, and while I certainly respect her and her chances, I'll attempt to beat her.

Race 5 - F&M NW21400L5/30000CLM/NW10 Pace

(1) SURREAL FEELING checked in fourth last week in her first try of 2022. She will likely improve with that start under her belt, and she's won at the Open level at Yonkers before, so racing in this class should suit her just fine. (2) SPORTS FLIX was third in the same race my top pick exits a week ago and has improved from fifth to fourth to third so far in her three appearances this year. (8) MORNING HAS BROKEN toppled $50,000 claimers on March 1, and though she starts from the eight-hole, trainer Noel Daley is sending out plenty of live horses at the track right now, and she was able to finish third from the seven-hole on February 22.

Race 6 - NW4/50000LT / NW2/25000LT Drawn Inside Trot

(7) CREATIVE VENTURE starts tonight for the first time since early October of 2021. He was in against some pacers in that qualifier, so don't hold it against him too much, and did he beat NW4's at Yonkers on September 30. I will take a swing that they have him ready to go and use. (5) JOE EXOTIC owns a poor win record (just two-for-50), but one of the two was on 2-10. (6) INFINITE ZETTE was a solid second to the red-hot P L Oscar on the 24th of February. He's another one who is win shy (three-for-31) but does have 11 runner-up finishes and five additional third-places.

Race 7 - F&M NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Pace

(3) ANNE BONNEY N posted a third-place finish when she dropped down to the NW10000L5 class a week ago and slides down an additional notch tonight. (1) SHADY MADAM broke stride last Wednesday on the far turn while sitting second-over. She makes her second start out of the high-percentage Jeff Gillis barn tonight and kept Jason Bartlett over three others, a key vote of confidence. (7) PRAY THE ROSARY is another mare in here sliding down after coming in third against NW10000L5's last time out.

Race 8 - NW6/75000LT Trot

(3) DROP THE MIC took the lead in the third quarter last week but looked like he came up a little short in the lane and got picked off late. I believe he'll be better tonight since that was his first appearance since 12-9, and the hike up from NW4 to NW6 might help his value. (1) CREDIT CON finally starts from an inside draw after having two seven-holes and a pair of post eights in his last four chances. They did send him out of there a week ago, so he could be "sneaky sharp." (5) MUSCLE JACK was slammed down to 1-5 last Thursday but let all his backers down when he broke stride behind the gate. Given he downed NW8's on February 17, he's likely the one to beat if he minds his P's and Q's.

Race 9 - F&M NW31700L5 Pace

(6) SIESTA BEACH is back in action tonight after being off since October 28 of 2021. She had a fantastic 5-year-old campaign, won multiple editions of the Open, doesn't have to face Open foes here, and qualified well both here at Yonkers and over at Pocono. (4) IMPRINCESSGEMMA A has raced too well to lose since coming up from Rosecroft and Dover but unfortunately has had to settle for second each time, and that's where I'm going to slot her again. (3) JODY can win this at her best, but she's made a couple of breaks lately and was overtaken after setting a slow pace in the Open on 2-10.

Race 10 - F&M Open Pace

(5) BLUE IVY returns to Yonkers here. She won three legs and was second in the final of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series a year ago and is back to get ready for that upcoming event. She tallied impressively in back-to-back editions of the Open at The Meadows prior to this and doesn't face the deepest of groups in this event. (4) BEST HEAD WEST looks like the biggest threat to my top pick as she closed well to finish third in the Open a week ago, proving her form in lower classes was no accident. (1) LIT DE ROSE has tallied in the Open a couple of times so far in 2022 and does have the pole position to help her out.

Race 11 - F&M NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Pace

(6) THE FUN MARSHALL plummets in class out of the NW20000L5's and finished off her mile last Thursday in 27 1/5. (3) DELISHKA N tallied from first-up last Wednesday in her first try for this trainer. She does hike up a notch but has a post edge on my top selection. (5) TOBAGO TIME hit the board in both of her chances at this level in February.
