MEET STATS: 237 - 922 / $1,563.80 (-$280.20) BEST BETS: 38 - 89 / $170.20 (-$7.80) SPOT PLAYS: 16 - 90 / $203.70 (+$23.70) BEST BET-JUSTICE (11th) SPOT PLAY-JACKED (6th) This is the final program at Yonkers this year. Thank you for following along with the analysis throughout the meet - Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Race 1 - 50000CLM Trot (7) EPOS OSTERVANG DK turned in another very good effort to finish second last week. He moves back outside on the gate, but that hasn't been an issue for him. (8) STEUBEN HANOVER starts from the outside but has been in the top three in his last four outings, and included in those results are a pair of wins. (6) ABRUZZO broke the last time he was in this class on 10-26, but he was also a big favorite in that race. He's got three wins in five appearances since that miscue. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - 3-5YO 30000CLM Pace (4) HURRIKANE GEORGIE gets some post relief tonight and hopefully will go back to the on or near the lead style that won him three races in-a-row in November, especially since he will lose his ability to compete in this age-restricted event when the 2024 meet begins at Yonkers. (1) FULL SUPPORT was defeated on 12-4 but rebounded with a victory on December 11. He moves inside on the gate to the pole position here. ((3) BRUSHING UP has been on the board in four of his last five outings and, like my top two picks, had better luck at the draw than he did most recently. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - 50000CLM Trot (1) FOR A DREAMER gained spots and ground in the final quarter from off-the-pace last week and now has the pole tonight. He also gets a driver switch to the red-hot Jason Bartlett. (7) P L OSCAR turned a pocket trip into a win in this class a week ago and has been sharp overall in recent appearances. (3) IN MY DREAMS raced poorly on 11-30 but rebounded with a second-place finish last Thursday. He has a new pilot with Joe Bongiorno taking over. Race 4 - Open Trot (5) NOWS THE MOMENT has had to settle for third- and fourth-place results in his last two tries at the top level, but we've seen him strike in the Open before, and I'll go with him. (4) WARRIOR ONE just missed in the Open Handicap last week. He gets reunited with George Brennan here as owner Yannick Gingras is not competing on the card. (3) CREDIT CON rallied on the pylons and got by WARRIOR ONE at the wire to tally last Thursday. I imagine he'll be looking for a similar trip tonight. Race 5 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (3) MY ULTIMATE STAR A drops to the bottom level and gets reunited with Bartlett here. Bartlett and trainer Lance Hudson joined forces for a pair of victories on Monday (December 18) at Yonkers. (7) MACHIATTO A drew poorly again but makes his second start for trainer Nifty Norman and finds the NW5000L5 class. He closed out his mile in 27 and change on 12-13, which I like to see. (6) NOWHERE CREEK A has picked up a couple of checks at this level since returning to action, and I think he faces a softer group than he has been. Race 6 - 50000CLM Trot (5) JACKED prevailed at this level back on 11-16 and has trip and bad post excuses since (plus a sick scratch). I think he'll offer value, and I'll swing. (1) HAT TRICK MARLEAU has two wins and a second at this level in his last three trips behind the gate and gets to team up with Bartlett again. (1) HAVEHORSWILTRVEL N checked in third in the event won by HAT TRICK MARLEAU last Thursday and drew the pole to aid his cause tonight. Race 7 - 3-5YO 30000CLM Pace (3) SPRINGBRIDGE DUEL tried to leave last Thursday but ended up getting parked out and tiring. I'll take those aggressive tactics as being a positive sign despite the poor result and put him on top. (2) ELM GROVE QWIGGLY has been third and fourth in two tries in this class. He has Bartlett in the bike here for leading trainer Per Engblom. (6) WORLD FOR TWO broke before the start a week ago but had been very sharp before that, and I could see a quick bounce-back. Race 8 - F&M Open Trot (6) WHAT SHOULD I GOO closed out her mile with plenty of trot a week ago and only needs to be closer to the front tonight if she's that good again. (7) HELPOFTHESEASON got to the front and cruised to a victory in her debut for the Bartlett/Engblom duo a week ago. I'll try and beat her, but she obviously deserves respect. (5) LADY JETER has hit the board in her last two attempts in this class and usually provides value underneath. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9 - NW30000L5/NW 12 PM Races LT/75000CLM/NW20000L5 Drawn Inside Trot (4) OUTSIDE THE FIRE showed a good closing kick on both 11-30 and 12-7 and gets post relief off those miles here. Matt Kakaley has had success with this horse before and hops into the bike tonight. (5) THE HAZELTON finished in the top three in a trio of efforts in the Open Handicap out at The Meadows. He's a recent addition to the Burke Brigade and makes his Yonkers debut. (7) PAPPARDELLE starts from the outside post but drops out of the Open at Yonkers and Harrah's Philadelphia and has been razor-sharp lately. Race 10 - NW8321L5/Winners in the Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace (2) REAL WILLEY squeezed into this race by a dollar as he has $8,320 earned in his last five starts and is a first-timer out of the Jenn Bongiorno stable. He came up just a neck short of winning against NW10000L5 company most recently. (6) CHURCHVIEWFRANKL IR was making a move into contention on the final bend last Thursday when he broke. He shows no other miscues, so I'll chalk that up as a one-off and include. (4) MR PERFECT N was second in a NW5000L5 tilt on December 7. He also hit the board in higher classes at Yonkers earlier this year and gets a driver switch to Brent Holland. Race 11 - NW23505L5/NW10 PM Races LT Trot (8) JUSTICE drew the worst post but double-drops in class out of the Open Handicap, and I will look for that to be a bigger factor than the eight-hole. (4) UNEVERGONNAGETHIS has been outside the top three just twice in 26 outings in 2023. Kakaley takes over the driving with Jordan Stratton not here tonight. (3) KILIMANJARO NL is on a two-race win streak for Bartlett and Engblom and is likely capable of scoring again. Race 12 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Pace (5) PACE N PRIDE N exits a third-place finish against NW7500L5 foes on 12-13. He's at the bottom level tonight and was Brennan's choice. (2) MOONLITE DRIVE N takes a third crack at this class after gaining a couple spots to finish fourth on December 11. He moves inside on the gate off that performance here. (1) MEMPHISTENNESSEE N comes in with on-the-board finishes in his last two starts and drew the pole position again.
