Greg Reinhart|Nov 16, 2021
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 259 - 885 / $1,433.50 (-$336.50)

BEST BETS: 43 - 81 / $139.00 (-$23.00)

SPOT PLAYS: 9 - 81 / $62.30 (-$99.70)

BEST BET-SCUOLA HANOVER (8th)

SPOT PLAY-LIT DE ROSE (10th)

Race 1 - NW2/25000LT Trot

(3) MNEMONIC raced pretty well last Thursday to finish second, and she might be sharper tonight as she was coming off a sick scratch on 11-3 heading into that event. (7) JESSIES OUTLAWED has finished in the top three in all of his starts since invading from Indiana and just needs a bit of pace to set up his closing kick. (2) SV ROYAL FLUSH finally won in career start #21 a week ago. Let's see if the light bulb stays on now that he's experienced what getting a victory is like.

Race 2 - F&M NW15000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/25000CLM/NW9 PM Races LT Pace

(4) ELLAGATOR never got involved from an outside post on 11-4, but she did kick home well. She gets post relief here and is reunited with Jason Bartlett. (3) I'M VERY SPECIAL closed in 27 3/5 to finish third a week ago and has hit the board in her last two chances at this level. (2) PONDER THE ODDS makes her third start back after a layoff tonight, and I just know one of these nights she's going to fire.

[DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!]

Race 3 - NW4/50000LT Trot

(3) DROP THE MIC landed an inside post here after having mid-pack or outside draws in all of his tries since shipping over from Monticello. He's very sharp, and I will use. (5) PREACHER MAN races in a much more realistic spot tonight than the $50,000 claimers he faced in his last two appearances. He was second against NW4's both here and at Pocono in October. (8) OPERATION SHIPLEY faces NW4's for the first time but hasn't done anything wrong since coming in from Iowa, and she's shown the ability to both leave and rally.

Race 4 - F&M NW15000L5/Winner in Last Start of the Base Class NW10000L5/25000CLM/NW9 PM Races LT Pace

(3) SPORTS FLIX comes in off a trip excuse on 10-28 and a post excuse on 11-4. She drops and drew well tonight, and she also has a new driver in Jim Marohn Jr. (5) ANDRA DAY has a pair of thirds since shipping from Woodbine Mohawk Park, and she gets to slide down a notch on the class ladder. (7) CLASSICIST won at this level on 10-28 and then was third the following week. She's shown plenty of early speed, so I don't think the outside post is a big issue.

Race 5 - NW6/75000LT Trot

(2) GOO DOO DOLL was supposed to face NW6's at Yonkers on 10-14 but wound up being a sick scratch. She's back for another attempt tonight, and given her recent stakes success in Pennsylvania and how she performed in her last start down at Harrah's Philadelphia, I'll put her on top. She's also two-for-two on the half-mile oval at Ocean Downs. (6) CHURCH SOUT steps up from the NW4's but does so having won two straight and three of his last four. (5) WET MY WHISTLE scored as a heavy favorite at this level when last seen on 10-28 and certainly merits respect.

Race 6 - F&M NW10550L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5/20000CLM Pace

(2) ANGEL'S PRIDE handled NW7500L5's in easy fashion last Thursday, and I think she meets up with a crew here that she can double up against. (1) EYE POPPING drops a notch from the NW15000L5's and went a long way on the lead in finishing third in her last try in this class on 10-7. (7) WESTBEACH is a newcomer from Canada into Lance Hudson's barn. That third-place finish on September 24 in a high-level race at Woodbine Mohawk Park sticks out here, as do her back-to-back wins on the Flamboro Downs half-miler in late October.

Race 7 - NW8/100000LT / NW6/75000LT Drawn Inside Trot

(5) ETHAN T HANOVER posted three wins and a third in October and November here at Yonkers and returns tonight after finishing a solid fourth in the Matron at Dover. (1) YOU WILL BE QUEEN wound up with another second-place finish last Thursday, making her three-for-three in that department since coming down from Canada. I'll put her there again tonight. (4) BIG NUDGE has raced at Yonkers before and has been doing well since Symon Spicer started training him back in April.

Race 8 - F&M Open Handicap Pace

(5) SCUOLA HANOVER won pretty impressively at Yonkers a couple of times back in October and added three more victories after that in Delaware. She avoids the likes of Dragon Roll and Racine Bell in the Open tonight, and I'll swing. (4) THE BETHINATOR had to work pretty hard to get to the front on 11-4 and paid in the price in the lane as she faded to fourth. She did tally in the Open prior to that, so she can't be ignored. (3) EDGE OF ETERNITY closed well to finish third against Dragon Roll and Racine Bell a week ago, and I can see a similar result coming tonight.

Race 9 - F&M NW30000L5 Pace

(2) JIVE DANCING A exits the Open here and dominated in her last try at this level on 10-7. (5) MAJOR BATTLE faces a softer group in this class than she did a week ago, and she has had such a consistent season, so I'll include her underneath. (4) ROCKNROLL ANNIE has an improved post position tonight after starting from the seven and the eight in her last couple of efforts.

Race 10 - F&M NW20000L5/30000CLM/NW10 PM Races LT Pace

(6) LIT DE ROSE finished third in the Preferred at Woodbine Mohawk Park last time out, and the horse that won the race, Gia's Surreal, tallied in the Open here at Yonkers earlier this year. I think that might make her live, and she is worth a shot. (4) HEAVENS SHOWGIRL A won a week ago in her first start back after a brief hiatus, and she didn't have to move up in class tonight. (1) DRAGONS LUCKY LADY has been first or second in all of her efforts at Yonkers since shipping in from Ohio, and she moves inside to the pole.

Race 11 - F&M NW33275L5 Pace

(1) MYSTICAL CARRIE fit this class by $25, so she gets to drop out of the Open in her third local try, and she looks pretty stout, especially since she starts from the pole. (2) GOLDEN QUEST N handled the hike up to this level very nicely last Thursday, finishing a rallying second. Obviously she's sharp right now, and I'll include. (3) TURNTHEFROWNAROUND will probably be closer to the action tonight as she slides inside on the gate from the eight-hole to post three.

Race 12 - F&M NW6000L5/12500CLM Pace

(3) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX drops to the bottom level after finishing second on 11-10 in a NW7500L5 event. Marcus Miller appears to be getting along with her, and he's back in the bike tonight. (1) HIGH ROLLING A gets a third shot in this class and drew well again. She's also got a driver change to Jason Bartlett. (4) CORAL BELLA is another one with the class/post relief combination going for her, and she might be on the lead.
