(3) THE LAST MARTINI and (4) COWGIRL HANOVER are stablemates who have been tough to beat for the others all year. THE LAST MARTINI did get the better of COWGIRL HANOVER the last time they were on a half-mile oval at Batavia, and I'll lean that way again here. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - New York Sire Stakes 3YO Filly Trot Final (7) R MELINA seems well past the breaking issues she had earlier this year, and although she's stuck outside, I'll look for her class to carry her through. (6) SADBIRDSTILLSING has just one victory in 2024 but it came in the sire stakes at Yonkers. (1) WINNING ALLIANCE starts from the pole and exits Grand Circuit events against open company at Woodbine Mohawk Park. She packs plenty of early foot and should be well-positioned. [DRF BETS: Wager on today's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - Bob Miecuna Invitational Trot (3) AMIGO VOLO finished up his mile well here in the Invitational on 8-29 and moves inside on the gate today while also adding Dexter Dunn in the bike. He was chasing International Trot finalist Logan Park in Canada before coming to Yonkers. (2) ARI FERRARI J won impressively over NW20000L5 company at Yonkers on the 22nd of August and is capable of showing plenty of speed off the gate as he demonstrated in Kentucky earlier this year. (6) M-M'S DREAM won this race a year ago but comes off a brutal trip in the Maple Leaf Trot last Saturday. Race 4 - New York Sire Stakes 3YO C&G Trot Final (5) THINKER MONKEY doesn't have a great win record but trainer Marcus Melander is winning a pile of races right now, and I'm going to bank on there being plenty of speed for him to chase with the two favorites drawn outside. (3) SUPER DUPER COOPER gets a driver switch to Yannick Gingras today and has hit the board in three of his last four tries. (8) SIR PINOCCHIO is the one to beat, especially given his success at Yonkers both in the sire stakes and in the MGM Yonkers Trot, but he drew the outside and I'm going to try and beat him. Race 5 - MGM Yonkers International Trot ***$50,000 Pick 5 Carryover / $150,000 Guaranteed Pool *** (10) PERICULUM raced brilliantly in his Maple Leaf Trot elimination and the final. This isn't the easiest post, but driver Scott Zeron seems to have a knack for working out the right trip in these races. (4) JIGGY JOG S should be the one to beat as she's undefeated in the U.S. this year and was second in the International Trot a year ago. She also drew in an ideal spot to give Dunn options on what he wants to do. (8) VERNISSAGE GRIF IT looks like the best of the Europeans to me and his trainer won the International Trot in 2023. He also showed huge speed in a 1:49 3/5 performance in France back in March. Race 6 - New York Sire Stakes 3YO C&G Pace Final This is another NYSS final that got thrown open by the draw, I think, and I'm going to go with (1) AMERITRIC, who has been closing out his miles fairly well and gets a big advantage by starting from the rail today. (4) BOSTON ROCKS won the sire stakes final a year ago, has been performing well this year and got a major edge at the draw on (8) HOWLENTHEHILLS, who is absolutely the one to beat, but I think is worth taking a chance against from the eight-hole at what will probably still be 2-5 or so. Race 7 - New York Sire Stakes 3YO Filly Pace Final (3) PEACE TALKS took the sire stakes final in upset fashion last year and put in a much better effort last time out at Tioga than she had been. She also gets David Miller in the bike today. (1) CAMERICAN just missed by a head in a closing effort at Tioga last time out, coming in ahead of my top pick in the process. The rail draw makes her attractive, too, as does her victory over open company in the Park MGM Pace at Yonkers back in late June. (7) TARRIFIC has won three straight but is another favorite who landed an outside post in the sire stakes finals today, and I'll swing against for the win. Race 8 - New York Sire Stakes 2YO C&G Trot Final (2) SUPER CHAPTER looks like not only the best one in New York, but one of the top 2-year-old male trotters in the group overall. He won handily at Yonkers back in late July. (1) HAPPY JACK B won impressively when Tyler Buter took over the driving last time out at Tioga and he's back in the bike here. He also has an entrymate in (1A) GANGSTA TALK that prevailed in the sire stakes at Yonkers on 7-25. (4) BJM'S LIL MAN is having a great campaign with five triumphs and a third in six outings. He gets a new driver today with Bartlett taking over. Race 9 - Aria Invitational Pace (1) DESPERATE MAN really had no business winning the Kane at Batavia after he was badly bothered by a breaker past three-quarters, but he overcame it and rallied to score. Given he also won two Invitationals at Yonkers prior to that and starts from the pole, he'll get top billing. (2) ENERGETIC HANOVER should offer value underneath and was racing well in the Invitational at Yonkers back in June. He finally has an inside draw, too. (4) HELLABALOU has had a knack of stepping up at Yonkers when the big money is on line and gets Gingras back in the bike for trainer Ron Burke. He also gets post relief off his last appearance at Batavia. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10 - New York Sire Stakes 2YO Filly Trot Final (6) ROYAL MISSION was caught too close to a fast pace in the Peaceful Way final most recently but was racing well before that and just missed at Yonkers in the NYSS regular season on 6-25. (1) MY DEBT COLLECTER has won two in-a-row and set a track record at Batavia last time out. She gets a new driver today with David Miller taking over. (4) CALCULUS RISK won in the sire stakes at Yonkers in late June and has hit the board in three straight appearances. Race 11 - New York Sire Stakes 2YO C&G Pace Final (4) THIRSTY THURSDAY put up a perfect record on half-mile ovals in the sire stakes regular season and is my top call to complete today's card. (1) IDEALOFADAY was second to THIRSTY THURSDAY in the sire stakes at Yonkers on 6-27 and finished out his last mile at Tioga with some interest. He also starts from post one. (6) COURTS ON FIRE finished in the runner-up spot behind THIRSTY THURSDAY most recently at Tioga and switches drivers to Gingras.
