Yonkers: Analysis for Saturday 9/10

Greg Reinhart|Sep 08, 2022
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 184 - 699 / $1,076.60 (-$330.40)
BEST BETS: 44 - 72 / $152.60 (+$8.60)
SPOT PLAYS: 9 - 71 / $77.30 (-$64.70)
BEST BET -
ODDS ON DELRAY (9th)
SPOT PLAY - KEPT UNDER WRAPS A (8th)

Race 1 - NW5626L5/12500CLM Trot

(7) SEVENTIER makes his second start for Gareth Dowse here and gets a catch driver in George Napolitano Jr. Add in the drop to the bottom level, and I'll use. (3) LIVING PROOF I AM owns a recent win against NW6800L5's at Pocono and is back on a regular racing rotation tonight after being scratched on 8-27. He also gets some class relief. (1) MOON BRIDGE hit the board in the corresponding class to this one at Harrah's Philadelphia and Pocono in his last two outings and starts from the pole.

Race 2 - 3&4YO 40000CLM Pace

(6) CAVIART SARGENT owns five straight on-the-board finishes, including a pair of wins, and gets to face age-restricted claiming company here instead of open $40,000 foes. (3) MUSTANG BEACH came up second-best at 1-9 a week ago. He can win but is not worth a short price again. (2) ARTIST BEST has been pretty win-shy this year with just a one-for-15 record but is a firster for trainer Jared Bako after a claim. He finished a solid second after cutting the fractions last Saturday.

[DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!]

Race 3 - 15000CLM Pace

(6) SOHO WALLSTREET A has shown nada in two starts for Dowse but plummets in class from the $25,000 claimers and catches a pretty blank-looking group. (2) SETTLEMOIR struggled last time out but was pretty good in two starts before that and finally has an inside post tonight. (1) COACH CAL starts from the pole and paced a 28 and change last quarter on 9-2. I'll include.

Race 4 - 30000CLM Pace

(5) SHARK PLAY slides down from the $40,000 claimers in his third appearance in from Minnesota and has a driver switch to Napolitano Jr., perhaps indicating he's going to get sent. (2) ROLL WITH JR has two wins and a second in his last three tries at the $30,000 claiming level and trainer William Adamczyk must have liked him when he had him before since he was a re-claim on 8-27. (3) REAL LUCKY N is very sharp right now and given that he didn't draw outside like when he didn't hit the board on 8-20 or 7-30, I will include.

Race 5 - NW10000L5/Winners in the Last Start of Base Class NW7500L5 Pace

(7) BRAEVIEW BONDI A recently won in 1:50 and change at Woodbine Mohawk Park and is now south of the border with Travis Alexander. Given Dan Dube is in the bike, I'm going to expect him to be handled aggressively. (1) GAMBLINGTERROR and (4) BIG SIR both drop out of the NW15000L5 class. I prefer Gamblingterror for second given that's where he finished the last time he competed at this level.

Race 6 - NW8626L5/Winners in the Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5/15000CLM Trot

(4) CRIME FIGHTER gained some positions in the last quarter on August 27 and gets reunited with Jason Bartlett tonight. I'll give him a shot. (1) KANDY SWEET picked up checks in her last two opportunities against $50,000 claimers and finds a softer spot from a much better draw here. (3) COCKTAILS N DREAMS drops out of the NW10000L5 base class and is probably overdue for a more aggressive try.

Race 7 - 3&4YO 40000CLM Pace

(4) GREAT SOMEWHERE is a newcomer to the Dowse barn from Canada and qualified very well at Yonkers on September 2. I will look for him to strike right out of the box. (2) HURRIKANE GEORGIE is very sharp with two straight victories and four consecutive on the board finishes. I expect him to be favored over my top pick. (3) HP LIS SHADOW has been making some miscues but also appears to have some talent. Dube got along well with him on August 23 and is back in the bike here.

Race 8 - 15000CLM Pace

(5) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A shows two excuse lines coming into this event as he had a brutal trip from post eight at Harrah's Philadelphia on 8-21 and then drew the eight-hole again at Freehold on September 3. He moves to a mid-pack post tonight, and the last time he had a clean trip on the 14th of August, he was a winner. (1) TERRITORY is now in the Cory Stratton barn after a claim and has post relief in his first try for that stable. (2) BET THE LIMIT appears usable as he's hit the board in three of his five starts since being claimed by Scott Di Domenico back in July.

Race 9 - 30000CLM Pace

(4) ODDS ON DELRAY picked up spots and gained ground in the final quarter from an outside post on 9-2 and now drops and moves inside for the Bartlett/Dowse duo. (3) URBAN RENEWAL defeated $30,000 claimers a couple times at the bottom of his page and was Braxten Boyd's choice of three. (1) ROCK N TONY loses Boyd but has the pole and just missed two back after taking the lead from first-over.
