MEET STATS: 206 - 623 / $1,067.70 (-$178.30)
BEST BETS: 35 - 60 / $113.30 (-$6.70)
Best Bet: YAYAS HOT SPOT N (4th)
Spot Play: TWIN B SPEEDO (1st)
Race 1: $15,000/$20,000 Claiming Pace
(1) TWIN B SPEEDO finished alertly from the eight hole in his first start off the DiDomenico claim. He faces tougher here up in class but lands the best post in this handicapped event and may be up to the task. (6) WESTERN BEACHBOY went on a speed mission last week and staggered late; Bartlett stays and he should be prominent again. (8) DOJEA SOLO has been very camera-shy the last couple of seasons but his tactical speed always gives him a chance; he can land a nice piece if able to improve position early.

Race 2: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) ANTHEM N was uninvolved most of the way last out when dropped to this level but he finished with plenty late; Tritton trainee fits this level well and with the improved post he should be close enough to strike. (2) AMERICAN MERCURY has proven to be a very frustrating horse to gauge but he drops to a new low and it's hard not to include him. (4) CAPOZZO gets some much-needed post relief which makes him a logical contender.

Race 3: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) YAYAS HOT SPOT N has been pacing just evenly of late while facing a bit better than these but he lands another good post versus softer here and the Shane Tritton import appears overdue. (3) IMAROCNROLLEGEND N has been underachieving of late, not finishing his miles well, but the Jenn Bongiorno trainee is talented and he'll turn it around eventually. (5) BENHOPE RULZ N has been a disappointment this year but he does drop in class for the third consecutive start; mixed feelings here.
Race 4: Open Handicap Pace
(4) SAN DOMINO A has come up a bit short in his last two races but they were still solid efforts in defeat; Stratton should be sending this one to the front tonight and if he's well-rated he may be tough to catch. (3) MICKY GEE N finally gets some post relief and he'll never be too far back in this abbreviated field. He's very obvious here, but won't offer any value. (6) THE REAL ONE has been on fire of late, like all of the Lachance trainees, but he'll be coming from last and may have too much ground to cover.
Race 5: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) BRONX SEELSTER arrives from Ohio, joins the Shane Tritton barn, and he qualified in 1:54 1/5 over the Monticello track rated two seconds slow. Safe to say he's ready for action. (4) DANCIN DRAGON gets needed class relief and draws a bit better post tonight; gelding should be a major player here. (1) TALBOTCREEKWHISKEY was a well-rated winner last out and draws best again; he should be in line for a good trip up close, and may offer some value as others figure to take the bulk of the money.
Race 6: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) SOHO LENNON A was racing really well a couple of months back, but the downside to that was having to hike up in class, where he was a bit overmatched. Gutsy veteran descends the class ladder here back to a winning level. (3) ZACH MAGUIRE N gets both class and post relief which makes him a player. (1) WALKINSHAW N also gets the potent combo of class and post relief, usually the recipe for success. I'll go four-deep here to mention (8) RAUKAPUKA RULER N for Stratton/Tritton…watch his tote action for signs of life.

Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) TYGA HANOVER will probably be the default favorite in here based on his speed, form and post. He can go coast-to-coast if well-rated. (2) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N moves back inside and will be close up, perhaps in the pocket. There doesn't seem to be much early speed to his outside. (4) BELTANE A has been reasonably good in all recent and he can land another good piece tonight.
Race 8: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) PEACE OUT POSSE has been remarkably consistent of late out of town for the Jenn Bongiorno barn and he looks like a good fit here with this type. (4) BETTOR THAN SPRING just missed two back on the engine versus similar and Holland should be firing early from this spot. (3) ALTA LEROY N hails from the Lachance barn, which we know has been firing on all cylinders.
Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(7) PAT STANLEY N was handled aggressively last out as the 1/5 favorite but could not get by and faltered; he lands a tough outside post in this competitive affair but he'll obviously offer a much better price. (2) OSTRO HANOVER had been rock-solid in his last three and looms large again tonight. (4) SUNFIRE BLUE CHIP figures to be a speed player from this spot.
