Yonkers: Analysis for Saturday 10/2

Matt Rose|Oct 01, 2021
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 344 - 1004 / $1,845.00 (-$163.00)

BEST BETS: 46 - 94 / $145.40 (-$42.60)

Best Bet: SHNEONUCRZYDIAMND A (4th)

Spot Play: NO MAS DRAMA (7th)

Race 1: F&M NW15300 in last 5 Pace

(3) DELIGHTFUL Z TAM raced decently last week when transitioned over from the NYSS and age-restricted overnight events. Lachance has been going pretty well lately. (4) DEMETER N was second best all the way from the pocket last start, which seems fine until you realize she was 2/5. (7) MONICA GALLAGHER has class to her and with a smooth trip she's capable of landing a board spot.

Race 2: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE was a big winner two back facing $50K claimers, then technically dropped when he fit the NW9 condition, but he never got involved when the pace was too slow; I'll give the Burke trainee another chance. (1) GINGRAS BEACH has surprised us on more than one occasion this year, now he figures from this inside spot. (2) SOMEWHERE FANCY has been unable to replicate that 1:50 4/5 mile at Charlottetown three back; ability is still there, however.

Race 3: NW15000 in last 5 Trot

(2) BLENHEIM gets important post relief and meets a field that hasn't done a whole lot of winning recently. (5) KINDA LUCKY LINDY has been picking up minor shares facing better and he was a winner when last at this level. (1) CAVALIER GEORGE trotted evenly last week but now moves inside and maybe new driver Holland can get something more out of the 4-year-old.

Race 4: NW16750 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) SHNEONUCRZYDIAMND A returns from a one-race stint at Philly where he was a decent second and he now faces a bit softer and should have a tactical edge leaving from the rail. (6) SAVE ME A DANCE didn't make many friends last week when he burned the cash at 30 cents on the dollar; prior to that the Burke trainee looked good in age-restricted company. (3) OAKWOODNITTOWINIT IR also transitions from the "NW" life classes and lands a much better starting spot.

Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 Pace

(4) BETTING EXCHANGE missed a few weeks off a sick scratch but he qualified back fine; at this point in his career, both he and (1) MACINTOSH N are still competitive, but this class or maybe NW7500 seem to be their ceiling. (5) ATTA BOY DAN used to be a winning machine but no longer; his last couple of local starts, though against better, weren’t that good.

[DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!]

Race 6: NW20000 in last 5 Trot

(1) BARRY BLACK always looks tempting but doesn't always convert; he did put in a solid try in defeat three back and he should be looking at a live trip from this spot. (8) GLOBETROTTING is lightly raced but she obviously has some serious talent; looks like the addition of hobbles helped immensely. (5) LEAN HANOVER is accustomed to facing better and normally would appear to be a strong play but that sick scratch at Freehold is concerning, considering he had just come back from a layoff.

Race 7: NW30000 in last 5 Trot

(6) NO MAS DRAMA took a trip to Ohio but failed to make an impact in the Ms Versatility; her prior two local starts were rock-solid. (3) PATRIARCH HANOVER is up in class but seems talented enough, when he behaves himself. (2) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN almost always comes away with money and will probably do so again tonight.

Race 8: NW10000 in last 5 Pace

(2) WALKINSHAW N hasn't been down this low in class for a few months, but he was a winner when last facing similar. (6) OUR MAJORDAN A has been a major disappointment this year, but he has been better in his last couple. (5) ANTHEM N can contend here if not affected by the recent lame scratch.

Race 9: Open Handicap Trot

(2) CHAMPAGNE ON ICE has raced very well every time she's landed a good post. Kakaley gets the catch-drive and the mare can be on the lead or in the pocket from this spot. (3) CHAPTIAMA hasn't fired his best recently but he seems capable of better; post helps. Both (6) MISSISSIPPI STORM and (7) MELADY’S MONET need no introduction but they may be compromised by the streaking (5) MADHATTER BLUECHIP leaving to their inside.

Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 Pace

(3) GLOBALDOMINATION N has had three eight holes in his las four starts, but sandwiched between is a second-place finish facing much better. (1) HEAVENLY SOUND isn’t a prolific winner but Lachance should work out a live trip here. (2) LIFEONTHEBEACH A also finds a better spot in his local return; he was in against some good ones when last here.
