Yonkers: Analysis for Monday 9/27

MEET STATS: 318 - 903 / $1,705.00 (-$101.00)
BEST BETS: 43 - 85 / $135.20 (-$34.80)
Best Bet: LEONIDAS A (8th)
Spot Play: FLYINGEVENBETTOR N (11th)
Race 1: $30,000 Claiming Pace
(2) CLASSIC PRO went a monster trip to miss a nose last week, when he was parked most of the way (as my top choice at 19/1). He draws well again and can take this if Siegelman can get him to relax some. (4) PACING MAJOR N draws a better post tonight and will be favored to take this. (1) WAGON MASTER gets a barn change to Harmon, draws best, could improve.

Race 2: NW10000 in last 5 Pace
(5) SOHO LENNON A drops to a winning level, draws a reasonable enough post and in theory this classy veteran is supposed to take these wire-to-wire. (1) AIR FORCE HANOVER dropped and popped last start, going the distance from post eight. He moves all the way back inside and looms large. (7) J B MAUNEY N was a solid winner last week, but he faces tougher here from another outside post. Use underneath.

Race 3: $30,000 Claiming Pace
(2) JOJO'S PLACE finally drew well last week and took advantage by racing well to be second best. He lands inside again and is clearly one of the main contenders. (3) BLUEBIRD RECON didn't show much last start but he was lagging at the rear most of the way from a tough post. He goes for yet another new barn tonight (Alexander) and will be in the thick of this. (1) MY DELIGHT doesn't win that often but he was third best two and three back facing similar.
Race 4: $40,000 Claiming Pace
(6) PRO BEACH hit town recently for Burke, was classified at this $40K claiming level and proved a game uncovered winner at odds on. He faces mostly unproven types at this level but needs to generate early speed for his best chance. (1) BELTANE A has been very sharp for Lance Hudson and now drops in for a tag; he could fit well here. (4) KASEY JOHN A tries Stratton tonight and he has been flashing good early speed of late.
Race 5: $50,000 Claiming Pace
(5) BARBADOS drops back down to the level of the claim a few starts back and though he's strictly a closing type there seems to be some shaky speed in here and he could be moving fastest late. (4) TOPVILLE OLYMPIAN should be more involved with the post relief. (2) ROBBIE BURNS N had a tough time at the $75K level and he drops back to 50's, where he dominated three back. He figures to be the one to catch at a short price.
Race 6: $75,000 Claiming Pace
(3) KEY ADVISOR was jammed in the pocket last week while appearing to have pace; Erv Miller trainee may have something to prove versus some of these but he projects to be a good price. (2) AINTNOBETTOR A was a winner last week at odds-on and he's in a similar spot tonight. (6) JOESSTAR OF MIA A is a fresh face to these local claiming wars and he's been going great for Cano.
Race 7: Open Handicap Pace
(6) NANDOLO N went a big, big effort last week to win the featured Open and winning the '6 through 8' draws helps his chances immensely. (3) FUNATTHEBEACH N had no chance from the eight hole coming out of the same race; obvious contender moving inside. (7) NONE BETTOR A returns locally after winning the Quillen and Mark MacDonald is back driving again; he must leave hard to have any chance.
Race 8: NW30000 in last 5 Pace
Sure looks like (1) LEONIDAS A is back! He overcame a tough trip to score last week and should have his way with these. (5) SEMI TOUGH returns locally for Burke and is a legit talent; most likely candidate to complete a chalky exacta. (6) TYGA HANOVER was reunited with Bartlett and was a nice winner; tough spot here however…maybe third?
Race 9: Preferred Handicap Pace
(4) FRANCO TOTEM N looked like a contender in last week's Open but he was shuffled after showing early speed; he faces softer tonight and looks to have a very live chance. (5) PEACE OUT POSSE is back at Yonkers after disposing of Freehold's Preferred and he lands a reasonable midpack post; Team Bongiorno trainee figures to be aggressively handled. (7) SPLASH BROTHER finally won a race last week; insist on a good price if you like him tonight.
Race 10: $100,000 Claiming Pace
(2) WEONA SIZZLER A draws inside his main competition and figures to have an easier time of it; versatile import can try to pike it or stalk from the pocket. (3) LYONS KING was able to rate a comfortable half last week and prevailed all out; he can certainly repeat but may have to work harder. (5) TALBOTCREEKWHISKEY is arguably in career form now; tough spot here but with some help he can carve out a piece.

Race 11: NW15000 in last 5 Pace
(3) FLYINGEVENBETTOR N has finished with pace in all recent starts but has just been unable to reach. Post improvement should make the Alagna trainee a legit contender. (5) TITO ROCKS disappointed last time, now faces softer. (6) YANKEE ROLLER A ships in after spending time at The Meadows and Northfield with some success; now in the Nifty Norman barn and he should fit well here.
Race 12: NW20100 in last 5 Pace
(2) JUST PLAIN LOCO gets some class relief after facing better in all recent, and he's capable of a strong finish with the right setup. (4) ALWAYS AND AGAIN was third best here a couple of starts back from a similar spot, both he and (5) GREY DRAGON can be legit speed threats here.
