Race 1 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(2) IDEAL ARTILLERY picked up checks in all five NY Sire Stakes legs and then dropped into a NW1 at Harrah's Philadelphia and romped. He meets up with a beatable group here, and given his half-mile track experience, I'll put on top. (1) SOCIAL THEORIES is 0-for-18 lifetime, but horses shipped down from Canada into Scott Blackler's barn have done well before, and I think this guy can hit the ticket from the pole position. (8) MV OK PALACIO BR has defeated NW2's at Yonkers before and won nicely at Pocono most recently, but I'll take a swing against from post eight and use underneath.
Race 2 - 12500CLM Pace
(2) MATT MAJOR switches barns to Travis Alexander's here and has raced well here at Yonkers before. He had a couple of seconds and a third down at Harrah's Philadelphia and Pocono, then tired in a hot pace most recently. I'll hope for an easier trip tonight with Bartlett steering. (1) HIGHVIEW CONALL N cruised to a pretty facile victory as the odds-on choice in his start at this level on September 9 and slides in from post four to the pole position. (4) JOE HILL finished third against $15,000 claiming company at Pocono two starts back and drops. He was Dube's choice over two others in this race.
Race 3 - NW5000L5 Pace
(4) SECRECY will be a play-back for me this week as he draws a better post after closing well from far off-the-pace last Monday. He also kept Dube's services over another one. (2) WHAT'S GOIN ON exits an excuse line as he left and got parked on the 9th of September. He gets to leave from post two this time, so he should be able to have a smoother trip. (1) NATIONAL SEELSTER was caught late after cutting easy fractions in that same race that my top pick comes out of a week ago. He drew the pole, so I imagine Brennan will be firing again.
Race 4 - NW5000L5 Pace
(3) TWIN B SPEEDO won back on 6-25 when partnered with Austin Siegelman in a NW5000L5 affair, and he reassumes the drive tonight. I'll hope maybe he can step around the inside two horses and work out a good rail trip, then pounce in the stretch. (5) MAJESTIC KIWI N backed up his second-place finish on September 1 with another one last Monday, missing by just a nose. He gets a third chance to race against NW5000L5's tonight. (8) MACH TIME N kept Brent Holland over my top pick. He has a second and a third in his last two efforts in this class but moves all the way out to post eight. He did close from post six back on the 9th of September, so I'll bank on him being able to pass foes again and use on the ticket.
Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace *$7,500 GTD Pick-5 Pool*
(6) GAMBLINGTERROR finished a good second over at the Meadowlands against a well-meant Sombodyitreasure and has raced well at Yonkers before, too, including a second on 8-10. Hopefully Dube can fire him out of there and either lead or sit close. (1) MACHING TIME finished third in a NW4 here the last time he drew inside on 7-27 and did make up some ground in the final quarter at Harrah's Philadelphia in his last race. (2) ROGERTHAT BLUECHIP was the third-place finisher in a NW2 race at the Meadowlands on the 5th of September and races for the tandem of Bartlett and Harris, who had three wins together on Thursday night.
Race 6 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace
(1) THE WALL made front from post eight and was third against a NW10000L5 group on 9/1 and raced solidly at the Meadowlands after that. He has the pole position tonight for the potent Bartlett/Harris tandem. (2) SEAFARER is another horse with a good effort against NW10000L5's at Yonkers recently, a closing third on August 6, and he romped at Harrah's Philadelphia's NW7000L5 level on the 30th of August. (3) PERFECTLY CLOSE moves back inside this time after being stuck out in post eight at Harrah's Philadelphia on September 11. His start before that was a good second from first-up in a NW10000L5 event at Yonkers.
Race 7 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Pace
(5) SHOW THE FASHION has raced well for trainer Nick Devita in both of his starts for him thus far, winning on 8-31 and closing from eighth to second after that. He makes a lateral move over from the $20,000 claiming class tonight, draws better, and I'll hope he keeps the hot streak going. (3) ROCK THE NITE is another one on the card for Bartlett and Harris. He won in his last appearance against NW10000L5's at Yonkers on 8-20 and rallied in 26 and change last time out at the Meadowlands. (1) PROVEN DESIRE was not Siegelman's choice but comes off a win down at Freehold and wasn't racing badly at Yonkers prior to that.
Race 8 - NW8/100000LT Pace
(6) GLOBALDOMINATION N owns two wins and a second in his last three chances against NW8's at Yonkers and has shown the ability to win both on the lead and from off-the-pace, giving Stratton options on how to handle him. (1) THE MOONSHADOW N comes out of a NW8 race here where he wound up three-wide on the second turn and was the runner-up to Globaldomination N and a post nine start against tough foes at the Meadowlands. Any smoother trip from the pole position makes him tough. (3) ARTIE'S IDEAL prevailed over NW17500L5's two back at Yonkers and draws a better post tonight than he had in that subsequent post eight try at Harrah's Philadelphia.
Race 9 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Pace
(2) GRAND PRIORITY jogged over NW5000L5 rivals on 9-4 and then didn't get involved when he moved up to the NW10000L5 level as he raced conservatively from post seven. He gets major post relief tonight by drawing the two, and I think is worth a play at hopefully a bit of a price. (3) BLUEBIRD RECON hung around from fourth after a first-over journey on the 10th of September. He gets a driver change to Tyler Buter this time, and maybe he can get him a smoother trip. (4) YAYAS HOT SPOT N had pretty much every chance to win last Monday as he led through soft fractions but tired in the lane. He could certainly bounce back, but I'll try and beat him off that last mile.
