Yonkers: Analysis for Monday 8/3/26

Matt Rose|Jul 31, 2026
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2026 MEET STATS: 189 - 575 / $1,048.70 (-$101.30)

BEST BETS: 35 - 60 / $117.92 (-$2.08)

BEST BET: SIMPLY FAST (1st)

SPOT PLAY: OZONE BLUE CHIP (9th)

Race 1: $40,000 Claiming Pace

(3) SIMPLY FAST has been rock solid for these connections since being claimed for $25K and he was second best last week with a swift last quarter. He looks best here. (2) OURMATEMENKO N is back down to the level of his claim a couple of months back and he was second best against similar two starts ago. (1) AMERITRIC moves all the way to the rail and picks up Bartlett in his second start off the Daguet claim; figures to be much better tonight.

Race 2: NW11671 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) NONE BETTOR A came close to pulling off the shocker last week and that effort proves that the old man has still got the goods. 13YO moves in to the rail and deserves the opportunity to wire these. (4) BRUTALLYHANDSOME A drops from $50K claimers and finds a reasonably good spot to awaken. (3) NANDOLO N should never be 20/1 on the ML because he drops in class and moves back to an inside post. Siegelman gets the catch drive tonight on the millionaire.

Race 3: $15,000 Claiming Pace

(2) ARTIST BEST was a winner from a similar spot three back and he has a post edge on his rivals here; barn has done pretty well here this season. (4) I'M TALKIN HUNGRY gets a class test but if can replicate his effort from last week at Philly he'll be a factor. (5) GOTHIC ROCK has burned money in his last couple when he could do no better than third; I'll slot him underneath again.

Race 4: Invitational Pace

All (2) GORGEOUS BUG GUY has done since arriving at Yonkers for Burke is earn $68,500 in less than two months. Buter is back catch driving and they teamed up to be a close second in the Open three back and win in his local debut. I'll give him a shot over the outside heavy-hitters. (5) MOSSDALE BEN N went a brutal trip last out and almost lived to tell about it; he doesn't figure to be parked again. (6) SWEET BEACH LIFE has been RAZOR sharp and showed how versatile he is by winning from last on July 20. Impossible to toss even from the assigned outside post.

Race 5: 3-6YO $30,000 Claiming Pace

(4) PAXAMILLION has taken two of three since the move to the Bongiorno barn and he stays at the winning level; Bartlett catch drives tonight. (1) ZEBS KRAFTY was badly outrun in his last two but he moves to the rail and faces softer. (2) INVICTUS also gets major post relief as he returns from Monti.

Race 6: NW15831 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) THENU CAME ALONG A gets post relief off last week's start and two back he was a good third versus better, and the start prior he was second to Chase H Hanover. Blackler trainee is seemingly in a live spot to improve that 1 for 15 record. (4) FINVARRA A looks like he needs to drop to a lower class to offer up his best but Bartlett does return for good connections. (1) PLAY ACTION PASS arrives from Hoosier for the Burke barn. He's been good out there but if Burke thinks enough of him to ship out East then I suspect he'll be good here as well racing for twice the money.

Race 7: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) UDDERLY SWEET A has now won two straight and though the recent import faces his toughest competition to date I'm going to give him another chance to shine. Bartlett picks up the drive on the Bongiorno trainee. (3) JUMPINGJACKMAC N draws a bit better post and was a winner when last in this class. (1) PAPI'S ROCKET double jumps in class for Burke off a sharp 1:51 4/5 win.

Race 8: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) VERDUN is one of a few in here who drop from the Invite but this Lachance trainee is forever consistent and always a major player when on the inner half of the gate. In this case it's the rail. (2) YOUNG BLUEY A finished a close second in his last two tries at this level. (5) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH also takes a needed drop and I think Holland's trying to leave the gate here.

Race 9: $15,000 Claiming Pace

(6) OZONE BLUE CHIP is back in good form and the 12YO is reunited with Bartlett. Post is a moderate concern but helps the price. (2) DECISION DAY was a winner last week from a fairly similar spot and is a legit threat to repeat. (3) CAMOUFLAGE MONEY is in serious need of a wakeup call but he's better than he's been racing.
